MARCH 2005: Deer-Whisperers, Close Comrades, Ballooning, Mummy

(KAThryn and Bob)
Kathy was graced by the blessing of studying another facilitator's course for ordination.
Bob was graced with the kitchen.
And two demanding wood burning stoves.
We spent part of the evening previewing a Gary Renard dvd, produced by Pathways of Light, about Gary's visit there, last May. Bob had the pleasure of seeing him speak to a large crowd, at the Kalahari in Lake Delton, and then drove him to Bumpity Rd., where we joined friends, for the trip to P.O.L., at Kiel, WI. We ended the night with lots of washing. Clothes...
And dishes...
And pillow talk about Kahlil's, "The Prophet" ON GIVING: "You give but little, when you give of your possessions." "It is when you give of yourself, that you truly give." "Therefore, give now, that the season of giving may be yours, and not your inheritors." "See first that you yourself deserve to be a giver, and an instrument of giving."
"For in truth, it is life that gives unto life, while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness." Love and peace, Kathy and Bob

(KAThy and Bob)
Bob was up early, to bless the two hungry ladies. They always begin dining on the tender loving care of those loving hands that have fed them for so many years.
They wet their appetite on dry bark and small branches, worked their way up to gulping small blocks of wood, and then gourged themselves, on the heavier block wood. And of course, what goes in, must come out. And it does. Continually.
In the form of ashes.
It was great to receive a telephone call, from a dear friend Lisa, and again be guided to share the readings of "The Prophet." We talked and laughed with her, and it was like we were together again, in the joy of the
miracle.
We also cosmically clowned, with Brother Duncan. We are always inspired, by his far ranging, and spontaneous, sense of humor. We called our angel, Dana, and as always,
we were very moved by his warmth, openness, and articulateness. We look forward to inspirationally laughing with all three of them, during the workshops here in
April, part of which, they will be conducting, along with others (including Bob and Kathy).
We stood in the Sunset Room for a while, just at sunset tonight, and watched three deer, just outside the windows. It was very moving to see them so close, with their ears moving like radar antennas, while they eye-balled us, everytime we
moved an inch.
Kathy updated the new Dell computer and HP printer, to work compatibly together. This was again, a moment to be grateful for the willingness that it takes, to stay with such tasks, and the seeming "magical" discs, that set up the operational features, for this equipment. Bob made a ton of homemade vegetable soup. He threw in everthing, including the kitchen sink. Things were cooking on that woodstove allllllllll day long. And now, one last look at the dear. Love and joy, KAThy and Bob :-)

Chef Roberto continued a large chili prep with five cups of soy beans (harvested two years ago by Cuzzin' Jerry, cooking on the wood stove for the second day), six pounds of ground venison chuck are defrosting, as are 9 quarts of frozen tomato chunks. About seven or eight pounds of large yellow onions
are on the counter, ready to be sliced and added tomorrow. I expect to have about 18 quarts of chili.
Stop by and have a bowl?
A very large bowl?
We will probably freeze about 12 quarts in three, one gallon ice-cream pails.
Which means that there will be chili here waiting for you. (If you come within the next two weeks). :-)
----------------------
Mary DeMay, just returned from living for two years near Mount Rushmore, stopped by with Phil Manke, to chat with us and catch up on all the changes in our lives.
It was a great pleasure to interact with the two of them. We hope to do some singing with them the next time that they are here.
---------------------
Then Kathryn completed the facilitators part of two courses with Revs. Deb and Paul, via speaker-phone, at Pathways of light. Parts A, the correspondence sections, of courses 1001 and 1002, have now been completed.
It was a joy to talk with them and share some of our recent reading from THE PROPHET, by Kahlil Gibran, the lebanese poet. It was great to share the sense of gratitude that we all have. And the awe. And the humor. Give us a holler?
-------------------------
And as Kahlil said, "And let there be no purpose in friendship, save the deepening of the spirit."
thanks,
your friends eternally,
Bob and Kathy Thompson :-)
WEBBING A NEW SITE, RESTING, AND "HIGH NOON" Friday, March 4, 2005 Bob and Kathy
Kathy was guided to take a day of rest and recuperate from a head cold and cough.
Chef Roberto brought to her bed: cheese omelette and sauteed norland red potatoes, with Amish apple cinnamon toast and orange juice. The heart of the meal was truly, the thickly sliced red potatoes, sliced the long way in "slabs," and sauteed verrrrrry slowly, on the wood cookstove. After several days of feeding her heartily, she has been recovering from her cold, but, we both have gained "some" weight. Fact is, we have both been "gaining" for weeks now. Truth is, we have both been "gaining" for months now.
----------------------------------------------
The unusually warm weather has melted most of the snow so we usually have only one woodstove going to warm the main part of the house. Lots of e-mail and cell phone work throughout the day to initiate the ongoing coordination necessary for the nine days of workshops here from April 2nd to the 9th. Kathryn still recuperating, and Bob off to his mom's, for another competitive and hilarious card playing "shoot out," with cards for bullets at the "O.K. Corral." Bob always walks into the shootout feeling like Randolph Scott in HIGH NOON.
On this particular day, three of us got "shot up purty good." Aunt Eva, my mom, and I, as it turned out, were only armed with "pea shooters." But niece Barbara?
She came in with a machine gun and hosed us down quite dramatically, winning 7 1/2 games out of ten.
The three of us were quite "bullet riddled." Our only ammunition was laughter, and we had tons of that!
---------------------------
Then, back home with pharmacy goodies for Kathy, and more work on creating the new website for The Journey That Never Was.

