Repeat the process with the left side set of wings.

Adjust the Wings into Proper Position

One of the beauties of using glassine is that you can place your finger on top of the glassine to hold the wing down with, while you work,
and not rub off the colors on the wing. Using your tongs, pick up the edge of the glassine on the right side. Reach under the glassine with the tongs, grasp the wing and pull it up into position. Hold the forewing down with your finger, stick pins in the glassine to firmly hold it into place, then repeat the process on the hindwing. When done, repeat the process on the left side of the specimen. Use pins to hold the antennae in place. For proper position, go to the Gallery of Swallowtails http://community-2.webtv.net/butterflyzoo/GalleryofRareand/ to see what the finished product should look like.

Almost Finished

Pink pins (so they stand out) are used to hold antennae in place. Your specimen
should look like this when done. Let it dry 24 hours, then you can move it to a Riker Mount or a Cornell Drawer(best for long term storage). A piece of no pest strip the size of a grain of rice will keep dermestids from eating your specimens over the long haul.

Removing The Finished Specimen

If you used plain water to relax your specimen, you must allow 48 to 72 for the specimen to dry. If you used vodka or gin, the specimen should be completely dried and set in 24. Carefully remove the pins from one side, and then remove all the pins from the other side. Remove the pins and glassine from the other side. You are done ! Now wasn't that simple ?
