A puppy's eyes are full of trust, They see you always fair and just, And you can almost see them say, You are his God in every way.

Though judgment may be often wrong, He'll stick by you, his faith is strong. You shame yourself by deed or whim, You're still the best, if just to him.

Just call his name and he'll be there, To ease whatever you must bear. He'll follow you, though you may roam, For where you are, that is his home.

So never, never let him see, How cruel life can really be. He'll love you till the very end, No wonder he's called man's best friend.