Bob and Kathy
We ran some e-mail and web site tests, encountered a few more computer glitches, and put them on our "to do" list for tomorrow. Because.... Because, mom called and invited me to get together with her, her sister Eva, and our friend, Peggy, for an afternoon and early evening of cards. I went to Portage for my mom, Peggy went to the boonies for Eva, and we had our shootout here, with several different card games. Kathy made a lentil-rice chicken casserole and Bob served his recent work of art: venison soy bean chili.
Very, very heavy on the big yellow onions and frozen home grown tomatoes in the chili.
And the key secret ingredient?
Very slow cooking, with lots of coarsely ground black pepper. And lots of Tender Loving Care.
Mom liked the chili so much that she took some home with her. We put another three gallons of chili in the freezer. That leaves about another six quarts of chili left over sitting in the fridge, just waiting for you to stop by and share it with us.
--------------------------------------
Life is just one gigantic ball of unravelling yarn, and we are two kittens playfully caught up in its beauty and warm fuzzies, as we roll across our days with gratefulness, laughter, and awe. We'd love to hear from you!

GLITCHES & RICHES, VENISON CHILI, WARMTH & SNOW Monday, March 7, 2005 Bob and Kathy
Lots and lots of computer time, working on one little glitch after another.
In desperation, as a final result we frequently resorted to "trial and error."
If we did it long enough, something would occur. Usually, more glitches. But, eventually, we are working through all of our pre-martial, I mean pre-marital mailing lists, and combining them, culling them, and my gosh, it just goes on and on......
Kathy is a very good person to work with, because of her patience, persistence, creativity, humor, and self-gentleness with an occasionally frustrating technology.
We had two wood stoves heating the house today so it is very warm here, and the casseroles are very hot. Going over e-mail and phone lists brought an awareness to each of us as to how abundantly we are blessed with so many overflowing friendships. If being rich is knowing you already have enough, in this moment, then our cup is continually overflowing.
Not only is the abundance cup mutually overflowing, but the cup keeps getting bigger and bigger, and, would you believe it?..........it is still overflowing....

And it WAS a very good chili, indeed!
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
We are in very complete agreement, it was really tasty. Kathy was feeling better, so we walked to the chili pot quite often. One of the advantages of a wood burning cook stove is that you can put things on the top, or in the oven, and simmer them for a long, long time. Like all day long.
In this case, day after day.
And the taste just keeps on getting better. We have only 32 pints of chili (4 gallons) left in the freezer. When are you coming by to have some with us?
-------------
The windy, sunny days have dried everything off, and most of the snow is off the ground.
Kathy started a new ministerial course and I fed the two stoves, and us, all day.
Kathy has spent time going over mailing lists that she has been accumulating and we did hundreds of selected mailings about The Journey That Never Was, and, put additional entries on the new website at: http://community.webtv.net/gatheringforthejourneythatneverwas We got in some bird watching and have a card table set up in front of the feeder, inside the patio door, so the birds can watch us feed while we're watching the birds, while we are all being watched by the cats.......

More studying for Kathy.
More chili for both of us.
(It just keeps getting better and better!) The last of hundreds of culled e-mails have gone out for The Journey That Never Was workshops in April.
Tonight is the last night on our cell phone billing cycle so we had extra minutes to call friends in Florida, Wyoming, Kentucky, and Wisconsin.
It was particularly inspirational to talk with Jonathan and Daybree way down in Tampa, Florida.
We enjoy them, and Nancy, Robert, and Skip, so much, that we are thinking about driving down to St. Petersburg and Tampa, to visit them. They are five angels in our lives.
Four of them witnessed, and each spoke at, our Orchard Union Ceremony, back on October 9, 2004.
The fifth lived with us a while until the cooler Wisconsin weather encouraged him to migrate back to sunny Florida. We made appointments to stay with travel club hosts in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday night, and will be with several friends going to movies etcetera, during Friday afternoon and evening. The travel club gratuity is fifteen dollars per night per couple, and includes breakfast. We do this because it is cheaper than being at home. Bob researched the reviews on about 30 movies playing in the capital area, and where they are playing, very inexpensively. Time permitting we hope to take that magnificent walk down State Street, from the capital to the Student Memorial Union on Lake Mendota......which just happens to pass the two storied Parthenon Restaurant with a balcony overlooking State Street and all the passers-by......while one indulges in the most fantastic gyros.......

