CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE MAKE CONTACT KIND... ... ...

CONTACT OF THE 5TH KIND IN THE HUDSON VALLEY!!!

***This road in the Hudson Valley Village of Brewster, NY is the extraordinary site of numerous explorations, UFO and entity sightings, and proactive encounters which has given us many challenges....

SKYWATCHES: EMPOWERING ENCOUNTER EXPLORERS

Field work is an essential part of SPACE's work, a proactive aspect of exploring our encounters by going to areas known for UFO activity. Our prime site in Brewster, NY, 100 miles of New York City in Putnam County, is where we were originally led by intuition, perhaps by guidance.

Close Encounters of the Make Contact Kind, also called "of the Fifth Kind," is a revolutionary way of seeking a "middle ground" with the mysterians who interface with us, trying to achieve some role of our own on an interactive basis.

Part scientific research, part intuitive interplay, part adventure, part a night out in nature under the stars, with a meal at Bob's Diner as part of the night, our skywatches, mostly in the Hudson Valley, have been a source of empowerment for direct encounter explorers and a test of our will , patience and determination.

What you will learn here is mostly NEW information shared with a worldwide audience for the first time in this new 21st Century via the Internet, after a decade of intense experiences and intensive research in the Hudson Valley.

It adds to the excellent separate work, independent of S.P.A.C.E., that of Philip Imbrogno and Marianne Horrigan, who published their findings in "Contact of the 5th Kind," published in 1997, as a follow-up to the best-seller "Night Seige: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings" (authored by Imbrogno, Dr. J. Allen Hynek and Bo Pratt) ten years before when thousands of witnesses saw numerous UFOs.

The observations made in the sky by the SPACE Away Teams remind us of the fascinating scientific observations of Harley Rutledge, Ph.D., a physicist at S.E. Missouri State University and author of an essential book for ufologists, "PROJECT IDENTIFICATION: The First Scientific Field Study of UFO Phenomenon," published in 1981.

The book documented his multi-witnessed sightings in the field, with apparent interaction with the lighted objects either during, before or after the observation, from 1973 to 1980. His advantage was that he had an array of instrumentation to document and triangulate his observations. SPACE Away Teams have to rely on their apparent personal connection to that which interacts with them and their own powers of coordinated observation.

Our experiences take place in the general region of the Hudson Valley where, to the west over the Hudson River, Whitley Strieber had many of his visitations around and in his cabin, and where researchers had encounters in Pine Bush, the other "UFO hot spot" in the Hudson Region.

You will be reading here of activities to the east of the Hudson River by S.P.A.C.E. Away Teams (the term is from "Star Trek") that you may be completely unaware of until now, having escaped the attention of Ufology.

We have had many, many interactions with mysterious forces, nocturnal lights, unknown entities, cryptic messages and inexplicable occurances in this haunted region.....

CONTACT ON MIDDLE GROUNDS

The episodes here are given as highlighted breakthrough encounters. Besides these there are scores of others that SPACE Mission Teams have been engaged in, as observers and participants. Here are our reports.

PROACTIVE EXPLORATIONS: S.P.A.C.E.'s OUTREACH PROGRAM TO THE UFOs

S.P.A.C.E.'s field work and skywatches have their origins in good old natural curiosity, through which we learn, discover and take risks, hopefully to advance our understanding of life. When Harold Walter Egeln, then the executve director of a large nonprofit peace organzation, began exploring his own experiences with Jean Mundy through hypnosis and relaxed conversation sessions, he wanted to see, with his own eyes, if this was "real."

So, when he started his research in 1988, he was drawn, through a chain of synchronistic events, to journey with a friend to the Hudson Valley, source of Sleepy Hollow legends and the great UFO flap of he 1980's, investigated by researcher Imbrogno with astronomer Hynek, authors of "Night Seige: The Hudson Valley UFO Sightings."

From an experience there by the Croton Falls Reservior after midnight on Sunday, August 14, 1988, shortly after his first hypnosis session with Mundy, and a subsequent experience with other people at the same site in Brewster, Putnam County, on May 27, 1991, S.P.A.C.E., at its formation in March 1992, has made field work at that and other Hudson Valley sites a prime proactive feature of its research.

