This page is all about nothing, and I hope you enjoy the stay--I will strive to update nothing as often as possible---

The Master Of Disaster

New Ride for Road Trippin'

I located this Sportsmobile not too far from home, and the price was so good I couldn't do anything else but buy it---

I'm not wild about Chrysler products, but this Van is perfect, needs nothing, and you can eat off of it anywhere--inside or out.
Plus the PS, PB, PDL, PW, PM, Tilt, Cruise, AC, CD, and a bunch of other factory ammenties make this a real nice Van to have.

Not Too BIg--Not Too Small

I really like the interior space the Sportsmobile offer's.
Plus an almost full sized 12v/ 110v Norcold refrigerator, 3000 watt inverter, microwave, porta potti, built in CB in the front ceiling console, TV/ VCR , internal antenna loop built into the pop top,10 gallons fresh water, grey water tank, nice sized stainless sink, hot water, 4 flourescent lamps ( two are upstair's in the roof of the pop top), an actual full sized closet, real nice fold out couch / bed, more drawers and doors than I really need, and the pop top allows one to actually walk from the front part of the Van to the rear.

I do like these feature's, and it's all placed and built much better than any B type Camper in it's class.

Lookin' Back

The folding couch / gaucho / bed is on the right,as is the refrigerator and the closet. The sink, microwave, and the TV/VCR is on the counter on the left---

A Bunch of Countertop Space

And plenty of drawer's to hold "stuff"

Just Looking Down From The Upper Bunk

Looking in From the Back Door--

The closet s on the L/H side of this picture--a full length unit--and it holds a bunch of "Hang Up's"

Looking In from the Side Doors

Penthouse Up----

This pop top I like a bunch more than the Westfalia--with the upper bunk cushions slid to the rear a 6'1" guy can actually walk around inside the camper.
And here's something I just discovered today--
The canvas is 100% waterproof.
It's really a heavy canvas on the inside, with a rubber / plastic coating on the outside.
No water can leak through the canvas, and is easily washable.

Pretty Neat.

Pretty Big Upper Bunk

The cushions are really thick foam and very comfortable--no need for the space station add on foam to be comfortable.
No getting your head wedged into the corner of the pop top as in a Westfalia.
Lots of room to move around.

Super Cruiser

The injected 318 get's decent fuel economy with a 4 speed lock up overdrive Torque Flite--- depending on the wind , and how fast I'm flying down the road--much better than my VW 3 speed automatic's--and at only 1/4 the throttle--
The VW's pedal's are mashed to the floor most of the time, just to keep up with traffic.
Set the cruise, lay back the seat--crank the CD player up-- grab a cool one, and down the road I go--crusin' at 80--and it ain't even breathing heavy-- and I'm riding in the fast lane--
She's as tight as a drum--super quiet inside at speed--
And the ultra bonus is--no blowing around in any cross wind--or Semi's wake.
This class B camper tracks straight and true down the road.

"The End"

The Van didn't have a spare tire cover when I bought it--so I purchased one---I painted the cover with PPG base /Clear, and had the SMB logo made using the SMB literature as a pattern--

The paint looks 3 ft. Deep--and it sure looks neat on the back of the Van color matched---especially with the SMB logo on it---

Check out the reflection of the flag pole on the cover 30 ' behind me ---

"Petunia"

Picked this 89 Carat up in Ohio--
New engine--clean, & straight--
Needs some small stuff--but what Vanagon doesn't??

Da L/H Side

Da R/H Side

I think I'm gonna do a monochromatic look to Petunia--
Paint all the plastic stuff on the bottom the same as the top--just leave the black rub strip down the side of the plastic--
I think that will update the Van into the new Millenium--:>)

74 Westfalia Photo Album
"Clementine"

This area of my web page contains some of the picture's I took, durring the return run from Vermillion SD, to Chicago, after purchasing my 74 Westfalia---nice bus, as it has 32,000 orginal miles on it----

Out the front window

A picture taken on the roll, looking though my veiwfinder, out the windsheild of my 86 BMW 325, somewhere in southern Minnesota, on I-90, eastbound on the return trip home, from Vermillion SD, where I purchased the bus------

Riding into the sunset

Another picture of the bus on the way home----
I did allot of driving looking through the veiw finder, of my camera-----

Not a good place to sleep

Found this truck stop somewhere in South Dakota, and stopped for the night---
Not a good place to expect to get any rest especially with the trucks runnng in and out all night----and with the pop top up, it was really loud---not much sleep----

Interior of my 74 Westfalia

This is one of the nicest interiors I've ever run into clean,unmolested, even smells like new yet !! Other than the checked curtains, whch I have replaced with the correct color (Orange)

What Have I done?

