DAVID ("ZIGGY STARDUST") BOWIE & THE RABBIT WHO FELL TO EARTH

BOWIE'S NOT-SO-FUNNY BUNNY

David Bowie may be looking over his shoulder Monday when he plays the Hammerstein Ballroom to kick off the Audi and Conde Nase "Never Follow" awards. The Thin White Dude believes he's being followed by a large pink rabbit -- he's spotted a guy in a bunny suit at several of his recent shows.

"I thought, 'Hey, it's rock 'n roll. It's just a 5-foot-3 bunny'." But when he got on a plane to his next tour stop, he saw the bunny was on board.

New York City, Saturday, May 1, 2004 -- Is it pure chance that famed singer, musician and actor David Bowie, known for his space themes in his music and movies and his young adult UFO interests, is being followed by a mysterious Harvey the Rabbit type character as reported in the Daily News yesterday? Perhaps.

But it may be truly synchronistic and significant that the English-born New Yorker Bowie is being haunted -- or hounded -- by someone in a rabbit's suit, even on an airplane flight, because it is consistent with our own reported experience.

Bowie played the starring role of a space alien in the 1976 movie "The Man Who Fell To Earth" by Nicolas Roeg in the part Tommy Newton, who came a water-starved planet.

In 1972 his immensely popular album "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars" (one of my favorite albums!) gave music to his space interests, as did his first LP "Space Oddity" in 1969, picturing him, a space alien and spaceship on the cover. In 1985 he released a single called "Loving the Alien."

In interviews the Englishman Bowie tells of his childhood interest in the space program and UFOs, even having sightings and publishing a small newsletter on UFOs when he was a teen.

In 1983 he starred in the movie "The Hunger" playing a vampire, a film adaptation of Whitley Strieber's novel of the same name. Strieber, whose first major book, "The Wolfen" was made nto a movie three years before, was unaware of any of his own close encounters until late 1985.

Also, in 1983 Bowie made his own movie of "Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." The DVD for the movie shows Bowie face with a flame above it, a flame which resembles the shape of a RABBIT (see picture below in links).

There is even a fascinating website about Bowie called BowieWonderWorld.com which will give both fans and those unfamiliar with Bowie much information on him.

Here in the Big Apple on May 22 Budd Hopkins will have a public UFO abduction seminar with two abductees, one of whom is Steve Jones coming in from England. In the mid-1970's he and other teen David Bowie fans watching a TV show on Bowie had "missing time" stealth encounters.

Also, the "Mojo" rock music magazine devotes a whole issue this month to David Bowie, with one of the feature cover stories titled "Loving the ALIEN."

So, it may not be so strange that David Bowie, one of my favorite singers, is being followed by a Harvey-type RABBIT, who is most likely some fan who is dressing in such a costume for reasons unconnected to what we all report in these "Project Wonderland Chronicles."

...But, then, what if there is a connection???

MOON, MARS, BUNNIES and BEYOND

By HAROLD EGELN

New York City, Tuesday, May 4, 2004 -- The President's Commission on Moon, Mars and Beyond held its two days of public hearings in the city at the Asia Society today and yesterday.

HUMAN-PILOTED DEEP SPACE EXPLORATION

It is the last of a series of five public hearings held since February in Washington, DC; Dayton, Ohio; Atlanta, Georgia; and San Francisco, California. The nine commissioners, leaders from diverse segments of society, were charged by the U.S. president to make recommendations based on these wide-ranging hearings about his adminitsration's "Vision for Space Exploration of the Solar System" combining human and robitic missions to the Moon, Mars, asteroids and beyond, including exo-solar planet and astrobiology research and observatories in the search for life beyond Earth. The commissioners will report to the president on June 2.

I attended the hearings in two formal official capacities: first, as a professional journalist, and, second, as vice president of the New York Space Society, a chapter of the DC-based National Space Society (NSS), founded by famed rocket scientist Werhner von Braun in 1974. Our chapter had direct input through a recent public seminar at N.Y. University with one of the commissioners, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space, with a report on the seminar published in the "Space Review." Also, at Monday's session NSS Executive Director George Whitesides formally gave testimony as part of a panel of three grassroots pro-space organization leaders.

Of course there was a third but informal capacity, though unofficial and upsoken, in which I attended as a close encounter explorer and faciliatator of S.P.A.C.E., which made it fun being as a "SpaceMan" disquised as a "Clark Kent."

As a journalist, I took copious notes of the proceedings and will publish my report in a pro-space movement publication. The hearings and testimony were fascinating, along with the attendance of famed astronaut Buzz Aldrin of the first human team with Neal Armstrong to walk on the Moon in July 1969 Apollo 11 mission.