This has been called by others "Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind," which are attempts to engage nonhumans on a "middle ground," as advocated by researcher Keith Thompson in his book "Angels & Aliens" and by C-SETI teams, led by Dr. Steven Greer.

Many dozens of S.P.A.C.E. "Away Teams" have viewed unusual nocturnal lights, some of which seem to respond to our presence; encountered elusive shadowy and wispy forms; experienced feelings of energies and unusually powerful floral scents; and have witnessed other intriguing and fascinating phenomenon in and around Brewster throughout the 1990's in scores of frequent field trips.

We can speculate endlessly what this sometime remarkable and othertimes frustrating "making contact" may mean, as it does not deal with "spaceships landing" but an apparent deeper and far more intellectually challenging level of contact for those who chose to become encounter explorers.

Here we in S.P.A.C.E., for the first time to the greater worldwide public, share some of these breakthrough experiences.

FIRST OPEN CONTACT - AUGUST 1988: THE UPPER MAGNETIC MINE ROAD ENTITY SIGHTING

Harold Egeln was drawn to the Hudson Valley following his first hypnotic seesion in July 1988. While the hypnosis was a valuable emotional release and trigger for more study, it lacked satisfying confirmation. Drawn by the accounts of the Hudson Valley UFO sightings, he and a friend each recieved, separately, impressions of a date of August 11th that might be opprotune for visiting the area.

After making arrangements to stay overnight on August 12th and 13th at a house in Westchester County, they set out to Putnam County on Friday night (Aug. 12), with Harold drawn to a lonely road south of Croton Falls Reservoir called Lower Magnetic Mine Road. As a shaky Egeln became frightened and uncomfortable, they returned to the house.

The next night (late Saturday, August 13) they returned to the same area, to Upper Magnetic Mine Road, marked on maps as Reservior Road. After midnight (now August 14) Harold's friend did a meditation, while Harold drifted away from her. Looking towards the reservoir, he noticed what looked like large and glowing slanted green eyes on large, hairless heads, floating through the woods in a single file many yards out (perhaps 40 feet). There were five entities, all looking at Harold. He could not see their bodies, only their heads and upper torsos. Calling out to his friend, she saw them too and they stopped moving.

Harold aimed his large flashlight, at which moment the immediate scenery changed, with branches in front of them that were not there a split moment before. A barking black dog on the road was getting closer to them, so they ran into their rented car. They rested there for over an hour, seeing only a "parade" of raccoons with reflective eyes walking in single file at the edge of the road across from them, looking at their car.

Two months later, in October 1988, at a UFO conference in Manhattan, they approached Phil Imbrogno, relating their experience and showing him the map where it occurred. Imbrogno, surprised and flinching, asked them if they knew that the road was a UFO hotspot, where a year earlier communters driving home from the MetroNorth railroad station had a close encounter and, in another incident, a man may have been abducted there. They did not know about all that.

They also learned that LIFE magazine publisher Henry Luce back in 1966 sent a team of Kodak photographers to the reservoir to take photos of UFOs known to be seen in that area, in preparation for a LIFE special issue on UFOS, which was never published after LOOK magazine did its issue first.

In 1989 they learned that there was an old stone chamber just off Upper Magnetic Mine in Brewster, one of about 125 documented by Imbrogo, that seem to be where UFOs tend to be seen. The chambers, some believe, date back to pre-Colonial times, while others think that the chambers are Colonial roots cellars to entrances to magnetic ore mines in the area, which were shutdown in the 1890's.

This real-time experience, just after midnight on August 14, 1988, intriqued and drove Egeln, knowing that the mysterious entities are real, seeing them with his own eyes and with a witness. The entities, confirming Egeln's impressions about "making contact," came there in this experimental interactive close encounter. There were no trips aboard a flying saucer, but a journey into a deep and elusive enigma had begun.

