EARTH'S LIFE: "MOTHER NATURE'S CHILDREN"

Our main theme is being both Earth Caretakers and Space Explorers, as "stardust beings on Earth going back to our home in the stars" and as "Mother Nature's children," as Neil Young sung, "boarding silver spaceships..." into what could be called "the Real Wonderland." Why Earth and Space together? At an Earth Day Fair in April 2004 at Grand Central Station the New York Space Society was a participant and there was a write-up about that soon after in the National Space Society's "Ad Astra" Magazine: *** "The chapter joined the Earth Day event to take the opportunity to speak to as many people as possible about the reasons why space exploration and Earth preservation groups should work together as one," said chapter President Candace Pankanin in the article."It turns out that most of the members of our group not only belong to the National Space Society and other space related groups, but also to animal protection and Earth preservation organizations." COSMIC ECOLOGY: "The Clearest Way Into the Universe is Through a Forest in the Wilderness" -- John Muir

COSMIC ECOLOGY encompasses the entire living cosmos of which the planet Earth -- Spaceship Gaia -- is embedded and connected. Here we will present samples of Harold Egeln's "Eco-Frontier" environmental columns which were first published in the New York City alternative media newspaper, "Downtown" in the mid-1990s and updated to current events.
