Arriving with Barry, a friend, at the Chelsea Day Festival on Eighth Avenue in Manhattan beginning at West 14th Street, the very first vendor there had a two-foot-high WOODEN WHITE RABBIT on display outfront his display, which we could not miss. It was wearing a green vest, so I snapped a photo, noting that we were in Budd Hopkins' neighborhood, as he lives two blocks north. It was a curiosity, BUT NOT a synchronicity -- at this point.
We walked northward on Eighth Avenue through the Chelsea neighborhood and came to the end of the street festival at West 23rd Street, and headed for the uptown M10-M20 bus stop between West 23rd and 24th Streets on Eighth Avenue.
While waiting, the "1-800-MY-BUNNY" Health Care van, with a painting of a huge Yellow RABBIT's Head covering the blue van sped quickly up the avenue and stopped for a traffic light at 24th Street, allowing me to take a quick snapshoot. I remarked that we had RABBITS at both ends of he Chelsea Festival!
Late that nght, around 11:00 p.m., I am reading an article in The New York Times about neutrinos, and there is a reference, of all things, at the start of the story about author John Udike's "RABBIT REDEUX" book, connecting with the study of quantum physics.

This morning, while leaving our first floor apartment (flat), my roommate points out a small WHITE RABBIT plush doll sitting on a white bench in the building lobby, by the inner front door, under the large mirror overhanging the bench.
When we returned from breakfast, it was still sitting there, the first instance that I can recall of a toy RABBIT placed in the lobby. Sitting under the Mirror, I was reminded of "Alice's Adventures Through the Looking Glass," and with all the doors in the lobby, six of them, like the doors Alice encounters as she enters Wonderland. I take pictures of the scene, with three of the doors, 1-A, 1-B and 1-C (A, B and C) behind the rabbit and mirror.

On my way home to Brooklyn, after an afternoon in Manhattan, where I saw the 1973 Woody Allen movie sci-fi comedy "Sleeper," I had to get off the subway in downtown Brooklyn. Off the train, I headed to the FLYING SAUCER CAFE on Atlantic Avenue, where I bought a butterfly-shaped cookie.
Leaving the Cafe, I walked along Atlantic Avenue to the next street, Third Avenue, looking up and admiring the famous landmark skyscraper in the east, the WILLIAMSBURG Savings Bank building, with its huge Big-Ben-like clock tower on the top.
At that very moment, across the street in front of the Brooklyn Diner at he corner of Atlantic and Third Avenues, a "1-800-MY-BUNNY" van was turning the corner! There was that huge Yellow BUNNY head covering the blue van, stopped as it turned from Atlantic Avenue onto Third Avenue, with the WILLIAMS-BURG skyscraper towering overhead in the background! I snapped a quick photo and the van sped away.
What Amazing Timing! What an Amazing Location, with the WILLIAMSBURG building and the FLYING SAUCER Cafe! What an Amazing, Magically Sync! All because I had to find a restroom.
I was startled and moved by this new sync. After seeing the MY-BUNNY van, I slowly headed for the subway station at Pacific Street and Fourth Avenue, two blocks away, boarding a CONEY ISLAND-bound W subway TRAIN.
While waiting for the train to leave, a CLOWN came down the stairs, asking people o the subway platform for directions. I realized that this must be part of the latest "Sync Play" enacting out before me, for "The Clown" in Southwestern American Indian lore is "THE TRICKSTER."
And the CLOWN is asking for DIRECTIONS at a TRAIN station! While I am on a CONEY ISLAND-bound TRAIN! The Synchroncity Act comes to its climax, perfectly crafted and communicated to me! I am stunned!

