OCTOBER 2007

Monday, 10-1-07
Kathy made more pesto, for the harvest of plenty. Kathy shared with Laurie, via telefono, laughing and loving the experience of letting Spirit guide, with a Pathways of Light course.
.
It is always fabulous for me to JOY'n with Laurie, because we relate and understand each other so well. Through doing this, we can experience that nothing really means anything, it is an opportunity to let go of what we think is important, to see that all which is, is to BE, trust, and embrace the loving feelings from within. That always gives us an opportunity, to laugh a lot.
.
Bob picked more winter squash and cultivating some of the gardens.
.
Loretta and Melissa stopped by for a long and interesting evening chat which was very inspirational and warming. Kathy watched "Where the River Runs Black" with them. This movie has a strong message for us, which shows how Holy Spirit moves those in the story, to live life. We suggest it as one that is very helpful to see. It is well worth finding. You are invited to come and see it here at Bumpity Road, or check at your local library or video store. It is one that is well worth finding. You'll understand why we say this, when you see it.
.

Tuesday, 10-2-07
Inside and outside, wow, did we get alot done today!
.
In addition to all the other chores, Kathy worked on three of the bedrooms, and Bob cleaned and re-arranged the furniture in the Sunrise Room.
.
Our travel club guests, Deanna and Dennis, arrived in the rain, after dark, and were really happy to get off the rainy roads.
.
We talked till midnight with these interesting and inspirational world travelers.
.
They were former Minnesotans, who went to Canada to teach, about 30 years ago, and then became Canadian citizens.
.
They shared many moving experiences about teaching and living in Canada, China, New Guinea, in the South Pacific, and Gaza, in Palestine.
.
Wow! Talk about an ongoing education!
.
What an adventuresome group of people these, and all the other travel club members are!
.
It is always exciting to await the arrival of these guests whom we have never met, because we know, it will always be a fun, interesting, and inpirational time!
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Wednesday, 10-3-07
Chef Roberto did two of his famous 5 egg omelets, seasoned with fresh bell peppers, yellow onion, and dried basil.
.
Kathy got the table ready, and a few side dishes, to share with our guests, also.
.
After our very enjoyable guests left, Bob worked on getting the 35 acorn squash out of the two ovens, and began taking seeds out of the baked squash and using a teaspoon to get all the edible squash out of the baked shells and into freezer containers, and into the barn freezers, which are rapidly filling up!
.
Bob mowed, picked apples, beets, and rhutabagas, and then washed three more big trays of acorn squash, and put them into the two ovens, to wait for the 8 p.m. low electrical rates.
.
At 8 p.m. we turned on both ovens for 90 minutes at 350 degrees and sat back to watch a public television documentary on the origins of humanity and the genetic documentation of all the world migrations, that began from one culture in Africa.
.
Fascinating scientific stuff.
.
Proving, that we all, really, are one!
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Thursday, 10-4-07
.
We went to Portage today, for Bob to play cards with his mom: Helen, brother: Ronnie, and sister: Rose.
.
Kathy went with Bob, and took him to Helen's, to meet everyone there.
.
They had fun, playing their many card tricks, laughing, and seeing which one of them would sling the cards the easiest.
.
The important thing is that they shared a lot of laughs, which is what they will truly remember.
.
Kathy went around to run errands, and having a relaxing afternoon, to embrace the fun of living life, and enJOYing DOing it.
.
When we got home, we decided to call a few friends and family to invite them to the Celebration of Life for Kathy and Barb W. birthdays, next Wednesday, October 10th.
.
This comes, to let you know that you are Invited to this Celebration of Life! This is to celebrate everyONE's birthday, because we really feel like everyday is everyone's birthday, because everyday is Christmas!
.
Now, we just shared some watermelon, and it is delicious, as always!!!!!!!!!!!!!
.
:::::::::::::::::::::::
Friday 10-5-07
We visited the Amish Bent 'n Dent store for fruit juices, soy milk, etc., at bargain basement prices, and then went to Portage to various stores, the library, mom's, etc. and then joined Mike and Loretta at Bud's Pizza Hut for the noon brunch of pizzas, barbecued beef, and chicken.
