JANMASTAMI 2003
With out the divine blessings,
of a Servant of Krishna,God,
like AC Bhaktivedanta Swami,
Shrila Prabhupada.
One can not write on topics,
beyond the material imperfect senses,
like the Appearance day of Lord Krishna,
and so I pray for Prabhupada's blessings.
I offer my respectful obeisances,
unto Prabhupada's Lotus Feet,
who came to the west from the east,
to teach,how to chant,dance and feast.
He came to revive what's inside all hearts,
Our Supreme Love Who never departs,
Prabhupada alone knew the perfect arts,
to train us to pull Lord Jagannatha's carts.
Everyone of us here are helplessly forced,
to take repeated births and deaths,
because of ignorance of our Lord,
of Whom we do forget.
But when Lord Krishna takes His Birth,
it is by His Own Sweet Will,
so us fallen souls may remember Him,
and His real nature is revealed.
Because all we can do is speculate,
on what we believe God must be,
God or Krishna came here Himself to manifest,
His Divine Pastimes for all to see.
And if our most beloved Prabhupada,
never translated the Vedas as they are,
we would never know of Krishna's pastimes,
to remove our illusions,near and far.
But with out full humility and submission,
to the Holy Books Prabhupada wrote,
in the field or realising life's mission,
we would only hopelessly grope.
It's only Krishna's Pure Servants,
Who reveal the Lord in Truth,
His Form of unlimited Beauty,
as an Eternal Transcendental Youth.
For Krishna's Servant is fully obedient,
not living for his own convenience,
He only lives to please Lord Krishna,
because that is life's only mission.
Krishna's Servants set the perfect example,
absorbed in only bliss and living simple,
to wake us to eternal Servants of Krishna, knowing the world is Krishna's Temple.
Krishna's Servants reveal Lord Krishna,
to those attached to serving them,
and deliver those souls to Krishna's Abode beyond all misery and sin.
We should hear of Krishna's Birth,
only from Krishna's Servants,
for His Servants in quality,one with Him,
are not deluded by maya's curtain.
And when her deluding curtain is lifted,
we become most greatly gifted,
to know Krishna's pastimes are divine,
beyond all matter and time.
For one who understands just a little,
of My Pastimes,Krishna does declare,
will not take birth in this sad place again,
and return to My Abode beyond compare.
Lord Krishna descended from His Abode,
to this planet earth,5000 years ago,
He played as a Boy,the reservoir of joy,
yet few did know,His Supreme control.
He played as a Youth,
singing songs on heart melting Flutes,
and in ever flowing waves of Beauty,
Lord Krishna always did move.
As a boy He stole yogurt and butter,
and ran in fear from His Mother,
all the time bestowing supreme bliss,
to Vrindavana's residence.
As a boy again he lifted Govardhana hill,
to protect all Vrindavana from Indra's chill,
The king of heaven was chastised by this boy's Will,
and to that boy's Feet, Indra had to kneel.
How could a boy of only seven,
defeat the King of heaven,
and when he was just a tiny babe,
he pushed down a hurricane.
Few could understand,
with the little finger of His right hand,
God or Krishna lifted Govardhana Hill,
to protect a whole land.
But Krishna's Servants take greatest pleaure,
in meditating on Him for ever,
and His Transcendental pastimes,
which only get better and better.
But only with a heart that is pure,
may we know of Krishna's mysteries for sure,
and only through Krishna's Servitor,
is Krishna known as God and Cowherder.
Krishna's Pastimes fill His Servant's thoughts, along with His Pure Servant's plots,
to deliver us,fallen in illusion,
Krishna's Servants are the only solution.
Thus this anubhavananda das,
fallen lost and double crossed,
prays Prabhupada's mercy passed your way, revealing the glories of Krishna's Appearance day.
Krishna's Names and pastimes are the same,
when He comes or goes away,
so just chant My Names,Krishna proclaims,
to return eternally Home again.