THE SECOND OPEN CONTACT - MAY 26-27, 1991: RETURN TO MAGNETIC ROAD

At least two more trips were made to the Hudson Valley in 1990, one in Brewster where the car headligths started blinking near a telephone pole with the numbers 11-11 on it, and to Route 116 by the Titicus Reservior, where a loud pulsing sound was heard to fade in, fade away and fade in again, scaring them.

By 1991 Egeln had met more people through referrals from Dr. Jean Mundy, and one of them felt drawn to the Brewster site. She, two men and Egeln set Memorial Day weekend for their late night on Upper Magnetic Mine Road.

THE NIGHT OF MAY 26-27, 1991

After a nice Italian dinner earlier and resting at the site on Sunday night, they came to the road after midnight on Monday, May 27. Soon they heard a "pinging" sound. Shortly after three of the four felt an odd electric-like tingling in their hands.

A shaft of subtle whitiish light was seen on the road, which Egeln entered, finding it freezing in the cone of light although it was in the mild 70's that night. Other odd effects were observed and the woman (we'll call her Cherry) and older man (Sam) returned to his car as Egeln and the younger man (we'll call him Rodney) stayed outside on the road, with the car behind them.

Soon they saw a subtle white outline appear on the road about 50 feet ahead of them, in a saucer shape with a cuppola on top. Inside the effect, dark conical forms of various sizes appeared one by one. When the light faded, the tubular forms hurried across the road, huddling together very fasr, assuming shapes that looked like hooded robes, without visible faces.

As they moved down the road, a scream came from the car, and the two guys ran there. Cherry had seen three "little greys" moving in lockstep towards the back of the car, only to disappear when she screamed. The men told her and Sam in the car what was happenng with them. Harold and Rodney returned to the site as Cherry and Sam stayed in the car.

As a car drove up the road, the hooded shadows slanted towards the ground, only to reappear in a procession in the trees after the car passed. The procession moved to a huge outcropping of rock, where the forms vanished as they entered the huge rock formation. That was succeeded by swirling shapes in front of the outcropping, like a hurricane or whirlpool galaxy in the air, and subtle symbol-like images flashing in-and-out of view in front of the rock outcropping.

After about 10 minutes the shadowy forms emerged, settling across the road from Harold and Rodney. Harold felt compeled to cross the road, and as he did, he felt what he described as "a wall of emotions" that he passed through, composed of all ranges of positive and negative emotions.

When he came to where the forms were, he no longer saw them, as if he had walked into a hologram, while Rodney watching this still saw the forms around Harold. Harold felt subtle energies throughout his body, up his spine, and felt as if he were undergoing G-force accelerations. Shortly thereafter the experience ended.

For a month afterward Harold felt like his heart was wide open and was filled with happiness, which suddenly came to an end, a feeling which has never returned. Rodney was frightened off by the experience, not wanting anything to do with it ever again, and Cherry, within the year, went her own way after some disturbing "abductions," while Harold wondered what the encounter was all about, describing it like "a dream mainfesting into and breaking through the material world."

Once again, no trip aboard a UFO nor a journey to another world, and no abduction. But Something Else -- a Very Close Encounter of the Make Contact Kind, raising more questions, especially those of personal, universal and entity identity and origin. And where to go next?

Ten months later, in March 1992, S.P.A.C.E. was created and founded out of those questions, formed on the Middle Ground of a road in Brewster and the close encounter interface.

MAY 1993: THE NIGHT OF THE TRIANGLE

On May 1, 1993 a brilliant SPACE innovator launched an intensified phase of CE-5s, "The Pyramid Project," with an experiment ona rooftop in Morningside Heights near Columbia University. He used techniques of musical C tones with meditation. During the rooftop session, a light appeared three times over two bright stars in Ursa Minor (The Little Bear or Little Dipper), directly to the north in the direction of Brewster, forming a triangle with those stars.

Within the next few weekends trips were made to Brewster, where nocturnal lights manuvered overhead, disrupted one night (May 15) by a large and loud helicopter circling over the Cronton Falls Reservior aiming a bright search on the water. The lights, which did not appear for 20 minutes before this, resumed after the chopper flew away.

