Because of our cruiser type bow, we were sometimes called a "bobtailed cruiser"

LtCmdr. Roy E. McCoy, Captain of the Carronade receiving a plaque from the representative of the Ryan Company for excellence in shooting the Ryan built remote controlled aerial and surface targets during training at San Diego.
