.
Bob went over to Mom's O.K. Corral for a card-playing-shootout with Mom HELLen, Mother Superior, and Sis Rose Marie.
.
Bob was the top card slinger (two in a row now!), so they will probably
be laying for him next time with "machine guns."   :-)
.
Lots of sliced watermelon left on the kitchen table (under glass) for finger food, throughout the day.
.
Lots of melon eaten by all!
.
(Only about 60 watermelons left.)   :-)
.
And lots of different kinds of winter squashes, baked, and eaten as a dessert!
.
We ended the evening with a DVD of: The Other Side Of Heaven.
.
An excellent movie!
.

.
Sean and Bob outside splitting wood with a huge steel handled, 16 pound, monster mall,
.
And then two haywagon loads of wood brought down to the house and stacked in the patio tomato garden area.
.
Also, another haywagon load of watermelons and winter squashes brought down to the house from the steel barn, and carried into the "bunkhouse" room.
.
Lots of work done labeling our new 21 item CD.
Muchas, muchas gracias to Sean and Sylvia, for making this possible.
.
Sylvia and Kathy working inside during the day, Bob and Sean, outside.
.
Mel arrived late in the evening from Oklahoma and we took a few hours to catch up, before toddling off to bed.

.
Breakfast for Bob and Mel, before Mel left on her midwest errands.
.
Sean and Bob, each on a different big tractor, to give Sean experiencing in shifting gears and plowing.
.
Sometimes, side by side, sometimes following the leader!
.
Sean also passed the tractor obstacle course, between trees, etc., following the leader, after Bob.
.
Cuzzin Billy gifted us with about15 breads and pastries (Billy had a pick-up load of goodies for us to choose from).
.
Billy also helped pick a heaping wheelbarrow full of rutagagas.
.
One of them weighed about 12 1/2 pounds!
.
We washed and scrubbed them in the 300 gallon rainwater tank (after breaking the ice).   :-)
.
We also took down about 120 feet of fencing and steel posts, that had been for our multiple plantings of pole beans, peas, and cucumbers.
.
All the rutabagas were tucked in and put to bed in the "bunkhouse room."
.
Sylvia went shopping and Kathy worked on e-mails.
.
Cleaning, cooking, compost, and household chores are a constant task.
.
Supper tonight was roast pork with Red Norland and Yukon Gold potatoes, yellow onions, and carrots (thank-you, Cuzzin' Billy, for the burlap bag with lots of orange veggies).
.
Sean and Sylvia washing, packing, and helping Kathy learn how to record live CDs on the Dell Computer.
.
The large roasting pan of leftovers is still being sampled before bedtime.
.
About 70 steel posts and 3 sections of fencing have all been stored in the pole barn for next year, thank-you, Sean. :-)
.
This is Sylvia and Sean's last night here, before they leave tomorrow for an overnight, Saturday, with Frannie in Ohio, then the next night, Sunday, in Pennsylvania with Lisa and Peter, and then they leave Pa. on Monday, to drive Sylvia to the New York Airport for her return flight to South America (at 3 a.m.,Tuesday).
.
Veggies and seeds packed for Sean's family.
.
Mel returned from her errands, also, her trip to Mad City, and then to a Dream Interpetation Group, and finally, to a verrrrrrry late supper of roast pork and veggies at BumpityRoad.
.
We are now into the wee hours, and we are all still busy little beavers!
  :-)

.
Lots of moving and inspirational sharings with Sean and Sylvia, before they hugged us, and Mel (Carmella), goodbye.
.
We do feel that they are always with us, and we also, are with them, wherever they may be.
.
Bob over to get Aunt Eva (a.k.a. Mother Superior) to play a few card games with mom.
.
Her Holiness, Mother Superior (age 82), was the afternoon's top gunslinger, excuse me.......... cardslinger. :-)
.
Mel and Kathy watched the enchanting, love story, movie: MUST LOVE DOGS.
.
Bob did his reading and skimming through two complete novels from the public libary.
.

