MY FRIEND'S SPECIAL PLACE

Once upon a time... my friend and I were playing and hanging out together. We did all the things we liked to do, and though it was lots of fun, and very comfortable, my friend could tell that I was ready for something new... a great new adventure.

He asked me if I wanted to go to some place new, to a magical place he knew of where there were many new things to see and do. A place where I would have lots of adventures to make it exciting, and plenty of new people to meet and get to know. My friend warned me that it was not always a friendly place, but he knew how to get there, and was sure that I would enjoy it and return feeling glad that I had visited.

I thought about his offer, and wondered where this new place could be. My friend told me that there were so many new things to experience in his secret place that I would surely return smarter and stronger than I would be if I didn't go.

I was excited, and nervous at the same time... but I eventually gave in, and asked my friend to show me this new place of his. He said he would take me there, but that he would have to stay behind. I wasn't crazy about that part of it, but I trusted my friend, and knew he would never take me somewhere that I wouldn't be able to handle. He made me promise that when I was done playing and exploring, I would have to come and tell him all about it, and let him know of all the things I had seen, done and learned during my visit.

I agreed, and then my friend took me to this new place. Before leaving, I told my friend good bye, and that I would miss him. And then my friend said, "I'll miss you too.... but I will always be with you in your heart. Have fun, and learn all you can. I'll be here waiting for you when you return."

The special and magical place was everything my friend said it would be... and though it's not always easy, or as comfortable as the old familiar places my friend and I were used to playing at, there are things that help me to learn important lessons, and challenges to help me become stronger than I would have been had I decided not to come. I know my visit's only for a short time.... so I want to do and see everything I can before I have to leave.

I really do like this new place, but I still can't help from missing my home, and can hardly wait until I go back home to tell about all of my great adventures on Earth to my best friend... God.

Aren't friends great? I hope you like your visit, too.

THE END

(...or, maybe just the Begining.)
