2011World Deaf Bowling Championships
By Robert Ellison
20 June 2011
This will be the second World Deaf Bowling Championship held and the first for Team USA to bowl in this event.
Our head coach will be Walter Niesluchowski. This will be Walters first time coaching Team USA. We will have 6 men bowling in this event: Johnny McLean (Indiana); Kris Buford (Ohio); Ron Rood, Jr (NY); Ron Zuchegno, Jr (NY); Randy Perry (WA) and Robert Ellison (CA).
This will be the first time all of the Team USA will bowl in World Deaf Bowling Championship.
Robert Ellison bowled in two Deaflympics (Melbourne and Taipei); Ron Zuchnego and Randy has bowled in one Deaflympics (Taipei). The team was selected by resumes submitted to Ed Abakumoff and all 6 bowlers carry 200 plus averages.
There were no resumes submitted for women; thus there will not be a women team bowling in this event.
This event will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from August 23rd to September 3rd.
The WDGB will have 6 championship events: singles (6 games); doubles (6 games); trios (6 games); and team event (five players
- 6 games); and Masters (singles/doubles/trios/and team combined).
The masters will take the top 16 players/bowlers and will play head to head matches and 30 pins bonus for each match won.
There will be 28 Countries from 4 International Committee of Sports for the Deaf regions, which will carry 257 Bowlers (151 Mens and 106 Womens).
This event brings together all of the bowlers from around the world in order compete with one another in one place.
Juanjo Lemmo, organizing committee 2011 World Deaf Bowling Championships director states: "We hope that together, let us make this tournament an unforgettable moment, where the heart prevail over reason ... where the friendship exceed the rivalry ... where there are no winners or losers ... where the only win is simply to be able to participate ... And especially, where all of you are welcome!"

Team USA bowlers pay for their own way to the WDBC. We do not have any support from organizations/sports associations. I would appreciate any support/sponsor for World Deaf Bowling Championship. I am honored to represent the USA
