Sarah Carter- Wilmington Massachusetts

 

A brief history

Sarah Davis Jaquith was born in Wilmington, Massachusetts on 24 March 1832; the daughter of Joshua and Sabra (Gowing) Jaquith. She was married in Wilmington to Cyrus Lewis Carter on 5 February 1874. She died in Wilmington on 28 November 1907. Her WILL contained the following: "I give and bequeath to the Town of Wilmington the sum of Six Thousand Dollars in trust to invest the principle sum and to expand the income in maintaining courses of lectures for the benefit of the people of Wilmington"
