Important note:
While I stated the above, I honestly made an exception when in June 2001, Lisa the assistant photo editor of Spin magazine e-mailed me to offer me $$ to use my Leif & Beau photo for the September 2001 issue, after she researched and came across this Site looking for a photo of Leif, to go with his interview that Spin was running for their feature column. While she did honor my request to return my photo samples (late, however) along with a complimentary issue, I had to wait 3 months (all summer) for my payment, wherein my emotions were toyed around with during the long wait (especially since the wait went past the horrific September 11 catastrophe, that she eventually used in an uncalled-for manner, as an excuse when our agreement / payment due was done way before that incident, which hurt me very much by making me appear insensitive or oblivious to current events) due to her misrepresentation about certain paperwork needed to be processed in order for her to have payment sent to me, which caused a terrible delay in sending me the payment. Because of this very upsetting and unethical experience that I had to encounter awkwardly, I forewarnly caution you when contacting me to buy something of mine that you see online, that from now on I will NOT make another exception (unless your offer is a very special one in a professional manner, and that payment is this time made UPFRONT with a signed/notarized agreement (anything you want from me must be stated AND honored in that agreement- no surprises, and delays are understandable during emergencies only) before I submit to you postpaid by you)).
BTW, why is it when somone contacts you for something, awkward consequences occur, yet when you do the contacting, things run smoothly?? (Must be the curse of my mother.) Funny how in the beginning she appeared speedy, reliable, and personable (even paid for FedEx to pick up / return my photo samples) but when it came time to paying me, she disappeared and later became a very different person when I first contacted her (yes, way before 'September 11') about owing me money. I was very flawless during her quest and look at what I got in return: delayed payment and 2nd class treatment. Therefore, I have learned to be even more firm and less kind / patient whenever exercising my rights. I stated to her that she will be reported and even forwarded our e-mail communications to her editor-in-chief, Alan. I apologize if I appear [whatever you're thinking] here, but I was very dumbfounded and hurt that I was first overjoyed at being chosen to be featured in a national magazine, which is rare that it happens, only to be left in limbo on the update/payment request. Worse, she never offered an ounce of apology, even while I hinted to her! The whole scenerio is ridiculous and immature on her part. However, I'll say that I don't regret about being contacted by Lisa at first, because I am very proud of Beau my dog and love to show him off, and ALL of my photos of him are VERY special, even the ones with Leif, LOL! I am a very educated, ethical, kind, and compassionate (and, sensitive- my heart bleeds easily) individual, which can unfortunately qualify me as a pawn if I'm not careful, so I still say to myself and to you all: 'caveat emptor'=buyer beware...
Thanks so very much for understanding...
Leif also had a situation about his interview where he felt that they misquoted him as saying teen singer Christina Aquilera's music "sux". He said he never said that and just meant that she couldn't hold a candle to lengendary soul singer Aretha Franklin if Christina were to 'outscat' Aretha.

My Leif meeting with Beau appears in the May 2000 issue of the Autograph Collector magazine! Check out the "In the News" column.

And, here's my quote from the online Autograph Collecting News, March 2001: "My favorite autograph as of now is Linda Blair & Leif Garrett as an even tie because, not only did they include my dog's name when personalizing my name, they also signed 2 autographs for me in 2 different fashion: Linda signed her dogs' names along with hers, and Leif wrote in a nice note!"
