AS LIFE UNFOLDS

Much like a rose unfolding its
velvet petals.
So does life unfold its secrets.
Count each petal one by one.
Call them the steps to life that
lead to you.

The first velvet petal placed
between your finger tips.
Is the softness you feel in life
when a baby is born.
The second velvet petal placed
between your finger tips.
Is the sound of a newborn babies
first cry.

Sending chills down your spine
and bringing a tear to your eye.
Is the third velvet petal placed
between your finger tips.
The proud look on daddys face
as he hands out the cigars.
One that cannot be replaced call
it the fifth velvet petal placed
between your finger tips.

From the six velvet petal til you
reach the very end.
Name them all positive the things
that bring happiness and joy without
end.
The magic is in the velvet petal as
you touch everyone.
Bringing to mind the softness of
life's unfolding ways.

There is good in everything and
everyone.
There is life out there and a sharing
to be done.
As Life Unfolds in the blooming of
a rose.
Touch the petals one by one.
