WHEN ALL ELSE FAILS

Turning back, going home.
A place in your heart, where
you once belonged.
You gave your heart, and love
to another.
Now your turning back, and
going home.

The road is long as it bends
and turns.
A river crossing, a bridge worn
out.
A summer breeze in the midst
of winter.
When all else fails, and your
going home.

Back roads taken, long and
narrow.
Have now been forsaken for
loves memory.
Of those younger years, and
happy days.
All washed away with sweet
falling tears.

Through lifes given pathway
the strong will survive.
The weak one will tarry and
fall by the wayside.
When all else fails someone
comes along.
With a helping hand the weak
become strong.

Turning back going home, to
the place where you belong.
Where in your heart once was
held joy.
Taken away somewhere on
the way.
Now promising yourself forever
more.
The joy you took back, will never
be taken again.

Listen to the laughter in the falling
rain.
Listen as the thunder rolls.
For at the end of the path is a
new horizon.
When all else fails, a new
beginning going home.
