VETERAN'S DAY We our honored to have several military veterans in our church. We want to take the opportunity to thank them for your dedication and sacrifical service to our nation.

20th Anniversary Celebration - Sunday, Oct. 11 We will celebrated the 20th Anniversary of our church on Sunday, Oct. 11.

A GREAT IDEA FOR OLD BIBLES If you have old Bibles that are in good condition that you would like to donate, please bring them to the church and we will offer them along with food from the Community Food Basket in the foyer.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL OPTIONS Beginning on August 24, adults have two Sunday School Classes to pick from. There is a group that meets in the sanctuary and a group that meets in His Way Cafe'. Both groups are devoted to Bible Study/Discussion are are taught by rotating teachers. Come join us each week; as the popular song declares, "Everybody ought to go to Sunday School".

COMMUNITY FOOD BASKET We could use your help to restock our church's grocery cart in the foyer. Thank you for your faithful support to this vital ministry. The groceries have been a blessing to many people especially during the current economic times.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TIME Because one of our Adult Sunday School Class meets in the sanctuary, there are many distractions. Please help by keeping conversation and movement to a mininum from 9:30-10:15. Thank you for your consideration.

PEOPLE WHO NEED RIDES TO CHURCH From time to time, people call the church who would like to attend but do not have transportation to get here. For this reason, we are developing a list of people who are willing to provide rides to these individuals. We want to have a number of servants to cover different parts of our areas. If you are interested, please sign up in the foyer. Pastor Dan will contact you to discuss this ministry and our procedures.

WATER BAPTISM SERVICE All believers are commanded to be baptized in water by immersion to obey the Lord, follow His example, testify of His saving grace and demonstrate to the world that we are followers of Jesus Christ. See Pastor Dan if you would like to be baptized.

DEBT REDUCTION SUNDAY The second Sunday of each month is Debt Reduction Sunday - we bring our special offerings to the Lord to help reduce the debt on our building. This month the money will go to reseal the parking lot.

NEW MEMBERS CLASSES There are brochures on the foyer table if you are interested in becoming a voting member. The pamphlet details eligibility and the process. The New Members Classes will be held Sunday mornings at 9:30 am on Sept. 13 and 20 in Pastor Dan's office. See Pastor Dan if you are interested in officially joining our church family.

CITY UNION MISSION WOMEN'S MINISTRIES PROJECT The Women's Ministries group is sponsoring a City Union Mission Project. We are gathering supplies this month to provide a helping hand for many who are in need. Goods will be collected in the foyer through Sunday Nov. 1. You will find a list of articles needed for children, women, and men on the yellow sheet.

LIGHT THE NIGHT ON SATURDAY OCT. 31 This year LIGHT THE NIGHT from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on Oct. 31! We need people to decorate their vehicles for Trunk or Treat. We also need others to serve refreshments. See Esther Wakefield if you are interested.

KANSAS WOMEN'S CONFERENCE On Oct 2 & 3 our ladies will attend the Kansas Women's Conference in Wichita. Sigh up by this Wednesday if you are interested. Registration is $45 and hotel cost will be about $40.

2008 Life Chain The Life Chain is Sunday, October 12 from 1:30-2:30. Our church stands for life at the southwest corner of 95th and Antioch. We often hear from new participants how meaningful and easy it is to take a one hour stand for life. We hope you'll join us.

FLOAT IN OVERLAND PARK PARADE - Sept. 26 This Saturday, Sept. 26, we will participate in this year's Overland Park parade. We will sponsor a float & kids train. Everyone is welcome to join us. We encourage you to wear a VBS T-shirt. We will meet in down town Overland Partk at 1:00, Please sign up today in the foyer if you are interested.

LABOR DAY PICNIC - Sunday, Sept. 6 at 6:30 On Sunday, Sept. 6 at 6:30, We will have a Labor Day Picnic. The church will provide the hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, & drinks, & silverware. Each family should bring two side dishes, each serving 8 people. Please sign up in the foyer if you plan to attend.

Ladies' Salad Supper - Wednesday, Sept. 2 Instead of the regular Ladies' meeting on the first Wed. in Sept., there will be a salad supper followed by a DVD of Chonda Pierce who is a Christian comedian. Please bring a salad of your choice and invite a lady friend.

College & Career COLORADO ROADTRIP This Wednesday morning, Sept. 30, at 7:00 am, our College & Career group will head to Colorado Spings for a few days of fun, fellowhip, and faith. They will return home on Saturday evening

ANTIOCH 124 YOUTH SWIM PARTY - Aug. 22 On Saturday, Aug, 22 at 4:00 pm all youth and young adults are invited to a swim party at the Hartland's.

ANTIOCH 124 YOUTH Putt-Putt PARTY - Aug. 21 On Friday night, Aug. 21, there is a kick off to the Friday night version of Antioch 124. All middle school, junior high school, & high school students are invited to participate as we go minature golfing. Bring money for your own refreshments.