As an encounter interfacer I will soon give a report from an entirely different perspective in the June issue our "S.P.A.C.E. Explorer Newsletter" in our Contact Journal. It will give behind-the-scenes hints at other motivations of the "president's space exploration vision" which will not be entered into the commission's report.

In both my formal and informal articlets there will be complete and in-depth reports.

BUNNY RABBIT AS SPACE EXPLORERS

Of course I expected nothing about rabbits or Wonderland to be a part of these government hearings. As usual, I was wrong, in a sense!

After yesterday's hearing, four of our NSS chapter leaders, including myself, had dinner at a nearby coffee shop to talk with our new NSS director, George Whitesides. We were also accompanied by an officer of the North Texas NSS chapter, a former New Yorker who attended the International Space University (ISU) in FRANCE at Strasbourg (again our French "Little Prince" link), one of its 2,000 graduates so far.

I was sitting at a table with our project director, as our president and a chapter board member talked with Whitesides and the guy from Texas. As our project director and I were deep in our own discussion, I was dimly aware of the conversation at the other table (at home I can, at times, read or write, watch TV and listen to the radio or stereo all at once), keeping both ears tuned in two different directions, like a multi-array radio telescope. I heard the other table people talking about animals best suited for living in space settlements on the Moon, Mars and elsewhere.

"The best animal most suited for living n space colonies is the bunny rabbit," said the guy from Texas. My ears then became as long as rabbit ears! I halted the conversation I was engaged in and focusd on the "BUNNY RABBIT" talk, with the Texan talking about why "bunny rabbits" are most suited for living in space above all other animals, hearing only part of the explanation before the subject was changed.

SPACE po RABBITS, as in the "Po Logic" of "UFOS po RABBITS" described elsewhere in "Project Wonderland," and our whole S.P.A.C.E. -- RABBIT connection sudenly interjected through a unexpected SYNCHRONICITY but fitting our SCIENTIFICALLY PREDICTABLE PATTERN that has run thoughout the "WOW! Contact!" And, as usual now, still ASTOUNDING!!!

As reported in Volume One, Chapter Four of "Project Wonderland" for Jan.-April 2001:

"California aerospace engineer Thomas Gangale has propsed RABBITS as the ideal farm animal suited for a space colony on another world. His idea appears in an article titled "THERE GOES COSMONAUT COTTONTAL" by Andrew Bridges in the February 2001 issue of "SPACE Illustrated" on page 12, published out of New York.

"Because of their compact size, proliferic breeding abilities and fondness for eating scraps, RABBITS would be the perfect candidates for the first space colony animals, claims Gangale, who, with his wife, operates a RABBIT rescue service.

RABBITS may be an essential element of space exploration in establishing a human presence in space and on other worlds. Which may, on one level, be why we are getting the RABBIT ARCHETYPE, but without becoming a part of and ensnared by the rabbit warren itself.

That "Project Wonderland" chapter four introduction is followed by my account of the "WHITE RABBIT at SPACE Toy Exhiibit" dated January 27, 2001 about a sync at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens... Which now fits perfectly in the a remarkable SYNC CLUSTER of "27s" reported in recent days by Anders von Bergen in Finland (who has not seen this account before it was enetered!), giving us a direct link between NYC and FINLAND.

As I wrote the last couple of words, the phrase "Just like NASA in the Sixties" just came on a commercial about health care on the WQXR classical radio of NYT, the New York Times. And the time is exactly, you guessed it, is NOW ("NYT" in Finnish) 12:27 p.m.! WOW!

SOMETHING is actively demonstrating an awareness of Anders and his new "27" sync cluster reports with me in a REAL TIME mode (like in NOW or "NYT") and is making, through an incredibly, intensily aware hyper-intelligence, the conscious connection through the dynamic synchronicity process!!!

SPACE RABBITS AT THE GRASSROOTS

Coming back home today after the two days of Space Commission hearings, I opened a book, "Lost In Space: The Fall of NASA" by journalist Greg Klerkx (the former senior manager of the SETI Institute), published just before the president's January 14 announcement. I opened to the chapter "Welcome to the Revolution" about U.S. nonprofit grassroots space activism (lke NSS, The Planetary Society, The Mars Society, The Moon Society, etc.) and its impact on creating new space legislation through lobbying Congress through the MarchStorm and ProSpace groups.