On May 27 a SPACE Away Team of 16 people ventured to Pine Bush, where pioneer UFO researcher Ellen Crystal (author of "Silent Invasion") and others later spotted UFOs close up and other phenonmenon since the late 1970's, and where two researchers spotted a large craft with multi-colored lights rise silently behind a closed McDonalds one night.

While in the field, lights apearing n the Big Dipper(Ursa Major) kept moving southeast, apparently pointing in the direction of Brewster. 14 Away Team members drove off to Brewster (an hour away), while two remained in Pine Push.

Arriving at an open skywatch spot on Lower Magnetic Mine Road, we soon began seeing nocturnal lights moving above us within moments of one another. At least two started blinking back at us after flashlights were aimed blinking at them.

After a meditation, guilded by a SPACE Team member, we desired a sign, preferrably a flyover of the lights in a triangular formation.

Then, out of the southwest sky, came two lights, one slightly behind the other, and with a third light trailing behind, in a roughly elogated triangular formation. As the three lights reached the western sky, they quickly re-aligned, formng a perfect equalateral trinagular formation, pointed downward!! They paused for a moment before flying off in a procession to the north.

We jumped, danced and cheered!

Before calling it a night, we saw a few more nocturnal lights, over 20 in all that night, and watched satellites pass overhead towards dawn. Of the 14 people at the Brewster site that night, 13 may have been experiencers. For many, it meant much to have this proactive interaction, whatever its meaning, but certainly a Breakthrough.

The lights in the sky interacting with us showed a willingness on their part to interface and communicate with us---REMOTELY AT A DISTANCE---a significant development!

JULY 26-27, 1993: BREWSTER, STONEHENGE & CROP GLYPH

In May 1993 crop circle researcher Colin Andrews and his future wife Cynthia joined a SPACE team to tour the Putnam Valley stone chambers. That included the Balanced Rock, a 60-ton boulder in North Salem, in northeast Westcester County, said to date from the glacial era, but resembling stone dolmens usually found in ancient Celtic cultures in Europe. Andrews met us after returning from Herikmer County in upstate New York, a famous diamond site.

We agreed later to a joint CE5 attempt, with Andrews in England at Stonehenge and a SPACE Away Team in Brewster on the night of Monday, July 26 and early morning of Tuesday, July 27, 1993, accounting for the five hour time differiential.

The SPACE Team, in an open field in Brewster, did it meditation exercise under an overcast sky. A huge triangular cloud moved from the west, curving, and then settled overhead.

The team then drove down to Lower Magnetic Road, where we chatted for awhile in our open skywatch area under cloudy skies. It was now after midnight in the wee hours of July 27.

Suddenly, we heard a lot of footsteps coming towards us from a portion of the road under a canopy of overhanging tree branches. Deer? No these sounded like crowd of people walking!

Intrigued, we called out, but no one answered. As we stood still, the footsteps kept coming, seemingly getting louder and closer. Every time we shined our flashlights in their direction, the footsteps stopped, only to resume after the flashlights were turned off.

Suddenly, a team member from Brooklyn, Posey Gilbert, who has had deep experiences and abductions, shouted at the top of his lungs. To Harold Egeln, it seemed almost like the roar of a bear or lion, startling him.

"There is someone on the road!" Posey Gilbert shouted, scared. "It's them! They're here!" Gilbert felt like he did when he was six years old and beings invaded his room. Our attention turned to him, concerned about his very real distress. He told us that he felt like fleeing or fighting them.

Then there were no more footsteps. We walked to where they came from and from the top of the hill, Posey and Harold saw two long beams of lights ascend swiftly into the sky from the top of the hill.

When Posey Gilbert got home hours later, he was surprised to find a chain with a crystal rabbit on his apartment floor, that had not been there before, taking it as a sign and a gift to not be acting "like a scared rabbit." He took it as a message, leading to what he called "a transforming and life-altering" experience, he said, connecting with his Magnetic Mine Road incident. [A full account, in Posey Gilbert's own words, is included in his fascinating "Quantumantics, the Language of the E.T.s" on links attached below.[

THE STONEHENGE EXPERIENCE

A few days later Egeln talked with Andrews from England on the phone. His team stood within the circle at Stonehenge that same evening. It was an overcast, misty night, just like in Brewster, where they had moments of rain. A large oblong cloud moved from the horizon, curving, and then settling over the ancient structures.

