~CH. BLUGRASS FRIENDLY WAGER~ Let me first say, that "Wager" is the dog I've been breeding for. He is my "Dream Come True". I always said that if I could produce a shar-pei who would leave his "mark" on the breed and be known in the history of the breed, I'd die a happy woman. Well, "Wager" is that dream, and believe me, he has done me proud. Wager now belongs to Ellana Clarke, of Chi-Kuan Shar-Pei. He was obtained as a show potential puppy of 4 months. Neither Ellana or I ever thought he would become the fantastic dog he has become, and are both thrilled at his show record! Wager SURPASSED any of our expectations, and has become one of the top ranked shar-pei in the country! Wager's litter had been Futurity nominated for the 2000 Nationals, and it is certainly a good thing, as after he had already taken the showring by storm, by becoming the #20 shar-pei in the country, at the tender young age of 6 months, and taking several Best of Breeds over top specials and also Group placements befrore the age of 9 months, he finished his championship at 10 months, then went on to become the Grand Futurity Winner at the 2000 Nationals, in Orlando, Florida. WHAT A THRILL that was for his owner Ellana Clarke, myself, the owner of his sire, Patricia Miller, and the breeder I obtained his mother from, on co-ownership, Lisa Myers!! To say we were proud of him, was to put it mildly. Wager then retired to "mature" for a few months, then came back out and took the shar-pei world by storm again, taking a Group 4 at the prestigeous Cleveland Crown Classic show, which was featured on Animal Planet in January, 2001, and also taking Best of Breed over many of the TOP shar-pei in the country, including the #1 shar-pei "Otis", and also "Aurora", the Best of Breed winner from Westminster for 2001!! His breed and group wins include.... 39 Best of Breeds 14 Group Placements #20 All Breed at age 6 months #13 CSPCA as of 01/01/02 #06 All Breed as of 01/01/02 #1 United ranking Reserve Best In Show Winner--United KC American Championship on 5/6/00 at 10 months o United Championship on 6/17/01 Canadian Championship on 7/8/01 Wager's personality befits his name. He is FRIENDLY to everyone. The day before, he took a BOB and Group 2! These wins were over some of the top pei in Canada and the US. **UPDATE: Wager went BOB all 5 days of the Woodstock shows in July of 2002 and Group II on three of the days.
