Please excuse our dust and clutter while we renovate Mrs. Slocombe's drawers. This site is about ARE YOU BEING SERVED? a British television program that ran in Britain from 1973 untill 1985,but is still being shown today on PBS stations all over the United States. My aim is to provide a list of links to other sites dealing with Are You Being Served?I have included a few vidcaps which I obtained from a video tape.If I happen to steal ,I mean borrrow any pics from anyones web site I'll do so with permission and give them credit.

ARE YOU BEING SERVED? Takes place in an imaginary London department store called Grace Brothers.Where the men of the Gents Ready-Mades department and the women of Ladies Intimate Apparell have been forced to share space. The staff tries to sell goods while avoiding the constant sniping between the sexes. All of this is stirred by the different personalities of the workers. The show started out highlighting one Mr. James Lucas,the junior sales assistant on the men's counter, and his sucess or rather lack of it with the ladies as well as sales. The lead soon was taken over by One Mr.Wilberforce Humphries ,sales assistant number 13"unlucky for some".His wacky life style and uncertain gender preference never ceases to amaze the rest of the staff. Mr. Earnest Grainger the senior assistant on the men's counter who suffers from a grumpy disposition and a fading memory fills out the Gents roster. Mrs. Slocombe with her rainbow of hair colors and timely comments concerning her pussy leads the Ladies counter.Completing the Women's side is one lovely Miss Brahms in full cockney accent who never tires of telling Mr. Lucas off. Presiding over them is Captain Steven Peacock the floor walker,lady killer and boss of the department.(In his own mind) Their real boss is Mr. Rumbold the ineffectual manager.Known as "Jug ears" because of his protruding ears he also suffers from hypochondria.