.
Golly, did we sleep in late!
.
Till noon!
.
Dragan, a friend from Illinois, (who was born and grew up in Bosnia), and Bob, scouted the property a second time for "deer stands" to use during the Thanksgiving Weekends, 9 day local gun deer season.
.
We lunched with Dragan before he left and then suppered again, after Mel (Carmella) arrived, after dark.
.
Kathy washing clothes and dishes, Mel peeling apples for pastries (Kathy now joining Mel, paring knife in hand), and Bob, playing with this keyboard. :-)
.

A peaceful morning, with much chatting and sharings with, Mel, before she left for Madison, and her plane trip back to the grandchildren in Oklahoma.
.
Kathy resting with her cold, today,
.
Bob has both woodstoves going, in the Sunrise Room, and in the kitchem.
.
Soup on the stove top.
.
Several varieties of winter squash, baking in the oven of Miss Monarch..
.
It is a good feeling to know that all veggies have been harvested from all 9 gardens, and, that all of them are now stored in the "bunkbed room."
.
We look forward to winter, and maybe even getting "snowbound" for a while? :-)
.

.
Over to the Marcellon Grade School a few miles away to vote, and chat with a few local friends at the voting place.
.
Then on to Mom Helen's to chat with Mom and Bob's sister Ruth, who is always well informed on local news and people, as she drove taxicab for many years in Portage.
.
Shopping a bit for tractor gas, etc., and Bob picking up a deer hunting license, for
the first time in many years.
.
(Deer damage in the gardens this year, was the most extensive and ongoing, ever.)
.
A stop at Dorothy's for 8 dozen eggs and then home to scramble 6 (eggs), of them!
.
Green onions from the garden were incredibly tasty!
.
We sure have been eating alot of eggs, winter squashes, and watermelons, lately.
.

.
Bob in the attic, Kathy in the kitchen.
.
Bob testing 3 rifles and ammo outside, in the north gardens, making selections for deer harvesting.
.
Indian Summer is here, and it is gorgeous!
.
Quite warm outside, and verrrrrrrrry warm in the attic. :-)
.
Kitchen and computer work.
.
Kitchen woodstove baking a big tray of 4 LARGE butternut squash.
.
E-mailings and meanderings, to and fro, in and out.
.
A gentle day, unfolding quietly.
.

Thursday, November 9, 2006
.
Busy, busy day!
.
Kathy working in the kitchen, Sunrise Room, floors, etc.
.
Bob working on his deer stand, stacking firewood by the house, and doing lots of tractor and cultivator work in the gardens, turning over weeds and earth for next year's plantings.
.
Le Roi joined us for supper of stir fries, rice, and baked butternut squash.
.
After supper, Bob asked Le Roi questions about bicycling in general, and internationally.
.
Le Roi was very well informed and articulate about presenting a spontaneous narrative that was wide ranging and interesting.
.
His presentation was worthy of a podium and a multitude of listeners.
.
Thus, the evening gently passed away, listening to Le Roi's enthusiastic personal tales about specific international racers that he admired.
.

.
Watermelon for an eye-opener, this morning.
.
After harvesting over 4,300 pounds of watermelon this year, we are down to refrigerating our last 5 watermelons.
.
Kathy and Le Roi are out picking lettuce, probably for the last time this year.
.
We have really enjoyed the Mesclum Mix Lettuce Seed, not only because it does so well in our soil, but also because of the variety of different lettuce colors, leaf shapes, textures, and flavors.
.
After loading the car and lunching, we three were off for the weekend to Chilton, Kiel, Plymouth, and Pathways of LIght.
.
Most of the drive was through a snowstorm that greatly reduced visibility near the end of our journey.
.
Many cars in ditches and a few close calls for ourselves.
.
The heavy Cadillac with its new tires turned out to be a lifesaver. Literally.
.
After dropping Le Roi off at Gerry and Marilyn's, in Chilton, we suppered with Don and Sally near Kiel.
.
Gettin there for supper, proved very iffy because of drifting snow and very poor visibility.
.
When they encourage us to stay over, we did not hesitate, but gratefully accepted.
.
What a great relief to snuggle into a warm bed near Kiel, and not have to try to drive through a snowstorm to our originally planned destination near Plymouth with David and Linda.
.
Sharon joined us for supper and we had a great time chatting with our hosts, and fellow-guest, Sharon.
.
Donnie was a major contributor to our very lively and hilarious conversations.
.