.
Six Shot Vidovich arrived this afternoon with his archery gear, and so, we went to Wally's Mart to get his out-of-state, non-state-resident, archery license.
.
Dan (Six Shot), spent sunset in a tree stand, which for us, is like "going to church."
.
Then, Dan went to Ledlow's Kountry Korners to mingle with the locals and have their Friday night fish fry, before heading towards the Wisconsin Dells area, to spend time with friends there.
.
Friday evening, winding down, with Bob taking a short break from washing, baking, packing, and freezing winter squashes.
.
After not doing this for one day, Bob feels like he is on vacation.
.
Which is what life is.
.
A moment by moment celebration of now.
.
What a great place to be:
HERE!
.
Thank you for coming Home, Dan and all of you, for always BEing JOY'ned in the One Spirit of Love, to laugh, dance, and sing!
.
And the one time to be HERE!
NOW! Because Now is the only time that is!   :-)
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Saturday, 10-6-07
We heard Dan come in and say: "Bob?"
.
That was the call for a delicious Bumpity Road omelet.
.
We JOY'ned with Dragan, to prepare a 5 egg omelet with green bell peppers and yellow onions. Of course, it was delicious, once again. The Angel Chef Bob prepared a deliciously fantastic dish for the hunting king, from Bosnia.
.
Dragan went out to his hunting spot before dawn, and said that he saw nothing to hunt while up there, until 9:30 a.m.
.
We talked about times that Dragan's hunted, and encountered a lot of things, in various experiences. It was fun and interesting, because he has such a joy and zest for living!
.
Loretta called, while we were visiting with Dragan, and asked about coming out for lunch, so we told her to come on.
.
Loretta brought Ann and Melissa, and we
prepared stir fry, and served watermelon and squash with them.
.
Kathy went with them, to take Melissa home, and it was a fun drive. They brought Kathy back to Bumpity Road, and Loretta and Ann went back to town.
.
Mike arrived with two desks, that he and Loretta donated to us, and he and Bob unloaded the desks. Then, we visited with Mike for a while. He is always so friendly, like Loretta. They are angels. By BEing helpful, they are getting out of their own way.
.
Thank you soooooooo much, for all of the blessed friends, that we have.
.................................
Sunday, October 7, 2007
.
We shared the Sunday morning Meditation Service, and watched the birds.
.
The birds are our winged reminder of the ever presence, of God's love, Now.
.
We experienced the glow of seeing who we truly are, by having a willingness to look at all that is, with Love, and know that it's beauty clearly cannot be described with words.
.
Bob was called by Mom Helen, and Aunt Eva, to play cards, so he went to meet the full handed sisters.
.
Kathy stayed home, to do many miscelleanous things, at Bumpity Road, and have a blessing, to see the beauty.
.
Bob came home, and we ate, and shared the rest of the evening eating and cutting up watermelon and squash, to freeze.
.
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for all of the miracles!
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Monday, 10-8-07
Bob working outside, still harvesting winter squash, beets, rutabagas, giant (one pound) Lutz radishes, and apples.
.
These whopper Lutz Radishes are really tasty, and one of them (over a foot long) is enough to feed 4 families. :-)
.
Kathy inside, readying rooms for guests.
.
Kathy talked with Laurie to share another Pathways of Light course, and laugh, to see that everything that we do is a backdrop for us to see and laugh at what gets us excited, and that what truly is helpful, is to BE at Peace!
.
Laughter is the sound of the divine at work.
.
Each of us trying to take care of as many of the jillion details as possible, before guests begin arriving tomorrow.
.
Seems like everytime we start doing something, we see 5 other things that need to be done.
.
Then, we see that it is all perfect, and that is what is meant to be, for us to see what is the most helpful thing to do, to helpfully serve, in Joy! So go our days.   :-)
.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Tuesday, 10-9-07
Chef Barb and bro' Gary Lee arrived and Barb began doing a lot of the pre-cooking prep work on tomorrow's menu.