Snow, snow, snow.
It's beautifully landscaped in carpets of white. And it is still falling. Swirling around the cedars like an impressionistic painting. Sitting at the kitchen table with our coffee, and cinnamon and raisin wheat bagels, toasted and smothered with peanut butter! Right next to Miss Monarch, laying all that good wood heat on us while we watch the snow falling on cedars.
Kathy finished course #1101: Spiritual Awakening Group Facilitator Training. Lots of reading, writing, and several shared meditations with me, then on the speaker phone to share with Rev Deb up at P.O.L. It was great to share with Deb, with insights coming to both Kathy and Deb. Bob noticed laughter and outbursts of joy throughout their time together! Kathy is very grateful for the openness with which they are able to embrace their lessons.
.............
And the snow kept on falling.
And the birds came to the feeder in herds, requiring it to be refilled. Baked mashed potatoes and sauteed onions with venison soybean chili. Pineapple for dessert, and a little later, a BIG pan of popcorn! Our bags are packed and by the door.
It's Madison we are heading for.
Who cares if it snows (and their may be more). Tomorrow morning, we'll be out that door. On Saturday we'll turn our reindeer towards Illinois, and become part of the gifts at a birthday party. Maybe do a little bit of singin'.
Acappella back and forth a bit.
......................
Love all that snow.
Gorgeous.
Like watching a beautiful still life, winter landscape painting, that has suddenly come alive!
Beauty, beauty, everywhere.
..............................................
In closing, a few words from our lebanese poet buddy, Kahlil: ...beauty is life, when life unveils her holy face. But you are life, and, you are the veil. Beauty is eternity, gazing at itself, in a mirror. But, your are eternity, and, you are the mirror. (Thank-you, Mr. Gibran.)

peacefully joyous,

and other tidings of great joy)

ANGELS, ANGELS, EVERYWHERE, NO MATTER WHERE WE LOOK! Friday, March 11, 2005
Sure did take a while to load up that little Saturn, taking all those non-essential things for our weekend trip. We did visit the Amish Bakery before we left, and our final act after loading the car was to eat an Amish Cinnamon Roll.
We took a loaf of Amish Cinnamon-Apple Bread for our travel hosts in Madison, and spent several hours talking with this fascinating couple, Barbara and Bill. We enjoyed them so much that the time flew by and we missed one of the movies we wanted to see that afternoon in Madison. But, we eventually met with Duncan at the Market Square theater for the two dollar matinee of The House of Flying Daggers which had superb photography, natural scenery, special effects, lots of incredible and magical martial arts, and a Romeo and Juliet theme. Then, the three of us picked up Randi, and went to Ido's for a Japanese (and Chinese) buffet. They even had a sushi bar. We spent several hours there, sampling lots and lots of oriental dishes. We arrived back at our travel hosts by 10 p.m. and they were still up, so we had another diverse conversation that lasted a couple of hours. Barbara shared a book that she had printed herself on her computer that was a true story of one of her missionary relatives in China. Barbara had received the letters that the missionary teacher in China had written to his fiancee in the U.S. After she joined him in China, he died of smallpox, one month before their son was born. That son kept his father's letters and gave them to his daughter, who gave them to Barbara.
The book Barbara put together, all by herself, was more attractive than most professionally printed books. Her book was a real work of art. One of Bill's hobbies is monitoring computerized data for the Arecibo Observatory, located in Puerto Rico.
SETI, the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence sends data to volunteers with high speed computers to process recordings of radio waves from the universe to look for abnormalities that might indicate messages being sent from other worlds. Bill said that there have been, and are, a total of about four million people with high speed computers, processing this data for the Arecibo Observatory.

