"ALIEN ROCK 'N' RABBIT"

By Harold Egeln Tuesday, August 2, 2005 -- I took the subway train into Manhattan this afternoon to attend a press party at the Mars 2112 Restaurant on Broadway and West 51st Street, where the party celebrated the release of "Alien Rock: The Rock 'n' Roll Extraterrestrial Connection" by musicologist and publicist Michael Luckman, director of the New York Center for Extraterrestrial Research. As I was getting off the train and onto the platform, there a was girl, about age 10, entering the train, wearing a RABBIT EARS cardboard headress with the words: "ENERGIZER BUNNY" for the popular brand name of batteries which features a RABBIT! I have never seen such a headress for the product... until I was on my way today to a press party about a book on rockers who have had close encounters and UFO sightings! ****************************** Saturday, August 6, 2005 -- After a trip on the Metro-North train (which reminds me of a spaceship) back from an afternoon visit to the City of White Plains, about 25 miles north of New York City in Westchester County, I left Grand Central Station and boarded a subway train home. I immediatedly resumed reading the fascinating new UFO book, "Alien Rock: The Rock 'n' Roll Extraterrestrial Connection." As a reporter and UFO researcher, I attended the press party this past Tuesday for the book's release at the Mars 2112 Restaurant (which has a FLYING SAUCER displayed outside) on Broadway in the city's world-famous theater district. The book is about rockers and other musicians (jazz, folk, country, rave) who have had UFO close encounters and incorporate UFO-space themes into their music. On the R subway train, I resumed reading the chapter about David Bowie, opening to pages 88-89, where I left off on the very top of page 88 this morning. As I came to page 89 I read this passage: "A well-known French ufologist, Thierry Pinvidic, reported that he accidently met David's manager on a TRAIN heading from WHITE PLAINS to New York City in 1979 and was promptly invited to a party at Bowie's mansion in WESTCHESTER County. Wow! What a perfectly timed synchronicity, once again fitting the pattern of the WOW! Contact. We reported here in April 2004 that Bowie ("Love the Alien," "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," "The Man Who Fell to Earth" etc.) was being followed at his concerts by a man dressed in a RABBIT costume. "Alien Rock" reports on Bowie's lifelong interest in UFOs and his sightings. Note that the MARS 2112 Restaurant is on the same block as the 50th Street-Broadway subway station where the huge ALICE IN WONDERLAND moasics decorate the wall, titled "The Way Out," subject of a report here in 2002. *********************************** Monday, August 8, 2005 -- Early this evening I visited a woman who is promoting an air cleaning device which removes pollutants from interior environments. I had met the woman at a Home Business Expo while on a news assignment in CONEY ISLAND two weeks ago. When I got to her lovely apartment in CARROLL Gardens, Brooklyn, I asked for the bathroom and was told to go into the hallway, where I found about six doors! Each door did not lead to my desired destination, and I told her, "I feel like ALICE IN WONDERLAND in the story's hallway, trying all the doors." After the 75-minute visit and interview, finding out that she was an author of a book abut "Days Trips in the HUDSON VALLEY" (site of S.P.A.C.E.'s UFO encounters and skywatches), I excused myself again for the bathroom. As I left the living room entrance-way, I was startled to see a large (12"-18") WHITE RABBIT statue standing upright on the floor! Truly, a "Wonderland" adventure with a a CONEY ISLAND connecton in (Lewis) CARROLL Gardens! *************************** Tuesday, August 9, 2005 -- Today, on the following morning from yesterday's visit to CARROLL Gardens (a place I haven't visited in a long time), I again found myself in CARROLL GARDENS to do another news story, this one on a health and organic food supermarket. It's a block from CARROLL Street (near the CARROLL Street subway station not far from BERGEN Street (as in Anders von BERGEN). After the interview on this hot, humid and sultry tropical Summer day, I went to a bus stop, waiting a long time for a bus. As I finally sought shelter, I moved toward a nearby tree, passing Scotto's Wine and Liquor Store, thinking, "Beam me up, Scotty!" Well -- I was then "beamed up," sort of! I was shocked to see a large window display in the wine store titled "Scotto's in WONDERLAND," featuring many large cardboard figures from "ALICE IN WONDERLAND!!!" They included all the major characters: Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, the Cheshire Cat, the Red Queen, etc.!!!! I was tempted to go inside the store to talk with the manager, but felt I may be intruding. Besides, the bus was finally coming down Court Street, so I snapped two quick digital photos of the AIW window display and then hopped the bus, shaken by this amazing SYNC, connecting with the one of yesterday, and the recent visits to CONEY ISLAND for two news assignments for my newspapers. It was no accident, but another part of our "WOW! Contact" and communication -- very much alive!!! ************************** Sunday, August 14, 2005 -- I discovered today, after an Internet search, that there is a business in CARROLL GARDENS called "WHITE RABBIT GRAPHICS DESIGN" -- named after the current shop's owner's grandfather, who was nickednamed "the WHITE RABBIT" for some reason not explained. ********************************************************** Recently, while watching a science fiction movie from the 1980's, "AIRPLANE II - THE SEQUEL," the passenger space-shuttle pilot, played by PETER GRAVES, ignited the rocketship by turning a KEY on which dangled a RABBIT's foot lucky charm... thus, continuing our RABBIT-SPACE movie syncs pattern. Actor Peter Graves starred in the 1952 sci-fi flick "Red Planet Mars" about a SETI-type contact with a Martian civilization, and his younger son in the movie had a stuffed WHITE RABBIT doll, as has been mentioned here previously. *********************************************************

"SYNCHRONICITY IN WONDERLAND" WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING!

Monday, August 15, 2005 -- In April 2004 I came across the "Synchronicity In Wonderland" report (see below) about the sighting of a large "Harvey"-sized RABBIT at EASTER time by a boy 40 years ago and, a year later, by the same boy and his sister at their house in the Midwest U.S. We have found cases of RABBITS being associated with close encounters, as widely reported in this e-book, so this report by an unknown author rang true.

Over a month ago, the man who was that boy in the mid-1960s, discovered the "Project Wonderland Chronicles" of S.P.A.C.E. and contacted me, mesmerzing me with several accounts, post-the "Synhronicity in Wonderland" report, from 1975 until the present day, which he has shared openly with his relatives and friends where he lives. "I am the real Elwood P. Dowd," he said.

He also mentioned many syncs with KANGAROOS, of which I have none. Except for the time after a late night session of a MUFON Conference in Portsmouth, Maine in 1964 when I and others drove to a seacoast in nearby Maine. On our way the driver, Joseph Wiek, and I saw what looked like a KANGAROO hopping across the road with a WOLF in its embrace! We were incredilous and broke out in wild laughs... "No, there are no kangaroos running loose in Maine, struggling with a wolf, no-less. Can't be what we saw, no way, no how," we said.

Then, today, the real "Dowd" again wrote me. I saw the e-mail as I held The Arts section of The New York Times, which featured a large color picture of KANGAROOS drinking at a stream, drawn by Aboriginal children in Australia.