.
By late evening much preparation had been accomplished, and Barb had her idea of activities to do on the 'morrow, for the 5 p.m. meal.
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Wednesday, 10-10-07
Gary and Bob sang "happy birthday" to Kat and Barb and Chef Roberto worked up a 5 egg omelet for three persons.
.
After breakfast Le Roi arrived from Wisconsin Dells, and in the afternoon, Laurie from near Plymouth.
.
Eventually, Barb had at least 6 of us helping her in the kitchen, Ann, Bob, Kathy, LeRoi, Laurie, Mike, Loretta, etc.
.
A big banquet of food was spread on our looooooooooooooooong series of smorgasbord tables, which included vegetarian vegetable soup, two pork roasts, jillions of veggies and salads, a lemon cake, peanut butter cookies, watermelon, ice cream, etc.
.
Felipe y Mary drove down from Wautoma, Loretta, Mike, Ann, and Mom Helen from Portage, Peggy, Jerry, Victor, and Aunt Eva, Charlotte, and John, all from the countryside, north of us, Dana and Luisa from the Dells, Amish neighbors Mel, Clara, and daughter Ruby (all dear friends of Barb), Don from Middleton, Susan from Mt. Horeb, Laurie from near Plymouth, etc.
.
Mom Helen hornswoggled some of us into a Sheep'shead card game, and lots of conversation and card playing went on till midnight, with Barb, Cuzzin' Jerry, Peggy, bro' Gary, and Bob.
.
KAThy guided the kitchen clean up with Laurie, Ann, and Susan. Thank you Angels!
.
Loretta came back later, to pick Grandma Helen and Ann up, to take them home to Portage.
.
An incredible amount of left-over food resulted in some of it being kept outside on the northeast patio, with the lid weighted down to keep kritters from bathing in our vat of soup.   :-)
.
We went to bed, totally unconcerned, about preparing any meals for the next few days, other than seek and find, heat and eat.   :-)
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Thursday, 10-11-07
One by one, we all rose, and finally, LeRoi, Gary, Bob, and Laurie, joined the two birthday ladies for a rather extended breakfast of "leftovers."
.
By early afternoon all six of us were at Country Life Restaurant, about 9 miles from here.
.
Uncle Bob S., our waiter, was a very interesting 84 year old, living on the acreage.
.
He is Uncle Bob to everybody and was very helpful and friendly, joining us again and again for conversation during our two hour meal of vegetarian foods, which were scrumptious.
.
Uncle Bob gave us a tour of the visitor's lodge and recommended a young man to us, Phil K., who needed some part-time work.
.
By the time all 7 of us were back at Bumpity, we called Phil, and Phil stopped out to chat with us and made an appointment to do several hours of work for us, tomorrow, at 3 p.m.
.
It was another late night session around the table, as we shared very moving, personal experiences, between the 7 of us, Laurie, Gary Lee, LeRoi, Barb, Bob, Kathy and Susan.
.
Interesting, heart-warming, and inspirational, all.
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::
Friday,10-12-07
A very relaxing day, wrestling with the various left-overs, throughout the morning and early afternoon.
.
Patty (her birthday, today, so we sang her a happy birthday) and Roger dropped in from Lodi and squirreled around and picked up lots and lots of hickory nuts. It was great to see them blend into the masterpiece of friends, gathered around the Bumpity Road table.
.
Roger's dedication to picking and cracking hickory nuts has earned him the nickname "the big squirrel." :-)
.
Kathy talked with Lisa S., to share the Pathways of Light course, about the Miracles that come to mind, while embracing the experience of Living in Love.
.
Kathy also JOY'ned with Laurie to express the Transforming Power of Trust, and go on the Trust Walk. She was very willing, and innocent in her openness to BEing guided, all along the way. This was very moving for her and Kathy.
.
Then, Laurie, Susan, Barb, Gary Lee, and LeRoi got their things ready, and went on the Bumpity Road, to their homes.