After a great breakfast the next morning, we drove to Illinois for grandson Lucas' birthday party, with about 24 kids (mostly third-graders) and a dozen adults for guests. We did a balloon release to commemorate the birthday of Lucas' twin sister, Kayla, who had died when she was about one year old. So, this was the eighth year that a dedication has been made to his twin, Kayla, with the balloon release. It was an awesome experience, to see the multi-colored souls of all those balloons flying up to heaven and then flying away, high in the distance.
The party was a beautiful celebration where so many shared with so many, and the children had lots of games to play for prizes. The assortment of all the appetizers, main dishes, and desserts was endless and irresistible.
That evening we had time to play, talk , and relax with our two host angels, Gary and Edna, and their five little angels. Five of the children stayed over.
And an angel named Kierstin, at her request, slept beside us on a special bed.

The six boys were up early and Gary was the chef that got them all fed, including us. There were also lots of fruit and entree leftovers. It was a wonderful visit that morning over a long breakfast with the parents of the five angels.
That evening, the parents went out for dinner and shopping, while the angels babysat the grandparents.
Heaven sent three large pizzas, that brought us all together before watching the movie Bruce Almighty.
When dad and mom came home, we had a nice chat about a jillion things and were very grateful to these perfect hosts. It is always a blessing to be with them and we, Kathy and Bob, accept the title of being their Number One Baby Sitters, even though it is the grandchildren that "take care of us."
Actually, we are the only "babysitters." It was nice to get to bed before midnight and relax, relax, relax (from all that food). As always, they are all a lot of fun, interesting, entertaining, and inspiring. Sounds like a couple of grandparents, doesn't it? peacefully joyous, Bob and Kathryn

KAThy and Bob
It was a great morning to wake up, whenever we're ready to. We weren't awakened when the angel children left for school, but we know that they see our eternal light of love always shining with them. We got up, after a while, to visit with Edna, before she left, at 10:30 a.m. It was great to have another blessing, to talk with Gary, Edna, and Sophia, before leaving there. They are such bright angels, and it is always such an honor to share with them! We loaded up the car, and started back to Bumpity Rd. We made a stop in Madison, for Bob to have a tooth extracted. He went in, and came out pretty quickly. It is rare to find Bob speechless. This found him pretty much that way. When we were close to home, we got a phone call from Skip, in Florida, to talk with him. That was a great treat.
We got back to Bumpity Rd., and unloaded the car. Then, turned on the heaters, to warm the house up.
We rested for a little while. Then, went back to town, for the book group at the library. This is enjoyable, to share and talk with the people.
It is a great opportunity, to do this, and Bob always asks the group a few questions, and they sometimes get an answer. We took a few books to Bob's mother's house, and visited with her. Then, came back to Bumpity Rd., driving very carefully, to avoid hitting a deer.

The woodstove called to Kathy to get up to start it, this morning. She did that, and Bob came down too.
Bob decided to go back to bed, soon after that, to rest his jaw. Kathy stayed up a little while longer, to bless the stove. Then, went back to bed for a while.
Then, Kathy stayed up with Miss Monarch. It was great. Bob came downstairs, after a while, and offered to watch the stove, while Kathy worked on Course #201. We started the course on our weekend trip, and finished it today. Another lesson, embraced in the miracle of blessings. Kathy came downstairs, to take breaks, and embrace the beautiful mirror shining so brightly!
Everything is sooooooooo beautiful, and we are forever grateful for it

(KAThy and Bob)
Today is Bob's blessed day of birth!!!!!!!!! The phone rang early, with a call from Bob's mom. I, Kathy was still upstairs resting. Then, Aunt Eva called, to send jubilations of joy to Bob. I came downstairs, and sang "Happy Birthday" to him, along with another greeting for this joyful moment of gratitude! At one point, later in the day, we were making a call, and I told Bob that I'm his birthday present eternally! Our friend, Phil called, to see if we could give him a ride to run an errand. Kathy decided to go with him, to give Bob a chance to stay home and reflect on this day. (and also cook a fantastic split-pea soup, and, barbecued venison sloppy joe, with lots of extra cooked for The Friday Night Pre-Dream Dinner Group)
Phil got here soon, and Kathy left with him. It was a great day to drive in the country with Phil, and share the blessings of every moment. Bob made some split pea soup, that we had a bowl of, before and after this little trip. It was a feast for angels. There is nothing like it. Back at Bumpity Rd., we rested in, and embraced the moment of miracles. Kathy has continued to sing songs of gratitude for this beautiful joining. It is such an awesome blessing, to have such a powerful and clear mirror. Peace and joy,
Kathy and Bob