Suddenly, Andrews said, without warning, a man screamed, with a sound, he said, like a bear or lion, not knowing why he did it, he told the startled group. It was then that Egeln told Andrews about Posey Gilbert's shout of fear, about the triangular clouds and the many footsteps.

Andrews and his group went then to Avebury or Silbury Hill where they observed a globe of light.

THE NEW YORK STATE CROP CIRCLE

Days later we learned that a large crop circles formation appeared on July 26--- the very day of the joint SPACE-Colin Andrews Contact experiment across the Atlantic!

The huge formation appeared in Columbia in HERIKMER County, where Andrews had visited just two months before, and on the day we did our nighttime joint CE5 experiment. This synchronicity was truly BEYOND coincidence, part of a treasury of synchroncties that continue until this day.

A SPACE Explorer Team, led by Roberta Puhlaski, later the founder of SPACE-South, visited the formation on August 7, the day of the Crop Circle Conference in Bath, England.

At the site they joined a local investigative group, the Questors. The circles, joined by lines, had diameters of 20, 43, 44 and 88 feet. Local MUFON members took aerial photos. Energies were felt within the formation.

A COMPLEX CONTACT EXPERIENCE

So, here we have a joint contact experiment that had two distinctly shaped clouds, two men shouting or screamng, a crop formation, footsteps with invisible walkers, and a gift of a crystal rabbit.

There is also numerical, and some say spiritual, signifigance of the number of the dates, July 26 and 27, on which this all happened.

This was a multi-layered, multi-facited Close Encounter of the Contact Kind, with personal, group and universal ramifications, meanngs and messages, just two months after the Night of the Triangle.

POSEY GILBERT's FIRST-PERSON, IN-DEPTH ACCOUNT of this remarkable Close Encounter is included within the attached links on "QUANTUMANTICS, THE LANGUAGE OF THE E.T." It was a transformative, life-altering event for him...

OCTOBER 1993: A GENTLE, ENCHANTING ENCOUNTER

On Saturday, October 15, 1993, Howard Schachter, Ph.D., a psychologist from Ottowa, Canada who worked with abductees and was then involved in CE5 resesearch with C-SETI, conducted a CE5 workshop through SPACE in New York City on "Creating a Relationship with Extraterrestrial Intelligence."

That evening he joined our SPACE AwayTeam for a trip to Brewster, stopping at the Balanced Rock, observing unusual nocturnal lghts above us.

On Upper Magnetic Mine Road we, a total of eight people, observed unusual ground lights, such as purple flashes, red dots and blury white globes.

Around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning (Oct. 16) a sudden warm wave on this 40-degree night drew four of us to a roadside spot by a wooded hillside near the outcropping of rock where the May 1991 encounter happened.

"Feel that on our faces? It must be what fairy dust feels like," said Schachter, noting a change in the air, one almost of enchantment. We then saw emerald green oval flashes near the small hilltop, drawing us to a tree on the roadside, as a small white blinking light was seen where the road and hill met.

We all sensed a strong, but an incredibly gentle almost fragile presence in front of the tree, feminine in nature. The presence felt almost elfin and seemed to be about three feet high, at most.

Never fully three-dimensional, the being could be glimpsed in flashes and outlines of emerald green. "She was rather small, gorgeously wispy, gentle, very, very kind, with a compassionate type of energy," Shachter said in an interview the next day. "There were glimpses of a body, albeit wispy."

One observer, an experiencer, said it was like a hologram on a static-filled 3-D TV screen. Two observers, of the six who came to the spot, very briefly saw the form's head bobbing side-to-side, with large wrap-around eyes.

People were feeling "infusions" of unknown energy, drawing them towards the hill, like a gravity attractor. Some felt that their eyesight was being altered to a deeper "vision" or "level of seeing or perceiving" beyond our physical vision.