Riding in a bus on my way to a news assignment this afternoon, I passed the famus and beautiful historic Green-Wood Cemetery, a scenic landmark with the highhest hill in Brooklyn.
The Fifth Avenue B63 bus had just passed the huge Victorian arched gateway, made of stone from a foundry in Bellville, New Jersey, when I looked to the bright, clear blue sky.
I saw what I first thought was a helicopter low in the northeastern sky. The bus was then passing an electric power station between 23rd and 24th Streets on my right. What I saw were what appeared to be three orbs strung together.
Two were white and the third, at the rear, was red, moving in an undulating motion. Balloons strung together? Maybe. UFOs? Unlikely because of how city skies are under close watch these days. Aircraft? What kind then? Passing 24th Street I lost track of them as buildings in the east blocked a further view. I could not be sure of what I saw, frankly.
The very next thing I notied were two large WHITE RABBIT figures, female and male, about three feet tall,, in front of the CW store, with a red awning, on Fifth Avenue between 21st and 22nd Streets.
Within a few blocks I had to exit the bus to go to my assigment at Grand Prospect Hall on PROSPECT AVENUE, which relates to a study of a map I was drawn to do the evening before.
Last night I took a good look at a map I drew in 1973 of the 40-acre wood in West Orange, New Jersey, in which I shared and rented a small house with other people from June 1972 to May 1973. We lived in "the servants quarters," a 7-room house which was the only structure to survive a fire decades before in a nearby mansion, known as "the Lost Mansion of West Orange."
It was in that house where I had a strange experience on Tuesday, December 5, 1972 which led me to investigate it in 1987, launching me into a deep study of close encounters.
My map names the paths and sites inside, the names which I created. The driveway was Happy Road, and the paths, after passing Peter Pan Gate and Oz Fork-in-the-Road, were named Groovy Path, Gentle Way, The Long and Winding Road, Abbey Road, Brandywine Path, Amazing Meadow Path, Blue Jay Way, The Milky Way and Rolling Stone Path.
The wooded areas were named Guthrie Woods, Lothlorien, Earthmother Forest, Oscar Wilds, Whispering Wind Haunts, Elysian Field, Good Vibes Field and The Amazing Meadow.
Some of the sites I named Dionysius Spring, Woodstock Tree Tunnel, Dolphin Brick Wall, Cheshre Arch, Walden Tree Tunnel, Fillmore Floor, Holy Toledo Straits, Starshine Clearing, Lover's Body-Kiss Tree, Earthchildren Pine Neddle Grove, Mad Hatter's Tea Party Grove, Tranquility Picnic Base, Cherokee Vines, Unicorn Point, Angel Laughter's Hide-A-Way and White Rabbit Cave,
The woods seemed "haunted" according to people who visited the house, hearing a female laughing and there was none there, experiencing sudden chills on warm days, seeing black humanoid forms and "an Old Hag," and voices on the wind.
The female "ghost" we named Madeleine. After a party one night, a man who slept over in the downstairs living room claimed to have seen me being pushed upstairs by a fwoman in a white gown and blonde hair, something that did nt physically happen even though he sincerely said so despite my disputing his claim. We both seemed to be in rances, said, and he was unsettled by the experience. Once a team of psychics, one who was called "Bunny," offered to investigate but we refused.
In the Autumn of 1999 some SPACE friends and I returned to the 40-Acres Wood, only to discover bulldozers at work. Nearby Seton Hall High School took over the property, we were told by one of the workers.
The location and address of Our House was 646 PROSPECT AVENUE, between Northfield and Mount Pleasant Avenues.
About 15 hours after I studied my map, for the first time in a long time, I had the "UFO?" and Rabbits episode, as I headed for a News Assignment on PROSPECT AVENUE in Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn. I find that very ironic, UFOs or not.

After work at the newspaper office I came home to check my e-mail. And then, as my usual practice, I checked out two favorite websites, UFOCity and Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country to see what's the latest there.
On the Strieber site is a new article about Richard Dolan, who will be a guest on Whitley's Dreamland radio show on July 20. Dolan is the author of "UFOs And The National Security State: An Unclassified History,Volume I, 1941-1973."
His article, dated Mat 24, is called "Who Are They?" which offers his theory how a highly evolved artificial intelligence (AI), way far beyond what we can conceive of, may be the possible cause of the Close Encounter Experiences.
Dolan makes such a persuasive case for this, which impresses me. Because it seems from and suggested by our "WOW!" Signal episodes that we are dealing with a Vast Interactve Information System of Intelligences (source and origin unknown we emphasize!!!), using the "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland" as a "carrier wave,"
I drop Dolan a quick e-mail and he relpies, saying he will checkout our website, a procedure we do with other researchers we come across who may (we hope) understand our experiences.
After reading his reply, I feel like turning on the TV set to Public Television's WNET Channel 13. At that very moment I see a cartoon show, where a BLUE RABBIT is being delivered to the leader of a group of Robots after being abducted from children. The "borgs" (for cyborg's) leader says that the RABBIT is now part of his CyberSPACE.
The show, a weekday children's program, is called "CyberCase" in which children must find CLUES to solve a mystery or problem involving AI, Artificial Intelligence. Of course, I find this timing and the mention of AI, a RABBIT, CyberSPACE, CLUES (in this case involving Lucky Charms, the Blue Rabbit being one of them) and my discovery of DOLAN's book to be a Very Ironic Sync.
[NOTE: (added Aug. 1, 2002) ---
I now have Dolan's book, given as a birthday gift to me a few days ago. On Page 241, there is a section on "PROJECT OZMA GETS A SIGNAL," about the first famous SETI project in 1960 at Green Bank radio telescope in Virginia under Otto Struve and Frank Drake.
They apparently got a signal from Tau Ceti, later proven to be from a nearby earthbound secret facility.
The next section, right after that account and at the bottom of the page is titled "THE U-2 AFFAIR: A PEEK DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE." Although a happenstance justipoxin by Dolan, it is still Curiouser and Curiouser, as it just HAPPENS to bring in two KEY ELEMENTS of our "WOW! Sgnal Contact and Communication": SETI and our White Rabbit from Alice's Adventures In Wonderland.
Is Dolan's "A.I." (see his article below) at play here, too, in his book????