On the chapter's second page (page 239) I read this passage:

"The person who connected me with MarchStorm and ProSpace was Eric Dahlstrom, whose experience DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE of the SPACE establishment is emblematic...." (emphasis ours.)

WOW! Here's the direct phrase from a Chapter of "ALice's Adventures in Wonderland," making for a direct RABBIT-SPACE association by the former senior manager of the SETI Institute!!!

Two pages later Klerkx went on to say about pro-space activist Dahlstrom, after he secured a job in 1984 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center to create database specifications for the engineering design process for The U.S. Space Station Freedom (now the International Space Station):

"From there, Dahlstrom's space career would increasingy resemble a CARROLLIAN journey through the projects and problems that made NASA what it is today." (emphasis ours)

This makes the connection speciically to Lewis Carroll's "Adventures in Wonderland" totally solid, giving a timely and specific association with space, among variables, as would be expected in a universe and reality engendered from a highly pro-creative intermediate realm based on information, the probable source of matter, energy and mind?

While space is a theme in the popular culture when it comes to UFOs and close encounters, we have a process here that appears to come from what Dr. Remo Roth, the depth psychologist and close encounter researcher from Zurich in Switzerland, calls a "psychophysical reality" which gives rise to encounters and which can be experienced in altered consciousness but distorted when explained in the framework of a regulaR consensus mindset. It helps to give linkages between quantum physics and depth psychology, a prime connection sought by Wolfgang Pauli and Dr. Carl Jung, as highlighted by Dr. Roth.

I am acutely aware that what is reported in our accounts may be dismissed by most UFO researchers, scientists, other journalists and the public at large, consigning the information to a barely opened treasure chest in a dusty cobweb filled attic. I am also mindful of making spurious associations and drawing inferences from them that might be purely without any basis in any meaningful or sensible context. However, the risks far outweigh being silent about all this, and, suppressing and repressing the data and the experience, consigning it to a Never-Never Land.

Perhaps what is being engendered, by examining this account here, as elsewhere in the "Project Wonderland Chronicles," the S.P.A.C.E. website in general, and the whole Close Encounter matrix, could be more properly called "Moon, Mars, Beyond.... and Within."

LOW PROFILE CONTACT of the SUBTLE KIND

By HAROLD EGELN

New York City, NY -- Thursday, May 27, 2004 -- After a busy period from January through early May, the WOW! Contact became low profile by mid-May, with a few episodes and insights here in the city.

A DUTCH TREAT RABBIT AS A GOOD-WILL AMBASSADOR FOR NEW YORK CITY

In a New York Times Television guide a couple of weekends ago, there was a full page article titled "Dutch Bunnies With Depth" by Lisanne Renner about the popular stop-motion animation TV series, "Miffy and Friends," for preschoolers shown on the Noggin children's cable TV network, which I have never seen, lacking cable TV.

The show is based on the famous children's books about Miffy the Rabbit, created nearly 50 years ago in the mid-1950s by Dutch artist and illustrator Dick Bruna, now 76, of Utrecht in Holland. (I live in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, once the western farm area of the Dutch Colonial Colony of New Utrecht -- which is north of Coney Island -- back in the 1600s.)

The TV series, which began in April 2003, features an hour of five minute segments with interactive games to teach young children MATH.

Last Autumn, in 2003, Miffy the Bunny, a female Dutch Rabbit, writes Renner, "became a GOOD-WILL AMBASSADOR for NEW YORK CITY tourism offcials, and this year she is the subject of an exhibiion at the Children's Museum of Manhattan, running through Sept. 2." (Bold Letter emphasis ours.)

So, we have a smart RABBIT teaching MATH (a prime element in SETI research) as an AMBASSADOR of GOOD-WILL for our city's tourists!!! The Children's Museum, by the way, will feature a major life-size, walk-through ALICE IN WONDERLAND exhibit in 2005.

For more on Miffy the Bunny, visit www.miffy.com and www.noggin.com.

AROUND THE MAY-POLE: RABBIT FOOTNOTES

1) *** During the ABC-TV network premier on Monday, MAY 10 of "A Wrinkle In Time," a Canadian made movie based on Madeleine L'Engle's book published in 1962, followed by two sequels, there was a TV commercial which shows a boy in pajamas, holding his father's hand, walking with stuffed toy RABBIT in his other hand into a CROP CIRCLE with a strange bright light shining on theme. It wasn't a UFO but a REMAX Hot Air Balloon, the trademark of the national Remax Realtor Company.

There is also a mention made by a space alien in the movie that what is "unseen and invisible" is what's really "real" and "important" in life. It is similar to the "what is important is nvisible" comment made in "The Little Prince."

