this little part is a great triumph for me because I have zero training in machineing
the way this is going to work it is going to be an attachment to a mill drill lathe
.
a 3/4' piece of round stock will be chucked up in he lathe then the pantograph attachment will slide back and fouth on the round stock the other end of the round stock will be secured by the tail stock holder
.
at the other end of the tool two foredom rotary tools will be secured the whole attachment is free to slide left and right and up ad down in a arc and both tools will be connected by a axle this allows the tools to rotate fore and aft. in a arc
.
meanwhile the item to be copied and the stock for the copy are secured to the milling table below that of course can move back and forth fore and aft
.
the two pieces will be able to be re indexed in 90 deg increments so all areas can be reached
.
these pieces still need to be polished and welded together
The welding is done and the the stylus and cutting tool have been indexed together with a shaft and pined together so they move together
.
then a rigid guide rod has been chucked up in the lathe and the other end secured in the tail stock holder thingy. this allows the pantograph to move side to side
.
the picture explains it better than me :-)
