on the front porch. Smoking his pipe, looking out over the miles of fields, no longer being planted. Grandma was shaking her loom rugs out as she did everyday. Her eyes gazing over the miles of fields, as a tear came to her eyes. Her eyes looked over at Grandpa rocking, and she saw a man who gave his life to the land. Now he and the land are resting. She walked over, sat next to him in her rocking chair. He reached over and grabbed her hand, holding it gently. He rocked starring across the land. As a tear fell down from her eye. She said, "Grandpa after all these years, I still love ya, just thought I would tell ya, while we are here rockin' in the afternoon. "Grandma?' Yes, "Grandpa", "put the music on, I feel like dancin with you." "Sure will, Grandpa." As the music started to play, Grandpa took Grandma in his arms, and began singing to her along with the song. A magic filled the air, as he swung her around, holding her tight in his arms. It was like the first time. As the sunset covered the land with its shadow. They danced, and he would tip her back, laughing he planted a kiss on cheek. Grandma says, "Grandpa you getting frisky on me?'. Grandpa smiled, as he swung her around again. "Sure am Grandma." Grandma giggled, "Grandpa we ain't youngens no more." Magic was in the air, as Grandma looked in Grandpas eyes, she saw him young again. Grandpa looking into Grandmas eyes whispered, "I Love You Darlin'." Grandmas eyes became tearyeyed. She whispered back, "I Love You Too Darlin". As the car drove by Grandpa and Grandmas house. Not a thing has changed, the two rocking chairs are still rocking. The loom rug is blowing in the wind. And you can still hear music playing. The sounds of laughing, and giggling. And there Magic still in the air, as you heard, them whisper "I Love You Darlin'." In This Life. written by: Paula aka Angel Of Love August 28, 2003
