The sun was hot that day, as
they made there way up the mountain.
It was high noon, and they desperately
looked for shade.
The higher they climbed the trees became
scarce.
As sweat poured down there faces.
They stopped for a rest. Took a drink
of water and sat looking at one another.
As one of them spoke,"why did we think
we could climb this mountain and find
heaven up here?"
As he slumped down and said, "I am
taking a nap now."
The others did the same.
As the sun stood still above them in
the heat of the day.
As they slept, a dark cloud moved in
casting a shadow over them blocking
the sun.
A slight breeze began to blow.
A few hours later the cloud began to
move away, and as it did you heard
a rolling of thunder in the distance.
It woke the climbers, and as they
rose to there feet they felt the ground
move beneath them.
"Come on," one of them said "lets get
going."
Off they went to continue climbing up
the mountain.
The heat of the sun became more
intense the higher they climbed.
The air became thinner, harder for
them to breath.
One of the climbers, barely able to
speak said, "I can't go on any more
go ahead without me."
"No", they all said in unison.
As they made there way to the climber
who wanted to give up, one spoke,"lets
leave our gear here," and they all
helped there friend.
"We are almost to the top now", said
another one.
"We are going to make it together", he
added.
They made it to the top, each and every
one of them.
Exhausted and tired they collapsed to
the ground, laughing.
"We did it", one spoke, after catching
his breath.
They all jumped to there feet, dancing
around, shouting.
Then a silence came over them.
As they looked, they saw, they
marvled at what was around them.
They were above the clouds, they
were in heaven.
Here they saw the brightest star they
have ever seen.
They saw Gods creation from way
up top of a mountain top.
"We did it," one spoke, "that is what
it is all about."
Together they triumphed, they helped
a brother.
They had faith enough to pursue, they
believed in themselves.
They made it safely back down the
mountain.
They said there goodbyes to one
another.
As they parted each going there own
way.
They will never forget seeing, "The
Brightest Star," above the clouds
on that heavenly day.
