Another picture of the Mog takin' when I first got the Mog

When I bought my 1962 404.114 Unimog it was not a "Classic" like the dealer a few states over (NY) told me. It had a leaky axle seal that was misdiagnosed as a wheel cylinder leak, a rear locker that would not engage and it ran rough. It was suppose to have a complete tune up. When I checked it out only 4 spark plugs had been replaced and the cap and roter were not new either. So I tuned it up. The leaky wheel cylinder that turned out to be a axle seal leak, was in the final analysis, the cause of the locker not working. Someone (dealer) had pulled the axle with out wiring the lever in locked position, and a piece had fallen off inside the differential and was chewed up. Lets just say I was not happy. The dealer again gave me the run around so I bought a new rear axle from Vallejo California (Scott & Kathy's Expedition Inports) and installed it. So now I have the "Classic" Unimog I thought I was buying in the begining, not the fixer upper that I received instead. I have added a petronix points replacement module, new bed boards, new tires and a lot of other things. I am finally happy with the Mog.