.
The Saturday workshops at Pathways were inspirational, ineresting, and fun. All of them planned and presented by different Pathways Ministers.
.
Some of the attendees had traveled quite a distance, two from New Jersey, 3 from Minnesota, etc.
.
Visiting with old friends was delightful, and we made new friends, some of whom we will probably be seeing again, here at Bumpity Road.
.
The meals and unplanned small group sharings, contributed much to a warm community atmosphere throughout the weekend.
.
Twenty-five of us suppered together at the nearby Millhomme Supper Club.
.
Don shared many innovative and interesting experiences from his nearly 30 years as a special education teacher.
.
We then spent the night with Linda and David, near Plymouth.
.
It is always interesting to talk with David about his bakery business, and, to sample a variety of his artistic bread creations!
.
Another night with warm, interesting friends, who were great hosts!
.

.
Up early and back to Pathways for our 9 a.m. presentation of MEDITATION THROUGH SONG, which highlighted the three songs: Swinging From A Star, It's Only A Thought, and, I Know Just What To Do.
.
An informal survey conducted afterwards by Bob, suggested that each of the three songs was a favorite for different attendees. :-)
.
Kathy sang the solos, with Bob doing the introductions.
.
Kathy's singing meditation of Swinging From A Star, resulted in a number of poignant sharings from the group.
.
And a big "thank-you," to California Granddaughter, Jaqueline, for being the inspiration for this song during a California river walk when she playfully took her grandpa into a very quick and relaxing meditation, not once but three times!
.
A Pathways Membership Meeting proved very interesting as we reviewed the financial year and the upcoming changes in the ordination programs as influenced by innovative technologies such as tele-conferencing, local ordination ceremonies conducted by ministers worldwide, etc.
.
Le Roi (The King, in French), rejoined us for a tour of Don and Sally's farmette, which proved to be very interesting because Don is such an avid and diverse collector, including his first tractor, ever, a 50 year old Farm All Tractor that he had just purchased that day, and driven for the first time!
.
We were gifted with smoked salmon, venison, and sausage, and by the time we left, felt that we had been visiting Santa Claus!
.
The two hour drive home went rather quickly as we three had continuous conversation about our weekend's experiences and the interesting people that we had met.
.
Getting the car unpacked, the heat turned up, and supper inside us, led to checking e-mails, phone falls, and finally, peacefully toddling off to bed.
.
A very interesting, inspirational, and fun weekend, with friends, new and old.
.
But, it sure does feel good to be back home again! :-)
.

.
Le Roi and Bob in the woodpiles, each with a wheelbarrow, bringing wood to be stacked alongside the front door, or in the kitchen, alongside the wood cookstove.
.
Kathy and Bob running errands in Portage, etc.
.
Kathy is sooooo grateful for all the angels, who welcome us with continual blessings.
After finishing going one place today, Bob dropped me off. When I came back to the car, I said: Wow, I am very thankful for meeting another angel. Bob said: that is what you mirror, so that's what happens. To which I said thank you (to Bob), and that it happens even easier, because of the clear mirror that you (Bob) are.
.
Thank you all for BEing such beautiful mirrors!
.
Then we arrived back home, to bake lots of winter varieties of squash in the wood cookstove oven.
.
Bob and Le Roi also worked on a couple of trees, from which to hunt deer this weekend.
.
We are working on the last of the watermelons, but we do have about 40 winter squash left, 6 of which are in the oven right now.
.
The tea kettle is singing a lullaby, making both of us sleepy.
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Tuesday, November 14, 2006
Bob outside climbing in four different trees, doing prep work for deer stands around the 20 acres.
.
Trimming branches, tying ladders securely to tree limbs, testing platforms, and selecting horizontal, cross branches to sit on, wherever possible.
.
Also, ten, 5 gallon pails of wood for the wood cookstove stacked up under the South Patio Eaves, for that hungry Miss Monarch, who we feed constantly, during the weekdays.
.
Miss Monarch also keeps two tea kettles singing throughout the day, and is also our prime source of energy for baking trays of winter squash, casseroles, roasts, (all in the oven), and soups (on top).
.
We even use Miss Monarch's warmer, (an upper part of the stove), to keep things warm.
.
Smashed potatoes,   :-)   corn and beans for supper.
.
Our green pole beans are even greener after being defrosted, a really gorgeous green! Mmmm, good!
.
Kathy had a restful morning, clearing e-mail out of her box, and sending messages to say THANK YOU to all the lights, as you always touch our lives, in so many ways.
.
It is a deLIGHT to flow in the moment, with whatever feels the most helpful, to be done.
.
Then, the blessing of cleaning Bumpity, as more visitors are coming soon to JOY'n us, AT HOME.
.
Cleaning is always an exercise of clearing the mind to look at what truly makes me happy, in serving Holy Spirit.
.
You know what? That means JOY'ning with everyONE in community. So, come on home to Bumpity Rd., and celebrate, in the fun.
.