This picture represent's how I felt the morning after we parked in the truck stop---what have I done to myself???

Safe At Home

Here is the crew---my buddy Pete, who made a mistake and wanted to go on a roadtrip with me----I couldn't get him out of the Bus !!!
And with the beard, he fit right in, looking the part of an old hippy !!!

My " Ultimate Driving Machine"

Here are a few pictures of "Eva", my 86 BMW 325, what a sweet automobile she is.

Eva's Tail End--

I added the 15" Borbet wheels, and Dunlop Sport 5000 Z rated tires, K&N performance air filter, performance computer chip, & trick suspension upgrades.
She handles like she was on RR tracks, and flies.

Pretty Sexy Ride

When I need to get somewhere fast, Eva does it without complaining and in style.
She is one of my all time favorite automobiles.
A definate pleasureable driving experience.

" Freida"

I really have brain damage---

How many Van / Camper's does one guy need ?

I guess as many as you can get.

It has a few issue's but nothing too big, drive's nice, ride's nice, looks good---I'm happy----She's happy.--: )

The End

I like looking at Butt's----and she most certainly has a fine one------:>)

Awfully straight Westfalia

I took these picture's along the Fox River, in Dundee ILL., on the way to an "Emporium of Lower Learning", to get involved in some accute elbow exersizing, and some possible dart competition----

Com'on in-----

The interior is super straight----it just needed a super detailing and scrubbing to be this nice--the light grey interior is going to play hell with me to keep clean--I can see it coming---

She's fun to drive, and looks good--

Freida with her new chin spolier--

I like the look of the later model Vans with the spoiler below the bumper--ripped one off a junker and added it to her front end--

The Master of Disaster --holding up His 85 GL Vanagon

Karl Wotz took this picture several years ago out in the parking lot of Menard's.

He needed a tarp to move his buddy outa Chicagoland to AZ---

He took this picture for who know's why--but it is a good representation of the Wizard of ID---hisself--:>

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THIS AREA COVER'S SOME OF MY TOYS, BE IT BIKES, BOATS, TRACTOR'S OR YOUNG LADIES, THE LIST IS LONG---
AND IT WILL BE CHANGED,AND ADDED TO,
ON A REGULAR BASIS, AND YOU MAY FIND IT A BIT BIZARRE, AND IRREGULAR, BUT SUCH IS MY LIFE-----:>)
Young Barbara--
Well endowed, spontanious, just an over all Yummy sweetheart ---one of my all time favorites--
My 72 Trumph X-75 Hurricane
Had two of these bikes--- there were only 1200 of them ever built---bought them brand new--
Sold them both when I was living in Florida for some cash---
Sad day---
The Latest Ride
Traded off my 86 "Leadwing" SEI for this 96 BMW K-75
The Goldwing was a dependable, good long haul scooter--but I got tired of being Jack La Laine around town--it weighed 1000 lbs. dry--the Beemer weighs in at 386---
And it handle's like it's on RR tracks--
While I miss some of the ammenities of the Wing--this ride makes up for that loss in comfort , and manuverablity--
It has removable hard saddle bags, with factory luggage, tank bag, and a removable Givi touring box, that fits onto the rear luggage rack, with some more soft luggage in it--
I Just picked up some factory crash bars--which I am going to mount a set of Cibie road lamps down low to the ground--
I like being able to be seen and see at on the back roads at night.
One of my Favorite Boats
Bought this 28 foot S-2 Yacht new in 88----"Captain Morgan II "
Loved the hell out of it, had many a good time in it, plenty of zooking, and over embibement for 7 years---- The boat and I were "Extra's" in the movie "Rookie of the Year"-- don't blink--the Captain and I appear for about 3 nanno seconds flashing across the screen in the lake sceens-- ( this whole thing took a week and paid all the boats and captains $2500.00 for nothing ) I just got tired of being married to it, so I turned her loose in 95------- it was time for a divorce----- ~ : (
Maybe next year--a new 38 ft. Ray, or S-2 Yacht--
