CULTURE OF CONTACT: A New Phase of Close Encounter Exploration Outreach from NYC

2007, the 60th anniversary year of the Modern UFO Era and the 50th anniversary year of the Space Age, marked the founding in New York City of "CULTURE OF CONTACT," a network of close encounter witnesses, explorers and educators.

The new endeavour, with the support of "UFO Magazine." held its first annual and highly successful "UFOs: The Culture of Contact MultiMedia Festival (1947-2007)" at three venues on June 22, 23 and 24 in NYC's East Village. It coincided with the 60th anniversary of the June 24, 1947 of the pilot Kenneth Arnold UFO sighting in Washington State. The festival's conference, movie showings, art exhibit and music show generated positive media exposure and coverage and attracted the general public's interest.

Its second festival was held in mid-October 2008 at the Landmark Jersey Loew's in Jersey City, NJ featuring movies and speakers, along with a month-long "Mythology Is Reality" UFO Art Show at the Monroe Art Center in Hoboken (Oct. 10-Nov. 15). Culture of Contact holds perodic public events between festivals. There are also weekly Culture of Contact podcasts.