2) *** The following afternoon (Tuesday, MAY 11), while on my way to meet a young friend from S.P.A.C.E., I passed a large STONE RABBIT statue in a furniture store window on Manhattan's Second Avenue between 61st and 62nd Streets. Soon after I passed an AT&T phone booth (on First Avenue between 60th and 61st Streets) with an ad for a TV show showing a cross-eyed man holdng a RABBIT, with the text "Vote Fuse," the name of the man, a fictional political candidate. (see www.fuse.tv)

3) *** Before taping a second show about S.P.A.C.E. on a local Manhattan public access cable TV network on the afternoon of Saturday, MAY 15, I went into a Barnes & Noble Bookstore. In the Bargain Books Section, I noticed two stacks of books, separated by another stack of books, one being a novel called "Mr. Spaceman" about a visiting alien and the other being "Hopper's Easter Story" with Hopper the Rabbit on the cover.

4) *** While rummaging through a box to make more room, I came across a leaflet from the Wetlands rock music club in Manhattan's Tribica arts and restaurant neighborhood. Wetlands, now closed, featured a progressive music format highlighting environmental and peace issues, with at least one program on UFOs.

This leaflet, from July 30, 1989 featured videos and rock music groups for The Animal's Agenda organization. The first song was "RABBIT In The MOON" by the then locally popular Aztec Two-Step group, and the leaflet's artwork showed the legendary, mythical RABBIT in the MOON.

5) *** One of the recurrent commercials this May on WQXR the Classical Radio Station of The New York Times, is all about "FRIENDLY FINLAND" sponsored by the FINNISH Tourist Board (www.VisitFinland.com), run in connection with music by Finnish composers. Every day an area or subject of FINLAND was highlighted in the commercials, and on Wednesday, MAY 19 the commercial told of the many delights of HELSINKI, mentioning sites, restaurants, museums and nightclubs.

In a way, we have two tourist connections here, with Miffy the BUNNY as New York City's "Good-Will AMBASSADOR" for tourists, and a featured commercial for FINLAND TOURISM.

6) *** Also, another WQXR Radio commercial, later this month, tells of a tour sponsored by General Tours (www.generaltours.com) ALICE TRAVELS (as in Alice In Wonderland), FINN-AIR and WQXR to HELSINKI, St. Petersburg and Moscow this coming October 15-25.

7) *** And a Finnish gay organization I read about, called Tom of FINLAND, along with the Consulate General of FINLAND in New York, no less, held an sexy art expo last weekend here in the city, along with an ongoing art exhibit at a local art gallery, with a focus on sensual LOVE.

8) *** On the evening of Wednesday, MAY 19 I watched my videotape of the 1951 science fiction classic space movie, "When Worlds Collide" based on the book by Philip Willie. With the Earth doomed by a collision by a star interloping into our solar system, rocket scientists build a huge "Noah's Ark" spaceship to land people on the new world which orbits the interloping star. Guess what the first caged animals that are shown in the movie? Two WHITE RABBITS, again associated with SPACE.

9) *** While riding a bus south on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan on Saturday, MAY 22 at 7:10 p.m., I noticed, fo the first time, that a large building at the southwest corner of West 57th Street features signs titled "PLAYBOY ENTERPRIZES" with the symbol of the famous PLAYBOY BUNNY. The builidng it is in is the CROWN Building, with the CROWN a significant symbol experienced by both Gary in England and Anders in Finland.

It was on West 57th Street, a few blocks west at Ninth Avenue near Columbus Circle, where I and others sighted UFOs in the 1990s.

10) *** Later that night, after midnight (now on Sunday, MAY 23), I was watching an early 1940s movie from ENGLAND called "Mrs. Miniver" with actor Walter Piegon (who 15 years later starred in the 1956 sci-fi movie "Forbidden Planet"). During a Nazi bombing raid on the Miniver family's village, Mrs. Miniver, in a house basement shelter, was reading "ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND" by LEWIS CARROLL, and Mr. Miniver quoted from it. I checked the time immedatey when the book cover appeared--- Hey, it was 12:27 a.m., of course.

11) *** Finally watching my videtape of "Hook," the Peter Pan (grown into an adult) movie, starring Robert WILLIAMS and Maggie Smith, which factored into syncs reported by Anders von Bergen in April, on the evening of Monday, MAY 24 I noticed our friend towards the end of the movie. In a scene over a main door of Wendy Darling's house in London was a RABBIT design.

*** *** ***

Are these incidents meaningful? If they are, it's a low profile contact of a subtle kind.