The morning greeted us, to rise, and fire up both stoves, Miss Monarch in the kitchen, and Miss Atlanta, in the Sunrise Room. It is great to come downstairs, and feel them both warming everything up. KAThy continued working on another course, #1102: Healing Inner Child Group Facilitator Training and completed a part of it. Barbara Weaver stopped by, and we visited with her for a while. It was great to see and laugh with her. She is always so much fun, and great to see her candor and honesty, with both of us. Then, Cuzzin' Jerry stopped by. We had just started cleaning the house,
when he came into the Sunrise Room.
We shared homemade venison and
soybean chili and talked with him, about his work with the Humane Society. He
eagerly brings animals out of any location, very easily. It is a blessing, to see him do it so easily and eagerly. He live trapped and released about twelve skunks, last Summer. He thinks nothing about doing that, because he likes skunks. He says that dealing with animals, is like
being with people, you just have to know how to treat them. We continued cleaning things up here at Bumpity Road, for all the visitors, who are coming this weekend.
Lots of furniture was rearranged, in different combinations. Bumpity Road, is ready for a loving gathering of friends. Love and peace, KAThy and Bob :-)
DREAMING, MOVING MOVIES, CARD-SLINGERS, AND COMMUNION. Friday, March 18, 2005
KAThy and Bob
We were up, preparing the inn for the many friends, coming for another weekend of miracles.
Kathy and Bob, cooked, to prepare food for everyone. Wow, the food included sweet potatoes, yellow rice, creamed onions, venison chili, split pea soup, baked Yukon Gold potatoes, fruit cocktail and jello, baked beans, kaiser and wheat rolls. Thennnnnnnnn, Duncan brought a pumpkin pie, that he made himself, Mel brought Edy's strawberry ice cream, and Monty came with many fresh veggies, for a tossed salad! We were busting out at the seams, with food to eat, and after it was eaten. Whewwwwwwwwwww! The Dream Interpretation Group started, at 7:00 pm. It was quite interesting, to hear what everyONE shared, from their insights and experiences.
Spirited inspirational conversations were enjoyed, for several additional hours. It is always amazing, how so many thoughts come up, when you are with those who feel comfortable to share with ONE another. Thank you Spirit!
Love and peace,
KAThy and Bob :-)

Kathryn and Bob
KAThy was up early, to talk with Deb and Paul, about Course # 1102: Healing Inner Child Group Facilitator Training. We embraced the blessing, of the moment, and finished. Yeaaaaaaa, this is completes all the courses, other than one Kathy is doing with Bob and Deb, 901: Introduction to Miracles Practice.
Then, she will be doing the Course #:2000, the week that she and Bob go to Pathways of Light, before Kathy's ordination. It was very synchronistic, as Duncan came downstairs, just as Kathy was finishing talking with Deb and Paul.
Then, we had a "day at the movies," here at Bumpity Road, with Phil Manke and Mary De May, Peggy, Duncan, Bob and Kathy, watching: "Sphere," which Duncan checked out of the library.
Then, we watched "What the Bleep Do
We Know?" Duncan and Dana made a copy of this for us, while visiting the Peace House, in Cincinnati, OH.
Phil, Mary, and Peggy left, and Duncan, Bob and Kathy watched: "Minority Report."
All three movies bring up thoughts that might make you ponder the significance of perceptions.
We all worked diligently to make a dent in the leftovers. There are still many, come and see us. Love and joy, Kathy and Bob

