dale County, MS, as well as 1X60 & 1870 census records of Neshoba co.
MS; shown as aCe 63, and occupation as "Farmer" in 1860 census.
Married Millie Quimby, daughter of James Quimby, 7-7-1840 in Sumter Co. AL. Millie Quimby was born around 1825 according to 1860 & 1870
census records of Neshoba co, MS; she was listed as age 37, and occupation "Housekeeper" in the 1860 census. It appears, from the ages of the children and their birthplaces as listed in the 1860 census, that Elijah Elihu Smith and Millie Quimby arrived in Mississippi between 1849 and 1851. Millie Quimby died ( ? ) Eleven (11) children were born to Elijah Elihu Smith & Millie Quimby.

Alabama(probably Sumter Co.), and listed in 1860 census as age 19, and occupation "Asst. Housekeeper". Married Elijah Jonathan Collins after the death of his first wife, Penelope Ann McClendon. NOTE: Elijah Jonathan Collins and Penelope Ann McClendon were the parents of Penelope Ann Collins, who married Margaret Smith's brother, John C. Smith. The Collins family records have been researched back to Colonial days and a copy of this book is in the possession of Shelbie Jean Smith-Pic-kering.

Monarca Wlnnefred Colllns was the sister of PeneloDe Ann Colllns, who married John C. Smith, brother of Jonas Bynum Smith .

Born in Mississippi; age 11 in 1860 census; married Penelone Anr Collins, b.-(12-17-1843) in MS, daughter of Elijah Jonathan Collins & Penelope Ann McClendon. John C. Smith reportedly died of injuries recieved in a farm/logging accident and was buried in a Dasture in Neshoba Co., MS; no headstone has been found at the reported location of burial.
