This pastel was done of my wife reading in bed late at night on an afghan that was made by my mother .

This is a quick watercolor done of the internationally known great master drummer Mamady Keita.

This painting just received a purchase award at the 2001 Annual Exhibition of the Pastel Society of America, at the National Arts Club, NYC.

He used to deliver groceries to my home, he is an avid art lover and collector, as well as a real street-wise character.

We had an attic apartment with no air conditioning. After work, my wife would often come home and lay out on the bed with portable fans blowing on her. I just had to paint the scene.

I love capturing other artists at work in their studios. This is a painting of a young pastelist diligently at work .
"ARTEMIS(DIANA)" oil on canvas 40"x30"
One of my other passions is traditional arch-
ery. This painting represents the classical Goddess Artemis(the Goddess of the hunt and a reknowned archer). It was also a wonderful opportunity to paint the effects of scattered sunlight on human flesh when in the forest.
