2010

2010 Message to South Carolina

I would like to thank the Delegates of the 2010 South Carolina Libertarian convention for my re-election to the office of State Chair. It has been an honor to serve and I look forward to serving and advancing the party. One of my goals is to make the party more effective in the mission of being a political force. The first steps have been taken. We will recall the convention to order April 17, 2010 to nominate the Libertarian winners of the 2010 general election November 2, 2010.

We need everyone to be involved. We have a mission for this new decade. The MISSION of the South Carolina Libertarian Party is "Elect a Libertarian to all Offices." Run for some office or volunteer and join a candidate in their campaign. Be a paper candidate for some office at any level. The target office is the State House. In South Carolina the government is controlled in the State House if we get elected there the direction of South Carolina will change.

We are going to continue organizing counties. We have organized new counties this year and will be creating a State response team to assist at any time the organization of a county party. The state structure has to grow if we are going to meet our mission of electing Libertarian candidates.

We are going to be fighting a battle over the 3rd party status. The TEA party movement is Libertarian in origin but has been taken over by Republicans. Just today the Chairperson of the South Carolina Republican party stated they will not be starting a TEA party branch. These TEA groups are rejecting 3rd parties they need to wake up the major parties are rejecting them. The members of the TEA party groups and the members of the major parties don't know the true history of the Republican or the Democratic parties and the Progressives in those parties are relying on that. Our 1st State chair Charles Blackwell stated and I am adopting "The Democrats want to go 100 miles an hour towards socialism, while the Republicans only want to go 85 an hour. I don't want to make the trip." He knew as I know it doesn't matter which party is in power, t he people are not in power. I hear conservatives say we are going to take control of the Republican Party and fix the Government by putting them back in power. That's great we are going to shift out of overdrive and back into high gear to continue the drive to socialism. Let's educate them so we don't make the trip.

Natural law and Natural rights are the rules of conduct between human beings. These limits of freedom are discovered by reason and based on a moral sense. Not based on religions or churches but based on the inalienable rights granted by their Creator, whoever the individual believes his Creator is. Among these rights are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. The Laws of nature, collectively is what the Constitution and our Republic is based on. Belief in Natural Law is the prime requirement of being a Libertarian. The candidate that understands and believes in Natural law is who we need in Government. Let's get them elected.

To Arms, to arms our county has been invaded from within. This call is to all citizens of our Republic. We don't need a Constitutional Convention we just need to defend the Constitution we have. I took an oath when I was inducted into the U.S. Army to defend the Constitution against enemies both Foreign and Domestic. I never revoked that oath and am prepared to obey it now. Join me in the campaign to elect Libertarians to defend the Constitution our ancestors fought and died for. Support and vote Libertarian. We will reclaim our rights and re-establish the rule of law as envisioned by the Founders.

Thank you and let's get to work. No more debating society but a Political Force.

Politicians are crying wolf on economy

Politicians are crying wolf on economy

A report I just read revealed some interesting facts. In January, President Barack Obama said 2008 was "the single worst year of job losses since World War II." News reports (CNN, ABC, etc.) gave play to this with "highest job losses," "worst job market," etc. The fact is true, but the comparison is bogus.

In 1945, there were only 39 million non-farm persons employed. Today there are 135 million — almost three and one-half times as many — workers. If you compare the severity of job losses, there would need to be more than nine million unemployed workers. In fact, there have been seven times in the past 63 years that the number of unemployed has reached 2 million. On average it occurs every nine years. Comparing the number of unemployed on a percentage basis, there have been eight times the unemployment rate reached our present level. On average, it occurs every eight years.

A senator recently said that if we don't pass the stimulus package that is before Congress, 500 million workers would lose their jobs.
Since there are only 135 million workers, how do they lose their job 3.7 times? With a total population of only 350 million, how can 500 million lose their jobs? How do we elect such uninformed people?

Why are so many politicians and their fellow travelers trying to scare us? When will we recognize they are crying wolf? Is it socialism yet?