Egeln, upon briefly seeing the being full for a second, mentally asked the being to extend her right arm forward, as he felt a sudden surge or download of information enter his mind. A woman, an abductee, standing next to him whispered to him that she just saw the being briefly, moving its right arm out. The gentle encounter ended after 30 minutes, leaving us with magical feelings and enchanted thoughts.

In the days following this magical encounter, marked by its beautiful gentleness, all six participants reported feeling various degrees of afteraffects.

THE NOCTURNAL LIGHTS SKYWATCHES

In 1966 LIFE Magazine founder and publisher Henry Luce assigned a team of photographers and a Kodak photo expert to take pictures of UFOs over the Croton Falls Reservoir in Brewster. The assignment was for an upcoming special issue on "Flying Saucers," motivated by a UFO flap in that year centered around sightings in Michigan.

Luce was aware of longtime sightings in the Brewster area (this is two decades before the famus Hudson Valley UFO sightings) and the photo team set up its work crew in the Magnetic Mine Road area, probably where the view of the sky was most open, which may have been the high tension electric power lines, shown in illustration here.

The photo team even used infrared film to snap invisible to the eye objects, mostly the famous Noctural Lights type of UFOs, careful to identify high flyng aircraft and any satellites as part from anomolous lights.

After their assignment, LOOK Magazine beat LIFE to the punch with its own special "Flying Saucer" special issue. Luce abandoned LIFE's special issue, never publishing the photos. Apparently, after seven years, the photos were discarded, according to published reports. But no one can be sure.

S.P.A.C.E. BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO
BREWSTER SKYWATCHES

From 1992 to 1998 SPACE, as a integral part of its proactive approach to the encounter experience, driven by encounter explorers desire to interact with the nonhumans, dispatched over SPACE Away Teams to Brewster to conduct skywatches on well over 50 occassions. Too poor to secure scientific equipment, the teams recorded hundreds of Noctural Lights (NLs), 153 recorded in total in 1993 alone, using their own eyes and observation skills.

In the close encounter accounts rendered previously in this section, the NLs performed manuveurs indicative of interaction with us, as on the Night of the Triangle on May 27, 1993. They seemed, on occassion, to respond to us, and other times they appeared to be just "doing their thing" without any apparent involvement with us.

Following a SPACE exploration meeting in July 1995, half-a-dozen NLs were observed blinking on in the constellation of Pegasus in the Southeast sky, all moving northeastward to the constellation Andromeda, blinking out there. Why Pegasus, we wondered?

In October of that year (1995) teams of astronomers in Switzerland and California (led by Geoffrey Marcy in Calif.) startled the world when they announced the first cofirmation of evidence of a planet orbit the star 51 Pegasi in the constellation Pegasus, determining its existence from a wobble in that far away sun. It was the first such discovery, except for three planets found to be orbiting a pulsar a few years before.

Could it possibly be, we wondered, that the NLs were conveying, in their own inscrutible manner, the discovery of a planet oustide our solar system three months before astronomers made their announcement?? Remember, this phenomenon is so very subtle that no conclusion can be for sure, a built-in uncertainily principle! Yet, and maybe yes or no, they gave the SPACE Team a clue through their apparent communication.

Many NLs we observed through the years would appear out of a particular section of the sky or formed patterned flights. Our data bank is rich with these observances. Yet the UFO comunity remains largely in the dark because SPACE, led by a mainstream New York City journalist, has been a virtual Unknown itself in that community throughout the 1990's. An excellent 1999 book, "Close Encounters of the Fifth Kind" by scientist Richard Haines has no mention of our field work, WATCH THIS SPACE for more information to be added as we get into Autumn.

NOTE: The skywatches slowed down in the 1996-1998 period, with none at all in 1999 and 2000, because we no longer had cars and drivers available, to our great frustration, especially doubly so since we now have high-tech video camcorder and telescope available to us.

THE "CLARE" COMMUNICATOR---April 9,1994

Is there a communication going on in Brewster? And who, pray tell, may be doing it? On April 9, 1994 a SPACE Away Team, acting on the spur of the moment, piled into a car and drove to Brewster from New York City.