Leftovers for breakfast.
It is always a Treat, to have Duncan here at Burpity Road, thank you sooooooooo much, dear brother! We digested, about the many inspirations of life!
We accepted an invitation to the Okay Corral, from Great Great Grandma Helen Thompson.
Bob left early, to go to his Mom's and play cards, with Aunt Eva, and neice Barbara Thompson, who is now TOP GUN, at the card shootout. Duncan and Kathy stayed at Bumpity, and
enjoyed the stillness here. Then, we joined the gang, at Great Great Grandma Thompson's house.
Kathy and Duncan went into town, at 4 pm, to join them. We pulled up a chair, to the card shark table, and watched it come together, for Barb to round them up to win, once again.
Then, Helen brought out a delicious casserole, veggies, bread, which everyone enjoyed a lot.
Aunt Eva got a chocolate birthday cake for Bob, to surprise him. Duncan and Kathy got some Neopolitan ice cream, to add the finishing touch to it.
It was a fun celebration, shared by everyone. We brought Aunt Eva and Barbara Thompson back to Bumpity Road, to watch another movie: "Trapped in Paradise."
This movie is great, to share about the joy of what happens, when one is willing to embrace love in the moment.
Another day in paradise has been shared, once again, at Bumpity Road. Thank you everyone, for joining us in a great weekend: Duncan, Dana, Monty, Prem, Hersh, Mel, Barbie T., Aunt Eva, Helen T., Phil, Mary, Kathy, Bob, Cuzzin Jerry and Peggy.
Love peace,
KAThy and Bob :-)
HAPPY BALLOONING, BUGGING,
Monday, March 21, 2005
Kathy and Bob
A very relaxing morning and afternoon, with our friend, Duncan. Eating, reading, writing, and quiet time. Birdwatching....... Catwatching........
Sunwatching.......
Playing...........
With balloons. They are large punch balloons, that we get, which can be slung far and wide. We
share them, to greet anyone at Bumpity, to write joyful thoughts about them. These ideas go with them, whevever they go, and touch anyone who comes through the doors here, at any moment. The three of us wrote a balloon for each person, with all the words that we could think of, that described that person for us. Then, we hung our balloons, along with others, on the blades of the two overhead fans with long rubber bands, in the
Sunrise Room.
And then?
We turned the fans on....
Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And we quietly sat, and watched the flying balloons........ In the center of the two ceiling fans, in the Sunrise Room, is a light. Thus, each person's different colored balloon, with a multitude of written affirmations, continually circled around the light.
And so, we sat there, fascinated.
Watching ourselves, continually flying around the light.... And watched
some more.....
And grinnnned and smiled a lot! :-):-):-) Like angels.
Spreading our wings.......
_________________________________
We experimented with different speeds of the fan. That proved rather interesting. :-)
When you visit us, remind us to make a new balloon for you! You can even take it home with you.
And, hang it on your own ceiling fan. :-)
_____________________________
Then, we rested, in the lightness and peace here. It is so great, to sit back and embrace the light!
_____________________________
We did workshop preparation, speaker coordination, and clearing e-mail boxes, to handle life easily.
----------------------------------------------
After a weekend, which included a dozen
diverse, but inspirational guests, each of us now has quiet time for the Self, and the other.
The blessing of having great comrades, to be part of our family. The abundant blessing of partnership. True partnership, where we see each other as J.C., love in action. :-)
And, many windows, to view the natural world. Ahhhhhhhhh...... The sacredness of community. Ahhhhhhhhhh..... The sacredness of solitude. Love and peace,
KAThryn and Robert :-)

Mirror, mirror. Thank you for the blessing, that is seen in this powerful reflection......
Miss Monarch called Bob downstairs to be fed, she's always hungry for another slab of oak or hickory.
Then, when he rang the chimes, the cats were all lined up, waiting to be fed.....
This country living, carries everything along easily. We are learning to get out of our own way. We had several wrestling matches with the new Dell computer, and, the HP printer/scanner.
The machines won, everytime.
It is humbling, to be temporarily overcome, by buttons. Button, button, who's got the button?
Not me!
In moments of crisis like this, we have found two solutions:
1. Open the refrigerator, or,
2. Take a nap
We have done a lot of both of these today. As I write this, the Dell computer looks at me, with a twinkle in it's eye. It says, I'm only a computer, come on, embrace the miracle in the moment.
----------------------------------------------
Melting continues, and most of the ground is now bare. A little stream of melting water is running between the house and woodshed.
----------------------------------------------
The awesomeness of every experience shines, as a strong message of joining,
and how profound it is to be united in holy relationship.

Bob vanquished about 2,000 box alder bugs, on the sunny south side of the house today.
He filled an empty gallon milk jug with water, drilled a hole in the plastic cap, and added two tablespoons of Joy liquid dishwashing soap. By squeezing the plastic, he was able to spray several hundred at a time, where they were clustered up. Then, he filled two water pistols with a half teaspoon of Joy dish water soap, filled the guns with water, and soaked those that were ten feet high, on the side of the house. They were released, to go home now.
As Bob raised his coffee cup, just now, a box alder waved to him, from his wrist watch.
The bug probably came inside because..... it was too dangerous to be
outside.
This is all part of life on the farm.
----------------------------------------------
A quiet day, at Bumpity Road.
When are you coming to visit?
Peacefully joyous,
Kathy and Bob

(Kathy and Bob)
We went to Madison to the Market Square Theatre this afternoon. Our friends, Duncan and niece Barb Thompson met us there, to see the movie "Racing Stripes," a story about a zebra, that became a race horse. The story showed many of the experiences that a father and daughter went through, in having a home for the zebra. The zebra saw itself as a race horse, while roaming the pastures, on their farm. The father and daughter saw the beauty of the zebra, that shined from within. They felt it so strongly, that they were guided to train the zebra to become a race horse.
Of course, all the animals could speak to each other. (Whoopi Goldberg's voice, was the goat). They said many heart felt words, while talking in the barn and fields.
Between movies, Bob said that there was an Espresso Coffee Shop, around the corner. We got there, just as they were closing, but the espresso lady willingly let us in.
Then, back to the "Incredibles." This is a new Disney movie, about super heroes, that have retired, to become anonymous, and raise a family. Their three children also have super abilities. Even the baby. It was quite a show of special effects, marvels, and showing that anything which
is embraced with enthusiasm and joy is the way to be happy. Then, Duncan decided to go home.
Bob, Barb, and I went to Perkins, for a late dinner, to share patty melts. Mmmmmmm,
that is a delicious sandwich.
It was a great time, to talk with Barb. She is open and curious, to talk about anything, that comes to mind. It is great! Thank you Barb, for this fantastic opportunity, once again. Then, we left to head back toward Bumpity Road, and got home at around midnight. Whew, it was great, to get home. It is nights like this, that make us very grateful, to see the light shining by the door here. Love and joy, Kathy and Bob

