As tribute to our first Hall of Shame inductee (by unanimous acclaim), we intend to fully document freshman Councilman Padilla's many questionable exploits here; such as:
1. Padilla sleeping through a council vote on a variance hearing, which had failed - UNTIL one of Padilla's wealthy backers shouted from the audience for him to WAKE UP and vote since his vote was needed to pass the undeserved building variance.
As he was ordered to do, Padilla promptly did just that, and this undeserved variance was instead granted - apparently, when seeking a variance, it pays to be politically connected!
How many more debts does Padilla have to pay off? Perhaps, plenty (see #2):

2. Since Councilboy Padilla (a purported "rocket scientist") can't quite seem to grasp the many obvious negative aspects of his proposed redevelopment project, It certainly makes a person wonder whether his loyalties could instead lie with others outside of our 7th Council District?
[FACT: 87% of Padilla's campaign money came from outside of our 7th District!]

Grapevine Development Partnership (GDP), a company which claims to be "Redevelopment specialists," is just the type of company that could potentially make millions of dollars off of the multi-billion dollar N/E Valley Project.
Perhaps coincidentally, Grapevine Development Partnership publicly claims to be the "Political Campaign Consultant" for both Alex Padilla, and his predecessor, Richard Alarcon.
Quite a coincidence! Padilla's political buddies could make millions, and Alex could make....what? And, we'd all get what in return? (The Royal Shaft?)

3. "Democracy" the Padilla way! This is exemplified by his "busing fiasco" which is best described by this lady who was actually there:

"I'm a Latina who has lived and worked in the northeast valley my entire life, and I was sickened by the way poor Latino immigrants were given slates and forced to stand in line like chattel.
While in line to vote, I had a chance to ask several of them what they knew about the candidates, and they responded that they knew none of the candidates, and were told their lives would improve if they voted for those people on their handouts.
Before the election, I was open to the idea of redevelopment, but after seeing how Councilman Padilla and his staff manipulated the community, I've become completely disgusted!