.
Thank you for coming home, everyONE!
.
Then, Barb and Gary returned.
.
Phil K. stopped by and did two hours of work cleaning up the Sunrise Room and Kitchen and then had supper here, from our great selection of leftovers.
.
All 5 of our overnighters either stopped back, or phoned back, after they left this afternoon.
.
So much heartwarming and inspiring input, from so many, so continuously, from Tuesday till Friday!
.
What a warm family of friends!
.
We are truly blessed!
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Saturday, 10-13-07
A relaxing day of inner and outer chores, with no specific agenda, except to spend the night in Lodi with Patty and Roger.
.
After our 50 minute drive to Lodi, we had a very relaxing evening with Patty Cakes and Roger, and their granddaughter, Amber, and Amber's parents, Jason and Kimmie Bug, whom Bob married in Lodi, three years ago.
.
And Onyx, as in a black gemstone?
.
This gemstone being an 11 year old, black, mini-mini poodle, who was very diligent in patrolling the floor for fallen tidbits. :-)
.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Sunday, 10-14-07
Patty's youngest son, Travis, arrived home from his night job at a printing shop, and we had a long and interesting chat about Travis' life and spent some time with his trio of parakeets (mom, dad, and child).
.
Gorgeously, multi-colored birds, very happy and chatty, all three, to see Travis.
.
Then, off with Patty Cakes and Roger to The Fireside dinner theatre, to browse in the many shops, have a leisurely roast por dinner, served in stages that took about 2 hours, and then the very well done musical comedy,Thorougly Modern Millie.
.
The casting of actors was excellent, over 200 having been auditioned for the many parts.
.
Very enjoyable, very moving, very laughable, and leaving us in tears with the final scenes and encores.
.
It was the final curtain for Millie, their final performance, and on behalf of the cast, Millie gave a very moving thank-you, and goodbye, to the audience, who gave the entire cast a long and standing ovation.
.
Then, back to Lodi, to sample one of Patty CAkes chocolate Halloween cakes, and then the cautious drive home in the dark, on the alert for rambunctious deer. :-)
.
What a week!
.
A cornucopia of food!
.
A kaleidescope of friends!
.
Life is good. :-)
.

Today was a great day to stay in, and embrace the beauty of BEing restful.
.
Bob invited KAThy to relax and BE grateful for all of the blessings of what is, right here and NOW.
.
It is always fantastic, to fully welcome this quiet opportunity as symbolic of going inward, to the grace filled peace, that is a homecoming, always!
.
Then, KAT felt guided to do a few things that were calling to her, around Bumpity.
.
Bob continued to read his ongoing mind provoking reflections, from Joseph Campbell.
.
Overall, it was a peaceful day to quietly look inward for Spirit's guidance.
.
Bob has finished note-taking from 11 of Joseph Campbell's books on mythology, world history, world thinking, and the world's religions, ancient and modern.
.
Bob identifies with the writings of both Joseph Campbell and Loren Eisely, because ot how those two saw the world, and wrote about it.
.
Three "earthy mystics," Joe, Loren, and Bob.
.
Bumpitying into each other, "between the lines."   :-)
.

Tuesday, October 16, 2007
Kathy felt better today, and got up to send out some correspondence to a few friends, who have made a call for Love to us, about some things.
.
We feel very happy to do this, and give the blessing of returning love to it's mirrors of love.
.
Thank you, dear friends, for this opportunity.
.
We found a few diehard tomato plants that were still producing tomatoes, very, very, unusual for the last half of October.
.
They sure are tasty "tomaters."
.
We have about 10 eggplants that are still bearing their purple fruit, undamaged by our two, September, "light" frosts.
.
The kale, peppers, and herbs in Kathy's herb garden, are all, also, doing quite well, and still producing yummies.
.
