At 20 mos old now, he is very solid at a weight of 64 lbs, and is 19 1/2" tall...A Very balanced, promising young male with a lovely expression, strong rear and front (good shoulders and forearm length)... OUR BREEDING PLANS & IDEAS
The last 10 yrs here have been focused on producing generations of completely Sound dogs of CORRECT TYPE, SOLID TEMPERAMENT and EXCELLENT HEALTH, and we felt that this could be best accomplished by using our 'proven' stud dog, *Cruise* in as many in-breeding combinations as possible. These in-breeding combinations with Cruise are proving to be very successful in helping us to establish a STRONG and DEPENDABLE foundation line, which includes VERY good health and temperament...."Our Van Gunn line"....With our foundation now being established, it is time for us to include in our future breedings, 2 partially outcrossed males, (Ransom & Sparrow), which ties back into our Van Gunn line through ONE dog in particular, *CRUISE*. Our next tentative breeding should be taking place early 2010. It is an exciting time for us to include these influences in our future line-breedings, to help us continue on in the tradition of producing very promising - quality puppies. ~
SIDE NOTE: WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE OTHER AMSTAFF BREEDERS TO EXPERIMENT WTIH IN-BREEDINGS AS THIS BREEDING PRACTICE CAN BE VERY RISKY. WITHOUT PROPER AND CAREFULL SELECTION OF IN-BREEDING COMBINATIONS, INCLUDING A CLOSE FOLLOWING FOR THE LIFE OF THE PUPPIES PRODUCED IN THESE BREEDINGS, ONE CAN BE COMBINING POSSIBLE (LEATHAL GENES)..THUS, PRODUCING DOGS WHO COULD BE CARRIERS OF SUCH GENES WHICH CAN PRODUCE DISEASES OR POOR TEMPERAMENTS.
