THIS IS THE RICKS' FAMILY..NAVY PHOTOGRAPH

This family photograph was taken in 1969. We had just left Yokosuka, Japan and arrived in Long Beach California where I reported to USS ARNOLD J ISBELL (DD 869) which was my last sea duty in the good old "Black Shoe Navy". These five children have given us fourteen grand children and two great grand children. The Lord said "Trust in me and live by my word and I will fill your quiver full", The wife and I surely know He has Blessed this Family Very Well!.... May God Bless You and Your Family Too!!

OUR TWO GREAT GRANDAUGHTERS ALEX AND KYLEE...CHRISTMAS 2008

We don't get to see these girls enough, they are Precious "Love Bugs". But we do see them often, they go to Sunday School at our Church. They were both in the Childrens Play about Easter and the oldest had a singing part also. Oh Yes, We are Proud of them.

OUR GRANDSON MAKES THE GRADE!!

Hi All, This is the Greatest time of my life, having lived long enough to see a Grandson follow in my footsteps! His Grandmother and Mother were there in Cape May New Jersey to witness this young man's graduation from The US Coast Guard Boot Camp!! Not an easy chore for a young man, but He Did It!!  We are all Very Proud of Him, believe me!! His Dad passed away a short time ago, and did not live to see this moment in his life, but I know the Good Lord allowed him to watch it all from above!! I Pray He Will Have Fair Winds and Following Seas!! He surely will make us all Proud of Him! I dug out my "Navy Blues" and put them on after 30 years to take a photo of the two us! Now you can see a real "Old Goat and a Young Sailor" !!

We Are So Happy That You Stopped By To Visit!!!

DESCRIPTION OF A MILITARY WIFE

The good Lord was creating a model for military wives and was into His sixth day of overtime when an angel appeared.  "Lord, You seem to be having a lot of trouble with this one," he said.  "What's wrong with the standard model?"
The Lord replied, "Have you seen the specs on this order?  She has to be completely independent, possess the qualities of both father and mother, be a perfect hostess to four or forty with an hours notice, run on black coffee, handle every emergency imaginable without a manual, be able to carry on cheerfully, even if she is pregnant and has the flu, and she must be willing to move to a new location ten times in seventeen years.  Oh yes, she must have six pairs of hands."
The angel shook his head.  "Six pairs of hands?  No way."
"Don't worry," the Lord continued, "We will make other military wives to help her.  And we will give her an unusually strong heart so it can swell with pride in her husband's achievements, sustain the pain of separations, beat soundly when it is overworked and tired, be large enough to say 'I understand,' when she doesn't, and say 'I love you,' regardless."
"Lord," said the angel, touching His arm gently, "Go to bed and get some rest.  You can finish this tomorrow."
"I can't stop now," said the Lord.  "I am so close to creating something unique.  Already this model heals herself when she is sick, can put up six unexpected guests for the weekend, wave goodby to her husband from a pier, a runway, or a depot, and understand why it's important that he leave."
The angel circled the model of the military wife, looked at it closely and sighed, "It looks fine, but it's too soft."
"She might look soft," said the Lord, "But she has the strength of a lion.  You would not believe what she can endure."
Finally the angel bent over and run his finger across the cheek of the Lord's creation.  "There's a leak!"  he announced.  "Something's wrong with the construction.  I am not surprised that it has cracked.  You are trying to put too much into this model."
The Lord appeared offended at the angel's lack of confidence.  "What you see is not a leak," He said.  "It's a tear."
"A tear?  What is it there for?"  asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "It's for joy, sadness, pain, disappointment, loneliness, pride and a dedication to all the values she and her husband hold dear."
"You are a genius!"  exclaimed the angel.
The Lord looked puzzled and replied, "I didn't put it there."
