One section is kept very clean and is surrounded by a near-new chain link fence. The other sections are badly overgrown with trees, brush and brier bushes. It is difficult to locate and view these. I will do this in two parts. Part one will be the clean section inside the chain link fence and part two will be the grave sites in the badly overgrown sections. I want to thank JUANITA WHITE and her brother, TOM THOMPSON, for their hard work in cataloguing this cemetery with me. Many mean brier bushes did little to deter their enthusiasm. They came in search of the grave site of SAMUEL E. TACKETT and struck gold amid those brier bushes. I AM TOLD THIS FIRST SECTION IS ALSO KNOWN AS THE "GULLION-GODBEY SECTION OR CEMETERY". |