.
Bob out swinging from limb to limb in the trees again!   :-)
.
This is some of the hardest physical work possible, kind of like carrying a couple of hundred pounds of potatoes from limb to limb, and up and down.   :-)
.
In addition to all the "potatoes," there are chairs, boards, hammer, nails, rope, etc.
.
All with the intent of prayerfull meditating in nature, similar to the Plains Indians, before the Buffalo Hunt.
.
All was sacred.
.
The Intent, The Harvest Of Animals, and the Communal Communion of Sharing The Sacred Animal.
.
Most of our meals during the past two years DO NOT INCLUDE meat.
.
However, most of the meat we eat is venison, donated by two of our neighbors, and also, by two other friends.
.
So this is a prayerful, meditative experience for Bob, sitting in various trees, and observing nature.
.
Our 100 foot square lettuce patch is now uncovered, as the big tarp is now over our woodpile by the house, to keep the rain and snow off the wood and keep it drier.
.
It looks like we might even get one more picking from the lettuce, as the lettuce is able to take, and withstand, some freezing weather.
,
E-mails, phone calls, and messages left, for ThanksGiving Day Supper here and an extended weekend of An Open Door Weekend.
.
Talked with Ken in London, England, and look forward to seeing him here at BumpityRoad late on ThanksGiving Eve.
.
We have been reading Paul C. Bragg's book; THE MIRACLE OF FASTING, which we are finding very informative and inspiring.
.
We are inching towards making even more dietary changes in eating to live healthier (rather than.... "living to eat?").
.
In all this, there is a realization that everything comes from our state of mind, so it is in "eating what is served," that we are nourished. Because of this, Spirit guides everything, and our "health" is always taken care of, regardless of what we eat, or don't eat.
.
Because of this, we always appreciate JOY'ning in Community with everyONE of you!
.

.
It is a chilly morning at Bumpity Road, as Bob starts the wood cookstove. We are soooo grateful to have this beautiful resource of warmth.
.
Off to Portage by noon for Kathy to keep appointments and run errands, and Bob to have a card-playing "shootout," with Mom Helen, Sister Rose, and Brother Ron.
.
Bob was the top card-slinger today, partially due to his tendency to keep track of the 14 most powerful cards (Queens, Jacks, and 6 Diamonds).
.
Lots of stories shared, and lots and lots of spontaneous laughter!
.
Actually, a sort of mini-family reunion, intimate, personal, and fun!
.
Upon arriving home we built up the coals in the wood cookstove to a fire again, and did some budget entries in our monthly log.
.
By just recording were all the pennies go, we find that the dollars seem to take care of themselves. :-)
.

