Judge yourselƒ! When I was traveling thru Angelfire, New Mexico in 1999, an old Navaho Indian came up to me at a gas station and asked, " Are you John Kay the guitarist, who had all those hits years ago?" I tried to get out of it for a mili-second or so and then told him the truth ---- The real band was elsehere at this very moment, playing to large crowds in and around the USA and the world.

Nice try! I appreciate the compliment from the Navaho, it made my trip!


You may wonder..... who's the guy with the moniker: A. O'Day , that appears as songwriter on some Steppenwolf tunes. He wrote Annie, Annie , Over (The hour of the Wolf), Train of thought (Skullduggery), Replace the Face (Feed the Fire), for just a few to start your curiousity going. The Wolƒ-ƒest 2002 was an immense success. Thanks to Earl from Alaska , Butch , Kitty,and Bill from Buƒƒalo, Sue K. from Montana, Jeƒƒ Good from Kansas, Maxwell House Motel, Eckart Drugs, Nashville Motorcycle Patrol, (who didn't arrest us) Nashville Park Dept. , and all the other Wolfpackers who attended the fest.
