This page is dedicated to my very special aunt, Aunt Stachie (who loves butterflies as much as I do)

And to Shaina, my granddaughter who said when she was three years old, "Mammaw, I just luvs dem purty butterwhys!"

The poem below was sent to me by a friend, and I thought it was so lovely it should be shared. Thanks Viv!

BUTTERFLIES--

They flutter through the flowers, then soar high into the sky.

Their gracefulness and beauty will most surely catch your eye.

As you look out of your window, or walk into your yard,

Take time to pause a moment to look quickly and look hard.

You see them for a moment and then they're out of sight.

They have many, many stops to make before they end their flight.

There's treasure to behold, this sight that you may see.

Let your mind record their beauty, and there forever it will be.

My Butterfly Poem

I'd like to follow the butterflies
As they go merrily on their way.
Searching out God's beauty here on earth,
And sipping sweet flower nectar every day.

Some yearn to soar like an eagle,
But that's not really my thing.
I'd rather be a beautiful butterfly,
Fluttering about on gossamer wings.

And when my brief life is over,
When my final work here is done.
I'll join hundreds of pretty butterflies
Weaving and hovering 'round God's Throne.