While on Upper Magnetic Mine (Reservoir) Road, Herman, one of the four adventurers, walked away from two women and Harold Egeln, as Egeln conversed with the women. Herman, about 50 feet away in a clearing on the road suddenly screamed. He came up to them, saying, while shaking, that Egeln "disappeared" from his view twice, and he could see the road and woods beyond. The women saw nothing of the kind.

Then Herman sensed the presence of "a ghost" whom he described as "an old woman with a cane" just off the road in the clearing under the power lines (about 40 feet from the off-road stone chamber). He and Egeln approached the "ghost," who was not visible to Egeln.

"Harold, she's giving you a name. What is she telling you?" Herman asked. "Clare," said Egeln, uttering the first name that popped into his mind. "Sounds like St. Clare of Assisi," said Herman, who was brought-up in a Roman Catholic family.

Egeln was familar with St. Francis of Assisi, a name that figured prominently with a SPACE organizer who initiated the 1993 skywatches.

"St. Clare's feast day is August 11th. She is the patron saint of communication," said Herman. At that Egeln flinched, because the whole Brewster adventures began with the date of August 11 in 1988, presented intuitively, perhaps "telepathically" in subtle communications in July 1988 to him and, independently of him, to a friend who is a well-known psychic.

It was THAT COMMUNICATION, given to two independent sources with THAT SPECIFIC DATE, that propelled the first visit to the Hudson Valley in 1988 while Egeln started his personal exploration of his own encounters.

Then, six years later in 1994, we get the communication about the patron saint of communication, St. Clare of Assisi, out of nowhere, without Egeln's prior knowledge of her nor her feast date.

Further research about the 12th-13th Centry woman was that she was born on August 11, 1194 (almost exactly 800 years before this incident) in Assisi, Italy to Count Faverone Offreduccio. After hearing St. Francis of Assisi preach, she ran away from herparents, in 1212 at age 18 and became a nun. In 1215 she was chosen the Mother Superior of a convent leading it for 40 years.

She was kown for many miracles. Towards the end of her life, she was too ill to attend a mass. An image of it appeared miraculously in her room on a wall and she could hear the singing. In 1958 Pope Pius XII proclaimed Clare "the Patron Saint of Television" because of that vision, TV being a communicator.

Egeln does not believe that "St. Clare" appeared in Brewster. What apparently happened was that "IT"--the nonhuman intelligence--found a meaningful symbol to convey "ITs" reality. The choice of a religious figure, in itself, has spiritual implications, which crop up aplenty in the encounter phenomenon.

In another time and place the appearance of "a Lady" would have religious implications, such as in Fatima in 1917 (scene of a probable mass UFO sighting in October 1917), where "a Lady" appeared to Three Children. In the October 1993 "Enchantment Encounter" as recounted previously on this page, "a female alien" interacted with people in front of a tree. The Lady in Fatima appeared by a bush, in a mist (wandering mists have been observed in Brewster, even in Winter's cold).

Interpretation of visitation phenomenon comes into play. Bigtime researchers may say it's a screen memory or image...even just imagination. A Jacques Vallee may say that it connects with visitation images throughout the ages. A Whitley Strieber may say it's the "female" type alien image as illustrated on his "Communion" book cover, "the creator of humankind?"

WHOEVER or WHATEVER engendered the "Clare" incident, seemed to be aware of human symbolism. That hints at a longterm involvement with humanity.

When Egeln was interviewed by "Brooklyn Bridge" magazine in 1998 about SPACE (an article that included an interview with Budd Hopkins), the article's reporter, by chance, arranged the interview with Egeln at the "NEW ST. CLAIRE Coffee Shop" on Atlantic Avenue, a place where two communicators (both being journalists) met for lunch. Or there always happenstance coincidences? Or meaningful ones, the synchronistic aspect of encounters? We of SPACE GIVE YOU OUR REPORTS. THEN YOU DECIDE!

NIGHT OF THE CHOPPER---May 16, 1993

In the second year of SPACE Away Team missions to Brewster, a carload of us headed out from the city to the Balanced Rock in North Salem, where we observed some Nocturnal Lights above. Then we headed to Upper Magnetic Mine Road.

