The Junell Street Band is one of the hottest Blues-Rock acts in the Central Kentucky area. With a style influenced by artists as diverse as Creedence Clearwater Revival, B. B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and The Rolling Stones, They offer a unique combination of Blues, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, and R&B.
Fronted by the duo 2x12 (guitarist/vocalist Gary Fights and lead vocalist guitarist Kim Swickard), and featuring bassist Sonny Waddell, drummer Bob Oberg, and background vocalist Karen Jaggers the band has created their unique sound. Solid Blues/Rock rhythms with an R&B influence, highlighted by tight vocals including three and four part harmonies.
For their first year together the band continued using the name 2x12. However, as the band's sound has evolved and because Gary and Kim still perform as an acoustic duo, they decided they needed they should rename the band to avoid the confusion of having both acts share one name. They as a group came up with the name, The Junell Street Band (or Junell Street if you choose). Taken from their home base, Fights' home/studio on Junell Street in Elizabethtown KY where it all came together.
They are currently playing in the Central KY area, and are unsigned.