.
A day of preparing for the weekend hunting, getting all the related gear set out and organized, and tidying up and organizing the house, which is something we seem to be more willing to do when guests are expected. :-)
.
Dragan Vidovich arrived from Illinois early this evening to have supper with us, finalize our (Dragan and Bob),hunting plans, and then visit some of his other buddies who will be hunting in the Wisconsin Dells area.
.
We first met Dragan a few years ago, when his family attended gandson Blake's Birthday Party.
.
Dragan's son, Estefan, is very close to our grandson, Blake.
.
Dragan has visited Bumpity twice this fall, doing a walk-a-bout with Bob, to pre-plan our tree stands in different hunting locations.
.
Dragan's enthusiasm has proved contagious, so now Bob has bought a deer-hunting license for the first time in centuries. :-)
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Saturday, November 18, 2006
Out in the chilly pre-dawn darkness at 6:00 a.m., with Dragan getting two deer before 7:30 a.m.
.
Before dark, Dragan harvested 4 more deer, for a total of six.
.
We took the tractor as far back as we could, along the brushy woods and marsh, but that still required dragging the deer through the brush to the tractor.
.
This was made much more difficult because our flashlight burned out.
.
Plus the trees that were laying across our paths in the dark, from trees that were felled by beavers, as well as the tooth-marked beaver-stumps, that flattened Bob more than once in the dark.
.
Dragan had harvested two deer in his two years of hunting, so six in one day was a stellar event.
.
Bob did not fire a shot, all day long.
.
The season is 9 days long, but, we are basically done hunting on the first day because we have all the deer we need, and more.   :-)
.
Kathryn gratefully made venison stew, (with venison donated by Don P., thank-you, Don and Sally!), and we three chatted gayly for several hours.
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Sunday, November 19, 2006
We loaded the deer on the haywagon and Bob drove the tractor and haywagon the 3 1/2 miles to Ledlow's Kountry Korners Restaurant to register our deer.
.
Then back home again, and Dragan skinned two of the deer, cut them up, and Bob packaged and put them in the freezer.
.
This was a long arduous task that kept us busy till evening, after which we dined on smoked salmon (again, thank-you, Don and Sally P.!), pole bean casserole, winter squash, and salad.
.
Bob sampled, Dragan's Swedish Absolut Vodka (with peach cranberry juice).
.
We three shared a fun filled evening with many touching stories about our youth and adolescence. It was a very blessed sharing, in which we all felt JOYn'ed in peace.
.
Lots of laughing, and even some joyful tears.   :-)
.
Dragan felt that being here at Bumpity Road was like being a child again with his grandparents, in Bosnia.
.
We have enjoyed our new friend, immensely.
.
After all the stressful work experiences, with the deer, all of which we overcame, we know that we are friends for life.
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Monday, November 20, 2006
Bob did home fried potatoes and 6 egg omelets, with diced, freshly cut, onion greens.
.
We then took Dragan's deer to Doug Paul's Processing to have skinned, cut up, and packaged, for Dragan.
.
From 4 deer, Dragan will probably have over 250 pounds of meat!
.
Kathryn ran errands and returned home to have supper with us.
.
Dragan joined friends in Wisconsin Dells for the evening so we had a quiet evening puttering around.
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Tuesday, November 21, 2006
Steve U. arrived just past midnight!
.
But we did not know that until we woke up this morning.   :-)
Freshly cut onion-greens in our omelets again!
.
Then Dragan said goodbyes to Steve, Kathy, and Bob, and went over to pick up the head and cape of his 9 point deer, which he plans on having permanently mounted.
.
We drove to Madison for Thanksgiving Groceries at Aldi's, and then leisurely dined at the nearby, Country Buffet.
.
We spent the night with Deb, Paul, and Autumn, enjoying a great chat about any topics with them before retiring (and also sampled several slices of pumpkin pie)!
.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Wednesday, November 22, 2006
Paul fixed a great breakfast!
.
And Deb added a scrumptious coffee cake, hot from the oven!
.
After which we went to Autumn's Mendota Grade School for the morning's dance performances with grades 3 to 5.
.
A very enjoyable morning, watching the various groups and grades do a grrrrrrrrrrrrreat variety of different dance routines to diverse musical themes, from all around the world!
.
We were Autumn's "grandparents" for the Thanksgiving Dinner at the school, and much enjoyed our interactions with the many people we talked to.
.
The school has seventy percent of its student body at the poverty level, but their math and reading achievements are spectacular, thanks to an exceptionally dedicated staff.
.
We really enjoyed everyone, students, parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff.
.
Sandy G., the principal for the past ten years, resides in Portage, and one of her brothers, is a fishing partner of Bob's brother, Ron.
.
We drove home to prepare for additional Thanksgiving guests.
.
Ken G's plane has arrived from London, England, and he is now driving a rental car to Bumpity Road, probably arriving here about 11 p.m. tonight.
.
So, we have his bed made, and are leaving a light on.
.
Truth is, Kathy will probably still be up when Ken arrives!
.
Bob has some hard labor in front of him for tomorrow morning, so he will conk out early.
.
Maybe.   :-)
.

