High in the towers of the lighthouse the keeper looks over the sea. As the motion of the search light in the darkness of the night goes around and around. He watches day and night not free to take flight. As darkness covers me like a blanket. I have turned my eyes from the reality I have known. Never to be accepted into your world becoming a part of what I felt was so right. I gaze upon the expressions of life. I fall to pieces each time I see you again. Because I know we can never be again. You are the keeper of the gilded cage I am living in. I see your face smiling at me, and only then do I feel happy again. As a tear runs down my face, I then remembered, you held onto your heart never letting it go. While my heart held onto my love for you never letting you know. You stayed long enough to give me hope, and make me dream again. Like a bird in the wind you are gone. So young, yet so old, you captured my heart and my soul. But in a moment it all collapsed, ripping apart my heart. I could sense the restlessness in your spirit crying out to go. And now your gone never to return again. Like the watcher in the lighthouse, he is the keeper of the boats at sea. As for me, you are the keeper of the gilded cage I am living in. The keeper of my heart, never to be free. written by: Paula aka Angel Of Love June 18, 2003 |