Kathy and Bob
This day has been full of hoeing, cleaning, cultivating with a hand tiller, picking up wood, in the wheelbarrow. It is a strong expression of "life on the farm." Kathy enjoyed helping Bob till outside, to get ready for an herb garden. It is exciting to do this, and see what happens. Kathy worked with a one wheel hand cultivator. It was a fun experience to watch the five little blades turning up the earth. Just hang onto the two handles, and push. It is a one-woman-power machine, for which she is very grateful. It is amazing what this little tool can do. The herb garden is 10' x 16,' or 160 square feet. Bob says that we've only got 85,000 square feet left to do. This is great, and gives a lot of opportunity to clear the mind of thoughts, that aren't helpful. This is almost two acres, of garden area. A garden by the steel barn. A garden, by the woodshed. A garden, by the orchard. And over the hill? Gardens, gardens, gardens. We will begin planting in the herb garden, in a couple of weeks. The ground was soft, and easily tilled, on the south side of the house, but the ground on the north side of the house is still frozen solid. Such are the blessings, for those who indulge in early gardening. Wild geese waved at and talked to us, repeatedly, honking away, with great enthusiasm.
The sand hill cranes bugled back and forth, across the sky. These are all the voices of spring.
Welcoming themselves, into our lives.
Then, we went in, and did some e-mailing, before going to rest the night away.
Love and peace,
Kathy and Bob

(KAThy and Bob)
When we awoke, we decided to start working on Course #901:Introduction to Miracles Practice.
This is a great opportunity to embrace the light within, and see that this is soooooooo divinely orchestrated, for us to do this course together.
After a couple of hours of that, we caught up on all of our e-mails. Then, Bob went outside to hoe, rake and till again. He worked with the tractor and long chain, to pull a small tree out of one of the garden areas.
The south patio area now looks really neat. Our hoeing and tilling has only just begun. While he was doing this, Kathy cleaned inside. Getting the OK Corral ready for the card shoot-out, tomorrow. It looks pretty shiny, for the gang to meet around the table, for the quick draws, aiming for the TOP GUN (Barbie Thompson, winner of the last two card shoot-outs).
And now, for our nightcap, back to Course #901. Love and joy, Kathy and Bob

We welcomed the day, by clearing the way, for the card masters to come in from the road.
Then, everything rounded up for the Okay Corral, here at Bumpity Rd.. Bob went to pick Aunt Eva up. Bob's mom, Helen, and niece, Barbara Thompson arrived, a little after Bob and Eva got here. The card table was set, for the gang to play their card-shuffling, and card-slinging way.
The whole day, the scores were pretty close, with Eva pretty close to Barbara T. all day.
Bob came very close after, while enjoying the fun of being with loved ones.
Helen had the chance to be with everyone, and have some fun. Kathy played, with Bob's over the shoulder assistance a lot today, and enjoyed the blessing of being included.
Nice niece, Barbie Thompson was the top-gun, for this, the third shoot-out, in a row.
Kathy rounded up the food, to have chicken tenders and tuna salad. Bob made some delicious sweet potato soup. Everyone enjoyed this a lot. Then, we finished, by having the cookies of sweetness, that Eva homemade. They were delicious.
Helen and Barb loaded up the SUV.
Then, Bob and Kathy took Aunt Eva home.
We came back home, and were grateful to enjoy the pleasure of living in the country.
Love and joy,
Kathy and Bob

Kathy and Bob
We started the day by working on Course #901 for several hours today. The insights that come to us while doing this give a light of what is happening in all that we are guided to do. Then, we took a break, to start clearing the rooms for all the visitors coming soon. Bob cleared out the room, where we had been storing potatoes and onions. We now have 65 pounds of potatoes, and 95 of onions left. We had a total of 607 pounds, a little after the time that Kathy returned here, in November. The phone rang, and Barbara Weaver called to say that she wanted to come and bring her friend, Cheri, over with her. They got here, and Cheri said that she had purchased a booklet that Bob wrote, about wolves. One day they were talking about wolves, and Barb talked about the booklet. Cheri said that she had gotten it one time, and was excited that Barb knows Bob.
Cheri felt right at home, in meeting Bob. Bob gave her another booklet, about his mother too. It was great to share with them both. We told them that we'd like to make balloons, on which we put both of their names, with words that describe them to us. We did this, and shared many words, that clearly describe the angels that they are. Then, we had a moist feast of chicken and vegetables, which Kathy slow cooked. It was mmmmmmmm good.
We did another lesson in Course 901.
It has been a day, packed with miracles again. Joyous love, Kathy and Bob

GOOD FRIENDS, MORE GOOD FRIENDS, A LOVELY RAINY DAY, & MUMMY.

