THE LATEST NEWS:
AUGUST 2009
Cheech Marin Weds!
Cheech Marin married his longtime girlfriend, Russian-born pianist Natasha Rubin, in a sunset ceremony at their Malibu home, his rep confirms exclusively to PEOPLE.com.
The beach ceremony was held in front of about 75 guests, including Hollywood pals DON JOHNSON,Carlos Mencia and Geraldo Rivera.
The groom, in an Armani suit, came down the aisle to the tune of the Cheech & Chong hit "Earache My Eye." His bride, who wore a stunning white gown by Amy Michaelson and jewelry by Kazanjian Bros., walked down the aisle to "Here Comes the Bride" followed by two bridemaids and one flower girl during the 30-minute ceremony.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa officiated the short civil ceremony. Rubin's 13-year-old son Max played with his band for the ceremony.
The wedding, which featured floral arrangements inspired by the couple's new rose garden, was planned by Cassandra Santor and her team at Beautiful Day: Wedding Planning Made Simple. The couple became engaged in February after dating for 4½ years.
New Film for Don!
The big-screen production of the faux Grindhouse trailer will star Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Steven Seagal, Lindsay Lohan, Cheech Marin, DON JOHNSON and Jeff Fahey with Robert Rodriguez's protege, Ethan Maniquis, joining him in the director's chair.
Last we heard, Seagal was in negations for a fat wad of cash so it looks like his needs were met. Seagal may be using Machete as a resurgence tool. Will Machete do for Seagal what Kill Bill did for David Carradine? Elevate his fame temporarily until he's chocked in closet during a weird sex act?
Robert De Niro being included isn't a shock seeing as the respected actor has taken roles ranging from The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle to Stardust. He even had a role in my own movie entitled Horkus the Talking Horse II: Midget Tangent.
Alba's casting shockingly remained off the radar. The Fantastic Four and Sin City sexpot, combined with Lohan, will bring some serious heat (presumably) to the film.
Don Johnson? My fanboy senses went into overdrive with this one. The former Miami Vice and Nash Bridges star will most assuredly do something badass. He always does something badass. (See The Hot Spot for details.)
The new menagerie of stars joins lead Danny Trejo and scary chica Michelle Rodriguez.Look for the film sometime in 2010

FEBRUARY 2009
NASH BRIDGES star DON JOHNSON is suing the producers of the hit 1990s cop drama, alleging he's been conned out of hundreds of million of dollars.
The actor starred as a San Francisco police detective in the show, which ran from 1996 to 2001.
Johnson, who also served as executive producer, accuses bosses at Rysher Entertainment and Qualia Capital, the companies behind the show, of failing to hand over his cut of the profits, eight years after Nash Bridges was taken off the air.
In legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday (17Feb09), Johnson - who is a co-owner of the show's copyright - claims the series earned over $300 million (£211 million) in revenue, and more than $150 million (£105 million) from syndication.
But he has yet to receive anything from Rysher Entertainment and Qualia Capital executives - and is suing for half of the profits, according to TMZ.com.