Soon afterwards we observed a light which came out of the northwest and blinked out right above us. I would then re-appear, travelling in reverse course. It did this two or three times. After the last sighting, there was a long 20-minute gap before the next incident.

Coming out of the south we heard a helicopter, getting louder. It appeared over the Croton Falls Reservoir aiming a huge, bright searchlight down on the water, as if searching for something or making an examination.

We could barely see it through the trees between the water and the road, so we could make no idenification. We doused our flashlights and remained very silent, not moving. The suond of the whirling blades was very loud, beating away in the air. We flinched when the searchlight was aimed through the trees. But then the chopper headed northwest to the other area of the reservoir, out of our sight.

Maybe, we surmised, the UFOs were detected and some special force was alerted, dispatching the helicopter to investigate? Old reports told of UFOs emerging or diving into or hovering over the reservoir. Perhaps it detected movement from the reservoir?

We drove down to Lower Magnetic Mine Road, where we have an open sky view and the reservoir clearly before us. Still no NLs in the sky. Suddenly we saw the helicopter appear over the northern hills, flying off quickly to the southeast, but too distant to identify.

At the very moment it vanished out of sight, a bright white NL suddenly blinked on hgh in the northern sky, moving towards the southeast. It seemed to be saying, "All Clear" to us.

We can speculate on this incident, which was never repeated. Over the years the police and sheriff patrols, who first questioned us, accepted us, even asking us to report any suspicous human activity around the reservoir, which is one that supplies New York City with its water supply. Sometimes teens bothered us, but human interference, which concerned us the most, was minimal.

The Nature Of Contact

Although the encounters that people have can be very disturbing at times, others come more quietly, in measured approaches which seem to make one expand their awareness of reality.

The gentle, wispy, kind, compassionate and etheric being who made open contact with a group of encounter explorers, as they described the being's ways, in October 1993, may be the way full contact will continue to unfold.

Several other encounters, too numerous to report on this website, are of this nature. Our ladder to them is held up by fragile hopes, anchored by a willingness to explore the contact labyrinth, despite any fears, not allowing those negative forces to overwhelm.

Our observations at our contact sites have accumulated much data, of which some major highlights are reported here.

We will be soon adding reports of nocturnal lights which have been seen many times at the Brewster site, as we keep records of their movements and their sometimes apparent reponses to our presence on the ground. These observations are very much like the ones described by a scientist in "Project Identification," a book about the first scientific skywatches mounted about UFOs, done in the 1970's. He describes synchronicities in regard to his sightings, done by a team working at triangulation points. Those "syncs" seem to be a characteristic of the encounter phenomenon, as described on our Synchronicity and Breakthrough pages. Here we have a University of Missouri scientist reporting what visitation witnesses describe, an aspect currently being dismissed by some top UFO researchers!

In the meantime, we wonder why our contacts have developed like they have, in mostly unexpected ways......

INVITATION TO DANCE?

Etheral beings, Celtic like stone structures, fairy dust, elves, shadow humanoids, silent footsteps, energy displays, nocturnal lights, spirits of the night, floral scents from nowhere, dreamlike phantoms, "ghost saints"...Where are the ETs stepping out of spaceships and whisking us off on wonderous voyages to other worlds???

Something different our way comes...unexpected, sly, cunning, meek, challenging, demanding, elusive, testing our limits...not what one would expect of contact...so what is going on???

Contact requires a Breakthrough, but we were placed in a frustrating holding pattern, with ambiguity at play.....UNTIL JUNE 2000 WHEN CONTACT BECAME COMMUNICATION, detailed in our E-Book below. Open the Book and enter WONDERLAND.....

"WOW!" SIGNAL CONTACT E-BOOK

WHAT IF "E.T." sent coded messages in a quantum-like manner of an ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND? Here, in S.P.A.C.E.'s FIRST E-BOOK, -- "WOW!" SIGNAL CONTACT: A JOURNAL OF CONFIRMED COMMUNICATION" -- is a documentation by professional NEW YORK CITY JOURNALIST Harold Egeln of an astounding series of Breakthrough Commuications as they happened from June 2000 until January 2003 that SEEM to offer persuasive SCIENTIFIC evidence of.....
