A pictotial site documenting the memorial services for Howard L.Krippner, Captain (Ser.#0-42656) 14th Air Force, 76th Fighter Squadron,23 Fighter Group who was shot down on August 27th,1943 near Yueyang City, Hunan Province, China.The crash site was located by information provided Major Robert Costello, Capt. Krippner's flight leader on the day he was shot down and the tireless effort of Patrick Lucas and his team that have dedicated themselves to finding the lost crash sites and bring closure to some events that happened over sixty years ago. Their motto is "REMBERING SHARED HONORS". My thanks also to Virginia "Ginni" Krippner for sharing the photos you see on this site.

This is a photo of the hillside where the memorial was held. The main explosion when the plane hit was on a hill above this site. The site is marked in this photo by the raised dirt mound,wreaths and silver smoke rising. All very symbolic of a perfect ending to this servive.
