The Way Love Flows, by Eve Adam

(His Version)
There once was a woman.
I loved her.
We built a life together.
Most of it was good,
Yet it seemed like a prison
And she was the warden.

There once was a woman.
She was perfection.
She showed me the way
To the ONE I had forgotten,
God, Source of all LOVE --
Written in capital letters.

There once was a woman,
Old as my mother.
She loved me and I responded.
She needed a partner;
I needed one too.
We each found another.

There once was a woman
Who needed a man
To make her off-limits
To the industry bosses.
Strange partners we were,
Better friends than lovers.

Now again I wonder
Why is there one woman
My heart has accepted
Above all others?
How long can I live
With no personal touch?

Is it better to love
The way love flows
When the channel is blocked,
Or to look for another?
Who will look in MY direction?
How much can I share?
