FEB 2-11, 2009 FRESNO MARDI GRAS A great party & tour! Fresno hosts one the very BEST jazz festivals on the circuit & Jazz-N-Aweigh makes it easy for YOU to enjoy it along with wonderful places to visit on the way. We will Amtrak south from Seattle -- OR -- you can hop 'on board' along the route & join us. It is overnite on the train, so we all have sleeping units. Our bus takes us from Oakland for a repeat visit & overnite at the historic Groveland Hotel. You will be treated here to excellent service, good drinks, delicious meals (we have both dinner & breakfast) & good visits with the owner who went to school with Elvis Presley! We will tour thru Yosemite for a day & visit the village & shops -- & hopefully enjoy a light dusting of snow! We stay at the gorgeous Tenaya Lodge for one nite & enjoy breakfast before departing. On our way from the Park, we will have a great lunch at Chukchansi Casino with time to 'enjoy' the machines a little, shop or just admire their fantastic views. We stay at host hotel, Radisson where the music is all under one roof with great venues. The three days pass quickly with super trad jazz from 11 top bands -- but then, we are off to San Francisco for two additional days. We will have two great dinners with Dixieland &/or Ragtime performed. APRIL 16-27, 2009 2-Fest Vancouver Island Tour Sydney BC is hosting a new trad jazz festival --- April 17-18-19 & promises a great music-filled weekend in a pretty coastal setting with Tom Hook, Titan Hot 7, Toni Blodgett & Friends, We Three, Belvedere Broadcasters, Ivory & Gold, Stomp Club, Dixieland Express + others. Port Angeles WA -- a most highly regarded 'really trad' festival is held in this beautiful setting & offers terrific bands such as Fulton St, Grand Dominion, High Sierra, Titanic, Independence Hall, New Orleans Ale Stars, Uptown Lowdown, West End, No Inhibitions, Yerba Buena Stompers & Your Father's Mustache -- WOW. APRIL 24-25-26. JAZZ-N-AWEIGH is planning a grand tour of the beautiful Northwest on Vancouver Island for the days in between. This tour will begin & end in Seattle. The Bude festival is held is beautiful, picturesque Cornwall coast & will introduce you to more English trad jazz bands (playing it the way it was written!) than you even knew existed. They LOVE New Orleans music! Festival is last week in August & we will tentatively tour Ireland after that, so returning home around 10th of Sept. '09.