CHURCH GOLF OUTING on Saturday, Aug. 8 The golf outing has been planned and organized for the morning of Saturday, Aug 8 at the Overland Park Golf Club. Those wanting to participate in the day of golf should sign up in the foyer. Cost and tee times will be announced soon. Contact Frank Covington if you have questions.

EASTER CHOIR PRACTICE - Sunday Evening at 5:00 The choir has started rehearsing the Easter Cantata. We want to encourage everyone who would consider being a part of our Easter Choir to talk to the choir director,Steve Meeker.

EASTER CANDY HUNT - April 4 Saturday, April 4, from 1:00-2:30, we will host our annual Easter Candy Hunt. Make sure to invite and bring your neighbors to this wonderful outreach to our community. Please see Susan Reeder if you want to help or have questions.

SUPER BOWL OUTREACH - Sunday, Feb. 1 We will meet at Beach Bum's Restaurant for a Super Bowl Outreach on Sunday, Feb. 1. This is a wonderful way to have your friends and family hear the Good News and have an opportunity to respond in a friendly, non-threatening environment. From 5:00 pm until the end of the game, we will watch the Super Bowl Game and festivities in a private room with a mammoth TV. They are offering usa an all-you-can-eat buffet for the entire event. The cost is $8.99 for adults and $6.99 for children. The buffet features pizza, salad, dessert, and drinks. During half-time, Pastor Dan will bring a evangelistic message and will offer everyone an invitation to accept Jesus and to get right with God. Beach Bum's Island Restaurant is at 11440 West 135th street in the North Point Shopping Center.

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING 2009 - Wed,, Jan. 28 Our Abundant Life Annual Business Meeting will be held on Wed., Jan. 28 at 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend, but only official church members will be able to vote. Our Antioch 124 Youth Groups will meet, but there will be no KidZone that evening.

JUBILEE SUNDAY - Sunday, Dec. 14 during 10:30 am service On the fifthieth week of the year, we bring our special offerings to the Lord and ask His blessings upon His church an upon our lives.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE - DEC. 24 Join us at 6:30 pm on Christmas Eve as we celebrate the joy of the Savior's birth in a special service tetruing the saongs and story of the first Christmas.

LADIES CHRISTMAS PARTY The Ladies' Christmas Party will be help at Winchel's Home on Thurs., Dec. 4 at 6:30 pm. Each lady is asked to bring a finger food. There will also be an ornament exchange if you woud like to participate. A group will leave from the church building at 6:00 if you want to carpool.

CHRISTMAS CARD EXCHANGE This is the last week that the Chistmas card exchange sacks will be available in the foyer. Please check to see if you have any cards addressed to you on the back table.

ADULT CHRISTMAS PARTY - DEC. 17 If you are coming sign up in the foyer and pay Tamara today. There will be an optional $10 gift exchange.

Groups (discipleship) 2ND WEEK - HIS BANQUETING TABLE & IN HIS PRESENCE (PRAYER) 3rd week - Circle of Friends (evangelism) 4th week - Dinner & Devotion (fellowship) In His Presence is a prayer service on the 2nd Wedneday of the month. Before the time of prayer we offer "HIS BANQUETING TABLE". A donation of $6 per adult or $3 per child is appreciated. Groups (discipleship) 2nd week - In His Presence (prayer) 3rd WEEK - CIRCLE OF FRIENDS (evangelism) 4th week - Dinner & Devotions On the third Wednesday of most months, we have Circle of Friends gatherings at 7 pm. These ministry groups are held in several homes, a restaurant, and our church. This ministry is a great way to reach out to others and help develop meaningful relationships. Everyone is welcome to participate. Please contact Mark if you would like to join one of our Circles of Friends.

HIS BANQUETING TABLE will not be provided during the summer months.

INTERNATIONAL PRAYER MEETING - August 7 The monthly night vigil is the first Friday of month at 11:00pm to about 4:30 am The worship, lessons, prayer, etc. are lead by Christians orginally from Nigeria.

PRIME TIME TUESDAY on Aug. 18 If you are 65+, join us for Prime Time Tuesday on Aug 18 at Cracker Barrel in Olathe. The fun starts at 11:15 am.

Groups (discipleship) 2nd week- In His Presence (prayer) 3rd week - Circle of Friends (evangelism) 4TH WEEK - DINNER & DEVOTIONS (FELLOWSHIP) On the fourth Wednesday of the month we have our Dinner and Devotion gathering. This ministry is a great time of food, fellowship, and Biblical teaching. Beginning promptly at 7:00 pm, we will serve dinner for everyone, including our KidZone and Antioch 124 Youth. (A donation is suggested.) Afterwards, around 7:45, we will have a short devotional lesson lead my Pastor Dan. Please help us get an accurate count by signing up in the foyer today.

L.I.F.E. GROUPS ON THE FIRST WED. NIGHT OF THE MONTH - Nov. 4 Join us for L.I.F.E Groups this Wedneday at 7:00 pm. The groups include a Ladies' Joy Fellowship, Honor Bound Men, Antioch 124 Youth, and KidZone. 1st week - L.I.F.E.