The morning brought us down to study Course #901. We started with a meditation.
Then, we shared our thoughts about it.
When we had been working on the course for a while, a vehicle pulled up to the door. It was Bob's youngest sister, Rita and her boyfriend, Herm. We welcomed and visited with them for a while, about the miracles of being willing to let Spirit guide our lives. It was great to have this opportunity to talk with them.
This is the first time that we met Herm. He is a very nice man. We are so happy and grateful that they have met, and are enjoying being together.
We started doing the course again, when they left. It is a great opportunity to embrace the miracle of the moment, through this experience.
We send our responses to Deb Frantz, who is the minister facilitating the course with us. Then, she responds.
It is great to do this, and share our gratitude for being in this miracle together.

Today, Cuzzins' Jerry and Bill stopped by when we got up. We visited with them for a while.
It was great to talk with them.
Jerry said that he'd been doing a lot of training as a volunteer fireman.
Bill looked at "The Journey that Never Was," while they were here. Bill asked us if we'd found a plant that he was looking for, when they came by before. We hadn't, and told them about some training that Link's Greenhouse is having close to here, and asked them if they wanted to go over to Link's with us.
They agreed to go.
Billy (the missing) Link (the owner ) is very friendly. He took us around and showed us some of the trees that he has available, and gave some ideas about them, and planting in general. Bob and I registered to take a class about grafting limbs on apple trees, that he is holding on April 14. That is very helpful to us, since we have about 25 apple trees in the orchard here. I feel like it will be very informative. Link's Greenhouse is also very close (geographically), 2 miles from Bumpity Rd., so that is great! We came back and studied the lessons some more. Bob did quite a bit of raking outside. We also said goodbye to many bugs too.
I cleaned one of the rooms inside, and that flowed along.

(KAThy and Bob)
Bob got up to talk with Charlie, and send an entry to the minister's journal with Pathways of Light.
He also sent it to some other people.
We've gotten a few responses to that already today, from friends in California, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Louisiana, and Illinois. If you'd like to read the journal, go to:
http://pathwaysoflight.org/journals/thompson.php You can find additional titles under: VIEW BY DATE, at that website. We responded to e-mails and other correspondence. Bob found places to hide about 150 pounds of potatoes and onions, down from over 300 pounds, since last November. Kathy continued to clean a room, to make room in the inn, for all of the visitors coming soon.
Bob was out watching the birds, when Kathy joined him. Then, we took an afternoon siesta, which was very nice, serenaded by strong winds, heavy rain, lightning and thunder. What a concert!

We opened the day, by listening to a meditation in Course 901 of: Identifying with the Light of God Within. It is a very powerful meditation, and lets one see what brings the mind to embrace the stillness easily.
Whenever we do a meditation like this, it is a welcoming to the innocence of BEing in the moment, and to embrace what is happening NOW. It takes us into a beautiful and peaceful feeling. Then, while making phone calls, and things around the house, Brother Phil came over with some fresh grown eggs. The telephone rang, and it was Helen, Bob's mother. She hadn't been able to sleep last night, and asked us to take her to her doctor. We got to her house, and the doctor quickly. They called Helen in fast. The doctor was very informative and nice. We got clear about how Helen is to take her medicines, and brought her out to Bumpity Rd. with us.
She ate a little bit of food. We warmed up one of the rooms for her, and she slept for 2-3 hours.
She woke up, and felt so good that she asked for us to take her home. On our way to take her home, she was telling Bob what to do about some of the planting or landscaping at Bumpity, so I knew she was feeling better again.
She was glad to get back to her home sweet home, and her two black cats, Midnight and Blackie.
We went to the library, and since we were in town, had to make a pilgrimage to the Popcorn Stand to get a Family Size bag of popcorn with lots of butter. It will probably take us at least a few days to eat all the popcorn, but, such are the challenges we have to occasionally face. We came back to Bumpity Rd., and are taking care of things here, in preparation for the nine days of workshops, beginning on Saturday. Love and joy,
KAThy and Bob