Bob has become a big fan of kale, even preferring it over both spinach and lettuce, making many a trip, before (and sometimes even during meals), to the herb garden, scissors in hand, to prune the lower leaves for immediate eating (the pruning has left the kale plants looking more and more like, really cute, miniature palm trees!   :-)
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Wednesday, October 17, 2007
Kathy talked with Lisa S, this morning, to complete all of Lisa's ministerial classes, by finishing Introduction to Miracles Studies.
.
Kathy enJOYs sharing these courses with Lisa, and everyONE so much! This experience fills her with gratitude in which to see the angel who is looking at her, as a mirror of her thoughts, and peace filled mind!
.
Bob and KAThy went outside, to transplant a variety of fragrant natural treasures into pots, from the herb garden, including: basil, thyme, mint, and parsley.
.
In cutting the purple basil, it broke off above the roots, so Kathy brought the delicious leaves in, for harvesting into tasty delights.
.
We are readying the plants that we potted, for bringing inside, soon. Mmmmm, they are very aromatic!
.
Bob harvested beets, rutabagas, and a giant Lutz Radish, from garden 3,
.
We still have veggies to harvest in 4 of our gardens.
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Thursday, October 18, 2007
KAThy and Bob were up early, to welcome the day in.
.
Bob got ready to go to his mother, Helen's house, for a gathering of card playing, with the Thompson gang.
.
Rose called early, to see if it was okay for Henry to JOY'n them, to which Bob said: Yes, he sure can. Bob called Ronnie, and Mom Helen, to remind them.
.
So, off Bob went, to join in with the crew.
.
KAThy stayed home, at Bumpity, feeling even better again.
.
It was great to have this quiet time, to do a few things.
.
She went out, to walk the fresh trails, on this sacred land, of divine heritage and union. Ohhhh, it is peace filled, and embraced with grace! Thank you, Holy Spirit!
.
Kathy was about to go and gather rose hips when the sweet rose of Robert appeared back home.
.
So, Kathy picked the rose blessings, and Bob joined right in, to help.
.
Kathy also went with Bob, to pick some rhutagagas and beets.
.
Then, gather up some mint, parsley, and
thyme, for delicious mixtures. Mmmm, it smells like the abundant garden 'a plenty.
.
We ate sandwiches, watermelon, and squash, from our abundant harvest. Thank you God!
.
We came in to rest, for the night, and Marcine called, to say hello. It was great to talk with her, and share laughter, the most spontaneous gift, of now.
.
Now, we are enJOYing, with gratitude, the blessing of BEing home, by ONEself. This ONE is in the experience of BEing JOY'ned in Love Eternally.
.
Thank you, we are happily filled, with gratitude!
.
Bob returned home after an afternoon of laughter and card-slinging with Mom, Rose, Henry, and Ron.
.
Today, Bob was the top card-slinger amongst the 5 outlaws and in-laws.
:-)
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Friday, October 19, 2007
Bob and Kathy went to Madison, to finish a tooth cleaning, for Kathy, at MATC Dental School. We love to go there, and be taken care of by their Angel students.
.
We stopped at a bread shop, to get many loaves of all natural bread.
.
Then, we went over for Bob to have two teeth extracted, at his dentist's office.
.
Kathy talked with Carol T. and Lisa and Peter, while Bob was with the dentist.
.
When Bob came out, from the angel's chair, we were ready to head back home, to Bumpity Road.
.
Now, we're back at home, and nestled in, to BE restful.
.
We cut another watermelon, which is very tasty. Mmmmm, mmm, thank you Holy Spirit!
.
We started up the Monarch wood stove, and now, hear the teapot starting to whistle. That's a sign that it's getting warm enough, to be cozy in here.
.
Bob is now meditating, while sitting beside the stove.
.
Ahhhhh, the pleasures of BEing home, at Bumpity Road.
.
Bob transplanted some more of Kathy's herbs and also, 4 tomato plants.
.
The re-seeding of our mulch in garden 3, has resulted in hundreds of tomato plants, just now springing up all over the garden!
.
So we are transplanting some of them in pots, to see how they do.
.
We now have 17 pots, some of them too heavy for a sane person to carry, to bring into the Sunrise Room, before the next killing frost.
.
