2002 ISU Grand Prix Series

Skate America
The Grand Prix Series opened with Skate America. Two triple axels were landed by ISU ladies.Yukari Nakano of Japan and Ludmila Nelidina of Russia both landed triple axels. The USFSA skaters won four medals. Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto won the bronze medal in ice dancing.Matt Savoie won the bronze medal in men's.Michelle Kwan won the gold medal in ladies and Ann Patrice McDonough won the ladies' silver medal.
Skate Canada
It was Sasha Cohen's turn to shine at Skate Canada.Cohen handed in a wonderful short program and a fine freeskate to claim the ladies' gold medal. Fumie Suguri,of Japan, won the ladies' silver medal and matched this feat by winning the silver medal a week later at Nations Cup.Yoshie Onda,also of Japan,won the Nations Cup gold medal and followed this up with a big silver medal at Lalique.
Sasha Cohen won her 2nd Grand Prix title and Michael Weiss won his first Grand Prix title at the Lalique event in Paris.Tanith Belbin & Ben Agosto won their 2nd GP bronze medal at this event.Yulia Obertas and Alexei Sokolov of the Russian Figure Skating Federation turned in two mesmerizing programmes enroute to a 2002 Lalique silver medal.
Cup of Russia
Sasha Cohen won her third Grand Prix medal of the season at Cup Of Russia,the ladies' silver medal.Russia's Viktoria Volchkova won gold and Irina Slutskaya of Russia won bronze.Evgeny Plushenko of Russia won the men's title in this event.

Junior Grand Prix

The 2002/2003 ISU Junior Grand Prix season has begun! Evan Lysacek and Jordan Brauninger of the USFSA won silver and bronze in Junior Men's event at JGP-France. Alissa Czisny won the Junior Ladies' silver medal in this event. Look for full results on the USFSA results page......link listed on this page.
JGP-Yugoslavia
The USFSA skaters scored three more medals in Yugoslavia. Adriana DeSanctis won the Ladies' silver medal.Amy Howerton & Steven Pottenger won the pairs bronze medal.Mr.Wesley Campbell of the Nashville FSC won the men's silver medal.
JGP-USA
The USFSA skaters won six more Junior Grand Prix medals in Arizona at JGP-USA. Jennifer Don and Jonathon Hunt won the pairs silver medal,with Brittany Vise & Nicholas Cole winning the pairs bronze medal.Loren Galler-Rabinowitz & David Mitchell won the ice dancing bronze medal.Parker Pennington won the men's silver medal. In Ladies,Beatrisa Liang won the silver medal and Felicia Beck won the bronze medal. Danielle Kahle,also of the USA made a tremendous comeback to finish 4th overall.
JGP-Canada
USFSA skaters continued their success in Montreal,Canada.Evan Lysacek won the silver medal in the men's event.Morgan Matthews & Maxim Zavozin won the bronze medal in ice dancing.Tiffany & Johnny Stiegler won the silver medal in pairs. Louann Donovan won the silver medal in ladies. Yebin Mok finished 4th overall in ladies. Miki Ando of Japan won this JGP ladies' event with an amazing freeskate program.Ando landed 7 triple jumps,including a triple lutz/triple loop combination jump.
JGP-Slovakia
Congratulations to Lina Johanson of Finland! Lina won the ladies' gold medal in this event. The USFSA skaters picked up three more Junior Grand Prix medals in Slovakia.Tiffany Vise and Laureano Ibarra won the pairs bronze medal.Alissa Czisny won the ladies' silver medal and Natalie Mecher won the ladies' bronze medal.
JGP-Germany
Congratulations to Jenna McCorkell of Great Britain ! Jenna won the ladies' bronze medal at the Junior Grand Prix events in Germany. The USFSA skaters won 3 more medals in Germany.Nick LaRoche won the men's bronze medal.Adriana DeSanctis made a strong comeback in the freeskates to win the ladies silver medal. Tiffany and Johnny Stiegler won the pairs bronze medal.
JGP-China
Congratulations to Miki Ando of Japan ! Ando won her 2nd JGP gold medal in China. The USFSA skaters won 4 more medals in China. Tiffany Vise & Laureano Ibarra won the pairs silver medal. Loren Galler-Rabinowitz & David Mitchell won the ice dancing bronze medal.Beatrisa Liang won the ladies silver medal and Yebin Mok won the ladies bronze medal.
JGP-Italy
The last of the 8 Junior Grand Prix events concluded in Milan,Italy. Parker Pennington won the men's silver medal.Jennifer Don and Jonathon Hunt won the pairs silver medal. Congratulations to all the JGP medalists! Finals will be in December.
