| On December 5th 1999 after completing a shakedown cruise at IG Lievy park north Pascagoula MS. the USS Barbey joins the miniture fleet. |

Sence there was no avalable model of the sea sprite in this scale. One had to be manufacture. Using a 72 scale model to go by and an x-acto knife, it was carved out of green Oasis styrofoam used by flourst. Once the shaping was done ,then 3 coats of elmers glue was applied to protect the styrofoam from the spray paint. After the paint dried then small detail parts from the 72 scale model were added. |
