~My Diabetes Space~

~My name is Annette Richardson~

Hello and welcome to the 8th edition of my Juvenile-Diabetes webpage :) An explanation of the disease in hopes it may help someone recognise the symptoms early on. I will be entering my 52nd year with the disease this April.

Read the symptom's... for your children or grandchildrens sake. Type 1 diabetes is diagnosed mainly in thin children and teenagers, It is also known as Juvenile Diabetes. In Type1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. Insulin is necessary for the body to be able to use sugar. Sugar is the fuel for cells in the body, rather like gasoline in your car, Insulin takes sugar from the blood into the cells. Finding out you have it is frightening as Juvenile Diabetes is incurable, once it is diagnosed in children, it is.. for now, for life.