Turkey Day! Turkey Day!
Turkey, all the way.
What fun it is to sit with friends
and turkey through the day!
...............
...............
...............
Thursday, November 23, 2006)
.
Steve was up till the wee hours, butchering his 10 point deer on the picnic table, and getting the deer quarters into the barn freezer.
.
Ken G. arrived near midnight, and the London Jet Lag (20 hours of travel), encouraged Ken to go to bed a.s.a.p.
.
In the morning, Steve scrubbed the picnic table and Bob dug a trench in the driveway to bury the repaired telephone line.
.
Bob notices that, at 70, Bob can "still do" the shovel work, but, that he does it a little slower.   :-)
.
The 3rd and 4th trays of winter squash are baked, so Bob began freezing squash, and leaving umpteen quarts, in addition to the squash for 5 "pumpkin" pies.
.
Phil peeled apples for two apple pies, as well as many pounds of Yukon Gold Potatoes for our smashed potatoes.
.
Bob is adept at smashing potatoes with a handy-dandy, potato masher.
:-)
.
Ken and Kathy baked all the pies and got the turkey baking, and Susan arrived with goodies and was also a big, consistent help, in the kitchen all day long.
.
Paul, Deb, and Autumn arrived making 7 P.O.L. Ordained Ministers present, (The Mankes, The Phelps, The Thompsons, and Ken G.), and along with Steve (a devout ACIM student), we enjoyed lots of chatting, much of which included ACIM.
.
Lots of joy and lots of laughing!
.
Duncan arrived, followed by Glen, so the 12 of us sat down to Turkey Dinner, with Steve making a tasty gravy that was a big hit.
.
Baked home-grown rutabagas were an extra veggie, along with corn and green beans.
.
Bob's sister Rita stopped out here with her son Marshall, after her drive up from Peoria, Illinois.
.
Duncan introduced a computerized "charades with words" game, that we all participated in, laughing hilariously.
.
Frequently, laughing hilariously!
.
Steve, Glen, Duncan, Ken, and Susan, all slept over.

A great, inspiring, interesting, and impromptu sharing this morning!
.
It all began with Glenn talking about going to Madison to buy a new bed, which led to the size of the bed he should buy, inasmuch as Glen is single, and not in a relationship.
.
Ken, Bob, and Kathryn got involved in the "potential relationship" aspects of bed size, stressing that a larger than currently needed bed, might be interpreted by the universe as an invitation to "fill it!"
.
Susan, Steve, and Duncan joined us, for what resulted in a moving discussion about Holy Relationships, which was very touching, and frequently, very humorous.
.
It was fantastic to share with Duncan about his new job at Hospice, and how that all figures into reaching in to oneself to give love, in so many ways. All of this BEing, to look deeply within to living a life where the focus is to be peace filled.
.
Glen, Ken, and Duncan, individually drove off, Kathy and Susan went for a country walk, and Steve headed for Wisconsin Dells to get "lotsa lotsa pizza" and visit with Le Roi.
.
We are pleased that there are 4 of us to still work on those many pies, tonight, and tomorrow!
................
................
................
Saturday, November 25, 2006:
The last two days of the nine day rifle deer season begin today, so Steve wil be out looking for another deer, and maybe Bob for a bit also, to help Steve.
.
It is always so helpful to be open to whatever happens here at Bumpity Rd., and everywhere, to live and BE in a celebration of Love. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this blessing.
.
Bob used an ancient single shot Enfield .303 to harvest one of four deer that offered themselves to him, in mid afternoon, to fill Steve's final deer tag.
.
Kathy made salmon patties (thank-you, Don P.) for supper, and among the tasty treats were delicious raw beet slices, from a monstrously large, gorgeous beet, (thank-you, Gerry), which was very sweet and yummy!
.
We continue to work our way through the apple and pumpkin pies, with great dedication, and............. smotherings of ice cream.
:-)
................
................
................
Sunday, November 26, 2006
.
Bob spent most of the day from late morning on, in a tree stand, waiting for deer, and just before dark, deer began coming to the garden area, a few at time, then a few more, and a few more.......
.
A unique set of circumstances protected the deer from Bob, and Bob had a mystical experience watching the animals slowly come from the woods to graze and play like kittens, or children, with each other.
.
This happened at dark, as the gently moving, grazing, playful animals, seemed to slowly move across a dusky dreamscape, as a peaceful, holy, community.
.
This was a very moving experience for Bob, who then came to the house and made venison stew from one of the six deer harvested last weekend, two of which are in our freezer, (thank-you, Dragan!).
.
Potatoes, carrots, onions, and spices added to the meat to make a tasty stew, "al dente".
.
The evening ended, with Bob reading to Kathy about "angels," and how angels offer help to us, if we but ask.
.
Of course, Kathryn identified very much with the angelic readings.
.
How could she not, soundingly resonate, with angelic
readings.......................................................being an
angel, herself?     :-)

