My Bio

June C. Gallop was born, raised, and resided in Bedford-Stuyvestant (Brooklyn, N.Y.). She relocated from Brooklyn to Staten Island, N.Y. in June of 1997.

Ms. Gallop wants her photographic artwork to be a vehicle for bringing people of diverse backgrounds together.

Photographically speaking, Ms. Gallop's passions are architecture, historical landmarks, and monuments (memorials). She also loves photographing nature, scapes, and subjects that are unique. She captures her visual impressions in color, black & white, and sepia.

June is a Certified Independent Community Access Television Producer/Director (studio and remote), and Videographer. She received her certifications thru Brooklyn Community Access Television (BCAT). She plans to continue her television pursuits thru Staten Island's Community Television (CTV).

She has experience in the area of Independent Radio Broadcasting. For four years, June was affiliated with "The Ron Thomas Small Business Forum" (9l.5 FM), a New York based radio program dealing with issues facing small to mid sized business owners, and entrepreneurs. She held the following positions: Assistant Producer, Program Director, Chief of Staff, Publicist and Director of Human Resoruces.

June was employed by the N.Y.C. Board of Education (now the Dept. of Education) for several years. As a Para-Professional (Special Education), she assisted teachers in the testing of students, and the application of curriculum.

Ms. Gallop has assisted a number of S.I. Cultural and Civic Organizations in the area of fundraising:
Snug Harbor Cultural Center; the S.I. Botanical Garden; the S.I. Historical Society; and the Lynne Robbins Steinman Foundation (etc.).

Presently, June is a member of the following Staten Island organizations:
Council of the Arts and Humanities for Staten Island (COAHSI); the Purple Hats (a womens organization); and the Women's Leadership Council (W.L.C.).

Affiliations: The National Committee on American Foreign Policy; the Staten Island Film Festival (advisory committee); and several Historical Societies (Associations).

She was formerly a member of:
The Staten Island Branch, of the N.Y. Urban League (Advisory Board); the S.I. Branch of the NAACP; the S.I. Chamber of Commerce (High Tech Committee); the Staten Island Economic Development Corporation's 'Women and Minority Business Entrepreneurs' (Advisory Board); the S.I. Chapter, of the United Nations Association-USA (1st Vice President/Membership Chairperson); and the Staten Island Museum (Board of Trustees).

Ms. Gallop is engaged to Dr. Ronald J. Sheppard. She is a grandmother of three: Miss Mia; Kiana; and Ariana (Chewy).
