Benevolence Institute

A scholarly, fraternal and convivial association for the study and discussion of philosophy, religion, ethics, culture and history (with emphasis on the ancient). Our common, most basic and over-riding principle is charity, good-will or benevolence. The Institute is non-denominational, ecumenical, and academic in nature. It is also known as GOD'S BENEVOLENCE INSTITUTE {DEI BENEVOLENTIAE SODALITAS in Latin} and DELTA ALPHA PHI (a registered service-mark of the Institute). The association, various chapters and/or members are also affiliated or associated with one or more of the following organizations or orders, but remain non-sectarian and ecumenical with regard to the Institute or Fraternity:
the Indo-European Studies Association (UCLA), the Order of Cyprus (anciently the Order of Silence and the Sword), the Order of St. John (i.e. priories autonomous of the papal SMOM), the Roman Catholic Church, the American Orthodox Catholic Church, the Independant Catholic Church (International), and certain other bodies and institutions.