What a feeling, of abundance and luxury, to have so much food still growing in late October!
.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Saturday, October 20, 2007
Bob turned down another card slinging shoot-out to work outside during a gorgeous Indian Summer Day.
.
He tilled all the large gardens again, and they are now ready for planting next year.
.
The smaller gardens were mostly tilled, also, except where plants are still growing.
.
A haywagon chock full of rolls of garden fencing, concrete blocks, large water tanks, etc., were all loaded up and stored in, or near, the pole barn.
.
Now Bob is playing with his tape measure, figuring out where to put the 17, mostly large, pots, in the Sunrise Room.
.
He has his two-wheeled dolly, just outside the door, so he can wheel them in before the next freeze.
.
Kathy cut and chopped a lot of green peppers, to freeze for the winter also.
.
This adds to our bounty of fresh veggies, that will feed us and the many friends and family who'll come home to visit this year, whenever they're in the area.
.
We are gratefully filled, for all that is!
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Sunday, October 21, 2007
The telephone rang early to welcome us to the day, with a call from Angel Loretta.
.
She asked how we're doing, and about coming out to share breakfast, to which we said: Sure, come on home, and eat with us!
.
We got up and brought Loretta in, with our song of Bumpity welcoming. This brought a smile to her face, and she said that it felt good to hear that.
.
Chef Bob made three mozarella and cheddar cheese omelets. They were verrrrrry delicious! We all really enJOYed them!
.
We JOY'ned to talk with Loretta, and express our gratitude to her, for taking a while to relax, and embrace the beauty of resting, in the country. This is a way to see, and be who she truly is.
.
Loretta has come to be a dear friend, who we really appreciate sharing and expressing our thoughts with. She is a good friend to Helen, Bob's mother, and we understand why they enjoy visiting with each other so much.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Monday, October 22, 2007
Bob went to town to play cards with Mom Helen, Aunt Eva, Sister Rose, and Victor, and Eva was the top card-slinger of the afternoon, seeing as how she was dealt more, and bigger bullets, than the rest of the Card-Slingers' Outlaw Gang.
.
Kathy stayed at Bumpity Road, and did a variety of helpful things, here at home.
.
Loretta and Mike called, to say that they didn't feel like going to play bingo, and wanted to see about coming to have dinner with us.
.
To that, we said: "Sure, come on over, and bring your appetites!"
.
Loretta said: "Do you like chicken wings?" Kathy said: "Oh yes, we do!" Kat was thinking, I'm a girl who's lived many years of my life in KY., the home of KY. Fried Chicken. Yes, we like chicken!"
.
Chef Katarina started making a stir fry of the Bumpity Road veggies and some brown rice, and got things ready, for a home feast.
.
When Mike and Loretta got here, they brought the container with looooooots of chicken wings.
.
So, dinner was set, and it was:
"Mmmmm, mmmm, Good!"
.
Thank you, Loretta and Mike.
.
It was great, to eat, visit, and share this evening with Mike and Loretta.
.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
Bob worked outside in his sandbox, taking care of many things that were calling for his loving attention, tilling in gardens 3 and 10 and harvesting rutababas, beets, and a Giant Lutz Radish from garden 3.
.
Bob also worked with a shovel, tractor, and log chain to remove part of a tree that was blocking one of the barn doors from opening completely.
.
He also repaired a pully wheel on the tractor mower and then mowed the front lawn and the walking paths.
.
Kathy cleaned the refrigerators out, to make room for anything that they make, or anyone creates here.
.
We came in, and watched the sunset, which was verrrrry beautiful, and so we relaxed until dark and also watched a gorgeous moon rise in the east.
.
Bob enjoyed resting, while Kathy started some more pesto, and we baked more squash and made homemade chicken soup.
.
Loretta stopped by with Sofia and Melissa, and we chatted while Bob and Sofia went out and picked a box full of different styles of birdhouse gourds, that were drying out on a brush pile (to keep the bottoms from getting continually wet, and rotting). Sofia plans on painting them.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Wednesday, October 24, 2007
We got up and got ready to go to Madison, to meet Don S., at the Market Square Theatre.