Beginning to enjoy a day in Manhattan with street fairs and a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, "Barry" tells Harold Egeln his Man In Black experience on Sunday, May 19 at a shopping mall in New Jersey.
"I walk to the door at Borders Bookstore. There's a tall man dressed in a long black robe, with red markings around his shoulders and upper back," says Barry. "He looks at me and asks me, 'Sir, are you going in?' I say yes and he opens the door for me. He is appears to be in his 30s, handsome, sophisticated and seemingly intelligent, Mediterraine in features, white skinned. Once inside Borders I try to spot him, but he is nowhere in sight."
Barry asks Egeln if this is a "Man In Black," or MIB, and Egeln notes that it seems to be a MIB, that trickster who began appearing to early ufologist Gray Barker (author of "They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers) in the 1950s and which John Keel noted in the 1960s.
Egeln finds the place of the black robed man significant. BORDERS Bookstore, with the MIB at "the borders" between this reality and a reality perhaps beyond and outside of Space-Time.
Before meeting Barry, Egeln is in a Barnes and Noble bookstore at Union Square and is drawn to the Astronomy, Space and Science section. But he first sees a book cover with a large RABBIT figure, titled "INTELLIGENT DESIGN Creationism," an anthology published by MIT Press and edited by Robert Pennock, a philosophy, theologival and scientific professor in Minnesota. There is another RABBIT on the cover. They were done by the famous artist Albrecht Durer.
Later in the day, after visiting the Metropolitan to see, once again, the Tapestries of the Renaissance exhibit, Barry and Egeln are walking on Madison Avenue. They look into a book and toy store window (between East 80th and 81st Streets), and then Egeln's attention is drawn to the top of the window display.
There is a game, "CAPTAIN SPACE," and in front of it is a multi-colored RABBIT doll, united the Space and Rabbt motifs.
Before having dinner at the Viand Coffee Shop, Egeln notes, across the avenue, the Ardar Gallery at 1016 Madison Avenue (between 78th and 79th Streets), where the Collision Theory theater ensemble (who prodiced "The Abduction Project" play last year) had a fundraiser last October in 2001.
Then Egeln looks into an antiques store window, the Linda HORN Gallery, where he and Barry are standing. Then Egeln notices a WHITE RABBIT figurine on the window floor.
Inside the coffee shop, Egeln, at a booth with Barry, hears snippets a conversation about "UFOs" and "government coverups" which a customer mentions to a waiter.
In the booth behind Barry are two people talking with French accents. The man talks about Switzerland and mentions "the son of Dr. Carl Jung. Between the two overheard conversations we have associations with UFOs and Jung, who coined the word "synchronicity," following synchronistic episodes. But there is no William.
After dinner, we headed to Lexington Avenue for the downtown subway. At the corner of Lexington and East 78th Street is WILLIAM BLACK Hall, a building of Lenox Hill Hospital on that block, apparently named after a William Black. So, we get our WILLIAM as "a man in BLACK!"
Also, BLACK as symbol of the Invisibile Universe of Dark Energy and Dark Matter, and the Invisiblity Factor of UFOs and Stealth Close Encounters.
Later this evening Egeln opens up the Sunday New York Times to the Arts & Leisure section. There is, on the upper half f the page, photo of a large Green RABBIT, about two-thirds of the top half of the page, illustrating a feature article titled, "The WONDERS of Genetics Breed A New Art." It is about TRANSGENIC art lifeforms, as a way to gain new concepts.
The RABBIT is facing another feature article, headlined, "MYTH, MAGIC And Us Mortals," and subtitled, "In a time hungry for revelations, gods and other TRICKSTERS are back onstage," a story about two plays, "Metamorphosis" and "Ricky Jay: On the Stomp."
