Assembling The Hardware

Well has your wife figured out yet that you're trying to do this little project on her kitchen table?? Hee Hee. Well, if not on to assembling the hardware.

Cover facing of stablizer foot with carpet tape and add carpet strip. Add a carpet tack at the leading edge so banjo will not come in contact with it then add carpet tack on bottom .

Mark a center line on stablizer foot and bracket and align the two pieces.Add hinge and mark holes. Drill small pilot holes using a 1/16 inch bit and add screws.

With the magnet plate against leg, mark and drill small pilot hole with a 1/16 inch bit and install screw. Make sure you use the screw with the countersunk head so it will be flush with the surface.

With the magnet sandwiched between the two plates connect to side of foot with screw so it comes in contact with the bottom plate.

With the padded foot facing the front of the stand mark the center of main frame and align the parts.
Drill pilot holes in the center of oblong holes using a 1/8 inch bit and add screws and washers.

Adding The Legs

With hinge in 90 degree position measure 1 -1/2 inches from edge of frame and mark screw holes.
Drill small pilot holes using a 1/16 inch bit and install screws.

Position leg , drill pilot holes and install screws.

YEEEE HAAAWWW! DONE

Place banjo in stand and check for fit. If banjo leans forward adjust the foot so banjo is straight or slight back slant if you prefer.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope this has been a fun
and useful project for you. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this stand feel free to give me a holler.