.
We went in, to see the documentary movie: "Sicko," which was put together by Michael Moore.
.
It tells about things that have happened to people, and their dealings with health care, in the United States.
.
It shared many moving stories about people's lives, and gave many descriptions about what they experienced, in the U.S.
.
Michael also went to France, Canada, England, and Cuba, to give an idea of how people there experience public health care. Everyone in these countries, who was interviewed, was very happy with their health treatment.
.
Those who were interviewed in the U.S. talked about things that happened where they didn't get care, or were given limited or less treatment than what was helpful for their peace of mind, or treatment denied, or health insurances cancelled.
.
It was an interesting and moving documentary, and shows the ease with which other countries make and give public health care a strong priority.
.
For us, it was an opportunity to look at the thoughts that came up, in looking at our ability to keep and feel grateful for our health.
.
After the movie, we went to Perkins, to visit with Don.
.
Bob and Kathy shared a Patty Melt, and Don had a Hot Fudge Chipper Sundae.
The sundae looked sooooooo good, that Kathy and Bob topped it off, to have one too. (Thank-you, Don).
.
We went over to Mary and Don's to visit a little more, and gave them two eggplants and a large Detroit Red Beet, and they gave us some Brewer's Yeast, to try out.
.
We made the drive back to Portage, and saw two deer bucks, on the road back to Bumpity Road. It was good that we were driving very slow, in both cases.
.
When we got home, we watched a show on Public Television entitled: "Do Not Go Gently."
.
It was reminiscent of feelings which came up, from watching the earlier movie, our discussions with Don, and the beauty of growing older.
.
"Do Not Go Gently" interviews three artists who have maintained their passions into their golden years, and are very happy doing that.
.
Yes, a very accomplished quilter, musical composer, and dancer. It was very inspiring and moving.
.
Thank you for this inspiring day! We are very grateful to rest, and see the blessings with which we're so strongly graced!
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Thursday, October 25, 2007
Bob and KAThy went to Farmer's Market, to look for some garlic bulbs, and there were none to be found.
It's always great, to go to the farmer's market.
.
Then, we went to Baraboo, to see Sheila K. and Linda M., and take them some more squash.
.
Taking the squash was a great reason to come together with dear friends, to share laughter and love.
.
Thank you, squash 'a plenty angels!
.
We talked and visited with them for quite a while, and they both looked like they are feeling great!
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Friday, October 26, 2007
We were up and sharing, when a call came from Bob's mom, Helen, asking Bob about playing with the card rejoicers.
.
Aunt Eva called soon after that, to say that Victor wanted to play too.
.
So, Bob went into town to meet with them (the three ocotogenarians).
.
Kathy stayed at Bumpity Road, and took care of some things here, at home.
.
Now, we're nestled in, to relax and BE at home TOgether. Thank you, Angels!
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Saturday, October 27, 2007
We continued the harvest, with deciding which additional plants to pot, and bring inside.
.
This includes more basil and thyme.
.
And more kale.
.
We decided to add some tomato plants to the basil planters, and see what happens to them.
.
Amish friends (and neighbors) Mel and Clara stopped by, to bring our containers that we'd given them, to take leftover food home, from when they came to the birthday party.
.
It was cute to see the horse and buggy trotting down the driveway bringing this "retired" Amish couple for a visit.
.
Kathy also harvested some catnip, nettle leaf, and other fresh delights, to make sun tea, and other treats.
.
Kathy picked all the peppers in her herb garden (G-1)and pulled the plants up, and then did the same for all the eggplant fruit and plants in G-2 and G-3.
.
Bob plowed more fields, to continue getting ready for next year's harvest.
.
It is a ONEderful opportunity, to embrace the plenty, which we are sooooo blessed with!
.
Seventeen pots of various sizes are now inside, in the Sunrise Room, for the winter, some of them with as many as 3 plants.
.
Thank you God, for all the green growing things, that nourish all, at our table!

