MACRMissing Air Crew Reports There are a number of resouces to obtain a MACR the one we recomendUSAAF & USAF Aircraft Accident Reports 1918-1955 A new addition to our site is a MACR data base . Here we have begun to list the MACR number , unit assigned , the date of loss and the plane s serial number . As you will see this info is grouped by Wing . You can obtain the MACR 's threw the above mentioned service . We have done numerous researchs & this service is the very best there is ! Even if you have few detail s this service can work with minimal information . This is only the beginning of the MACR data base (1-22-01 ) As with all aspects of our site if you have any other MACR numbers to add we will appreciate it ! The MACR roster s are growing to help with loading & editing I am breaking the information in two sections . The 73 rd & 58 th Wing will be posted on page 1. The 313 , 314 & 315 Wings will be on page 2 . { 2-11-01 }
City of 314 WingA new addition to the data base is a separate page for the planes of the 314 Wing 19 , 29 , 39 , & 330 groups .This wing had a standard theme the "City of 's" for their nose art . Some also carried a additional name on the other side of the plane this is where you will see the "a.k.a" within the list . Pete Weiler has sent us a lot of the info posted on these planes ,Thank You ! There are a couple of exceptions not all "City of s " belonged to the 314 These will be listed below the 314 plane roster .
RAF B-29 sThe Washingtons were used to equip 9 RAF Squadrons of 8 aircraft each (I presume the other 15 were reserves) at 3 bases Marham, Coningsby and Watton. The squadrons were, in order of being equipped, 115, 149, 90, 15, 44 , 57, 207, 35 and 192.{87 total} Chris Howlet is doing research on these planes . His Dad worked on these he has teamed up with Sparky to chronicle these planes before during & after thier service with the RAF . He has sent us the photo posted on the page .Thank You
