Curtis Inabinett, Member, Charleston, County Council District 8

I was born in Colleton County South Carolina and attended elementary and high school there. I graduated from South Carolina State University with a BS in Agriculture. I have a Masters Degree in Agriculture and Guldance. I also did further study at Clemson University and the Citadel.

I am a retired Middle School Administrator, former member of the Charleston County Election Commission, former member of Council and Mayor of the town of Ravenel, and former member of the South Carolina General Assembly. I am presently serving as Vice - Chairman of the Sea-Island Comprehensive Health Care Corporation Board of Directors,Treasure of the Federation of Southern Cooperative Land Assistance Fund Board of Directors, Member of The Board of Advisors of the Center for Rural Cooperative Business Development at SC State University, and President of the SC Association of Farmers & Landowners ( A 501 C3 Organization ).
I served two years in the U.S. Army and six years in the Army Reserves.

I am a member of The First Assembly of God Church where I serve as a Greeter, Usher, and Member of The Missions Board. I'm married to Ethel Joy Inabinett, a retired Insurance Representative and Treasurer of the Charleston County Democratic Womens Group. We have one son Curtis Inabinett Jr. who is an Independent Echocardiographer and owner of Cardiac Imaging & Sound Mobile Cardiac Ultrasound Service, Member of Council for the Town of Ravenel, and Jazz Saxophonist.

Recipient of the "Order of the Palmetto" which was created in1971 by Governor John West which honors extraordinary lifetime achievements and service to the state of South Carlina ad the nation.
Life Member of the South Carolina and National Education Associations, Life Member of the NAACP and Life Member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

THE ISSUES

I want to use my experience and proven leadership to help address and solve issues that are the responsibilities of members of Charleston Couny Council.

I will work with Council Members and others in a positive way to address tax issues, the economy, our environment, our educational system, social needs, health care, zoning, crime, and transportaton concerns in Charleston county.