Loretta called, and offered to give Kathy a massage. So, Loretta came by to do this, and eat lunch with us.
.
Thank you Loretta Angel, for letting your fingers be so blessed.
.
Bob went into town, to play with the card slingers, Mom Helen, Victor, and Aunt Eva.
.
Kathy stayed at Bumpity Road, and prepared for her trip to Kentucky, to see her mother, Newell.
.
Again, Bob had to stop twice for deer crossing the road in front of him!
.
Then, Bob and Kathy shared together tonight, relaxing and enjoying the blessing, of everything that is NOW!

Monday, 10-29-07
It is a cool day, and all is flowing along beautifully!
.
We were up, and taking care of harvesting, once again. Bob brought more beets and rhutabagas in, and checked the squash that were nestling in the barn, to find some that are still good.
.
One box and 14 big pails of winter squash to sort through!
.
Kathy made phone calls to friends in Chicago and Cincinnati about meeting her at the bus stations, in these places, on her trip to see her mother, in Kentucky. She talked with those at the Peace House, who may meet her at the Greyhound station, in Cincinnati. It will be a fun journey, in which she'll see old and new friends, all along the way.
.
Bob continued bringing things in, from outside.
.
Kathy packed her bags, for the journey, with family and friends.
.
Kathy talked with Laurie to share the beautiful course, How to Be Loving, How to Be Loved. Thank you Laurie, for JOY'ning in this fabulous experience.
You are a radiant light of Love!
.
We came together, to eat a delicious meal, including a stir fry of beets, rhutabagas, tomatoes, and some meat, which was very tasty.
.
Thank you Holy Spirit, for all of the blessings!

Tuesday, 10-30-07
Kathy finished packing for her two weeks wih her mom in Kentucky, while Bob got a late lunch ready.
.
A very, very strong wind was blowing our protective tarp off of Kathy's herb garden!
.
Bricks were actuall flipped off the tarp and pails of water overturned!
.
So Bob moved several hundred pounds of heavy concrete blocks onto the edges of the tarp, and around all four sides, and it is now behaving itself!   :-)
.
Then we drove to Middleton and had a very enjoyable visit with Don and Mary.
.
Afterwards, we met Catherine B. at Perkins Restaurant on University Ave., to hear about her recent trip and adventures to Machu Pichu, in Peru.
.
Then, off to the Greyhound Bus depot, where KAThy boarded the 8:45 p.m. bus for Chicago, and then to transfer for Cincinatti,Ohio, and Lexington, Kentucky, etc.
.
Bob then drove home, keeping a sharp watchout for deer crossing the highways.

Wednesday,10-31-07
.
Kathy called from the Greyhound Bus depot in Chicago, shortly before 1 a.m. this morning.
.
She had a 3 hour layover, before leaving for Cincinatti.
.
Her brother Clay Martin, met her at the Greyhound stop in Lexington, Kentucky, with some things for Kathy's mom.
.
Kathy called from her mom's, Ye Olde Kentuckie Home Far Away, :-) in the late afternoon, to chat about the adventures of her trip and the people she had chatted with, including Amish, returning to Kentucky.
.
We still have 8 watermelon and about 70 winter varieties of squashes, which we are eating and giving away.
.
Bob put a trayful of butternut squash in the oven of the wood cookstove and let them roast all afternoon at mild temperatures, making them very tasty!
.
We now have a weekly watering schedule for the 17 pots of plants in the Sunrise Room.
.
Some of the pots have as many as 3 different plants, such as kale, tomatoes, onions, chives, basil, mint, thyme, parsley, etc.
.
Gardens 1, 3, and 4, still have a few things to be harvested, hopefully, by willing hands here this weekend. :-)
.
And so, October comes to a close, and no trick-or-treaters have made it down our long bumpity road tonight, although, the wind dancing, on and around the tarp over KAThy's herb garden, was really making it sound like a lot of somebodies, partying, most of the night!
.
Maybe "they," were? :-)
.
After all, it was Halloween!