Bob and Steve lifting logs onto the haywagon for Steve to cut up into stove size chunks.
.
Then chain saws, oil, gas, and tools all put on the big wagon to keep the saws runnning.
.
Steve got his first doe deer into the processing place (the one I shot for him on Saturday, last), and, also picked up a car-killed deer off the highway and got a legal tag in Portage to keep and process the deer, that deer also, (his third).
.
We are still working on all those desserts! . Slowly, the refrigerators
are acquiring a bit more space. :-)

Bob into Helen's O.K. CardPlaying Corral for a "shootout" with card-slingers, Mom Helen, Sister Rose, and Brother Ron.
.
Lots of laughs and humor that really cheered mom up and took her mind off her illnesses!
.
Then we joined Mary Kay and Richard for home made lasagna at their home in Dalton.
.
A great meal, with salad, garlic bread, and cherry cobbler.
.
We chatted about a jillion different things for over 3 hours!
.
Richard (Dick), is retired from the telephone company and is now the local fire chief (until May).
.
Mary Kay has many years at Walmart in Portage, where we first met her, years ago.
.
A rainy night, with lots of slow driving, to avoid hitting deer that we saw in several places along the roadside.

More logs placed on the haywagon by Bob and Steve, to be cut up and brought into the Sunrise Room, for drying out and burning.
.
Then, these Journal entries, and then off to Madison, for our noon appointments at the Madison Area Technical College's Dental Hygenist School.
.
Lots of great treatments for both of us at the Madison Area Technical College, Dental Hygienist School.
.
Very impressive training facility with over 20 students working on open-mouthed clients. :-)
.
Lots of supervision, and all of them, friendly and helpful.
.
Then, off to The Parthenon, at 316 (Bob's birth month, and day, March 16th), State Street, just a short walk from MATC.
.
We arrived home after dark, got Miss Monarch going in the kitchen to, heat us up for the evening, and also, to finish baking two verrrrrrrry large squash.

Kathy into town for errands and appointments while Bob was preparing venison, Red Norland Potatoes, yellow onions, and rutabagas, for a "venison hash."
.
Chuck arrived in time to sample Chef Roberto's latest culinary creation, and comments were such, as to encourage Chef R.T., to make an even bigger batch in a very large cast iron skillet, for supper.
.
Kathy cleaning lots of lettuce, Chuck cleaning lots of carrots, and Bob blending veggies into the immense iron skillet on the wood cook stove.
.
Watermelon, for dessert.   :-)
.
Lots of shared work in the kitchen by the three of us, got all the veggies prepped, the food cooked, eaten, leftovers stored, and the dishes washed, dried, and put away.
.
A quiet evening of chatting, and relaxing.
.
And so, November, has swiftly slipped, into December, with a hard freeze last night, that finally froze the lettuce patch. Thank you God, for the green harvest of lettuce, that it has been given to us, for sooooooooooo long!
.
The temperature really dropped quickly at dark, but this is November 30th, so it is not really a surprise for a Wisconsinite.
.
Winter is here.   :-)
